Quote:The next day he got up and was approached by a soldier.
-“We saw that the brothers got much stronger under your command, so we decided to place our trust in you, to lead us. We must avenge our fallen comrades. Will you take this responsibility?”
Paul didn’t hesitate and nodded.
Vol.2 Chapter 4-Dangerous situation
He started to explain the plan to the soldiers who guttered around. The plan was pretty simple. Dig some large holes in the cave and on the bottom of the cave place the swords with the tip up so that when the creatures fall in the hole the swords would go through them. The holes don’t need to be too deep, just enough so that when something falls in the hole it would be pierced. They would create 3 holes. The first would be the shallowest and the last the deepest starting from the entrance to the large room full of goblins. They will surround and push the goblins towards the exit into the traps. As they fall into the holes even if they don’t die right away they would still die eventually from the bleeding and being forced downwards by the soldiers and goblins walking over them.
The bigger problem was digging the holes. Paul took 5 soldiers with him. Two were to dig the hole and place the swords and the 3 and himself would keep guard in case goblins them. It took them half a day to finish the traps. They also used small branches, leaves and dirt to cover the holes. Next Paul sharpened and repaired the equipment of all the soldiers and cooked them something.
They were now ready. They headed into the cave and using some wood to cross the holes. After they crossed a hole they took the wood and crossed the next one and when they finally crossed the final trap they were ready to attack. He made three teams each with three members and one that remained went with the brothers. They were all responsible to push the goblins from a direction to the narrow entrance where the traps were. Should one fail it could backfire and the goblins would surround them. Paul would go from a team to another to help them if there would be trouble.
As soon as they entered they were spotted. The soldiers quickly broke into smaller groups and ran to the back of the goblins. They started to fight while slowly pushing them to the exit. There were many goblins but they were still pushed backwards by the few soldiers. Some goblins died, and seeing this the other goblins retreated a bit speeding up the process. Finally after ten minutes the first goblin fell into the hole. The other goblins noticed the trap but it was too late. The others were pushing them to their deaths.
The goblins that fell into the hole didn’t die immediately and when the hole was full they started to fall into the next one. Paul just to make sure started stabbing the corpses of the goblins in the hole to make sure they died. The second hole was filled even faster than the first one. Seeing that they are starting to lose the goblins started running to the exit and they soon fell into the last hole. Some tried to jump over it but it was too wide. In the end a few goblins managed to walk over the bodies of its comrades and almost escaped but Paul was faster and stood his ground in front of him. The two brothers joined him and being attacked from both sides all the goblins died.

All the men let out a loud roar of victory that echoed in the cave. Like the shout ended they all fell to the ground exhausted. Paul decided to rest as well. They were now all talking and laughing like it was just an average day, like they never killed over 80 goblins. After resting Paul and the two brothers headed back deep in the cave to see if there is anything else there. The rest of the soldiers were ordered to get the bodies of the goblins out while being careful and stabbing them with the sword since there might be still more alive under the bodies.
As the brother followed Paul they were looking silently around. As they reached the large room that should be empty they saw some sort of green mist on the floor, reaching their ankles. They soon noticed a large shadow in front of them.
It was a huge goblin that had huge muscles and was about 3 meters tall. Its head was all full of scars and out of his mouth was leaking some green saliva. The saliva when reaching the floor turned to the green mist that covered the whole floor. It had a large two handed sword and iron armor. As he stepped a large sound was made and the dry earth underneath his feet cracked a bit. It looked strong. It was strong. Probably the strongest foe Paul has met so far.
The two brothers were now pale as a sheet of paper. Paul quickly hit them lightly behind the head snapping them back to reality. He quickly ordered them to be careful and attack the legs and then retreat. Paul had in his hand the two short swords since they would me more efficient. As they stood still measuring the enemy the huge goblin started charging them. Paul was surprised by the speed of the huge goblin and barely got out of the way.
The two brothers also got out the way and just as they did they jumped back and attacked the legs. They barely made any scratches. The goblins used his sword barely missing their necks. They retreated and noticed from behind the young man started charging and jumping on the back of the goblin. He used the two swords and continuously struck the neck with all the strength that he had. The monster started to try and grab him but Paul was faster and avoided the grabs. Seeing that this didn’t work the monster charged at the wall with his back but the young man jumped from his back just as he reached the wall. The monster hit the wall so hard that the entire cave started shaking.
Paul noticed that all his attacks were almost useless. He barely cut the skin at the neck after hundreds of strikes. Then the goblin monster angry at the little man in front of him started attacking him. He was very skilled and Paul was cut a few times. His arms were now cut in a few places. As he tried to block an attack, the strength behind the blow threw him back a few meters and numbing his hands. Thankfully the two brothers intervened and distracted the goblin long enough for Paul to recover his hands.
Seeing that the sword didn’t work he took out his daggers. And this time he used all his speed and jumped to the neck again. With his legs holding the neck, he didn’t attack the neck this time. He went for the eyes. Using all his strength he used a dagger and stabbed the monster in the right eye. The monster let out a huge yell, Paul even fell to the ground and his ears started to bleed a bit. He partially lost his hearing and was on the floor not able to stand up. It seems that the loud yell shook his brain a bit.

As he was trying to stand up, the monster noticed that this was the chance and swung his sword towards his neck. Paul was now looking at the sword coming to his neck thinking “I am really going to die?”
Before the sword reached his neck however the blade was stopped by one of the brothers saving his life. Paul saw the blade but then he saw only a shadow and blood. As he wiped the blood of his face he saw that Faj lost one of his arms and was thrown across the room. Paul was shocked and yelled out loud
“Naj take your brother to safety! NOW!”
Naj hurried to his brother picked him up and ran to the exit. The monster tried to stop them but Paul already recovered and with his help the brothers escaped. Paul was now boiling with anger. Because of his weakness someone lost an arm.
As the anger continued to rise in him the daggers started to glow with the colors of a flame. Sometimes the flames turned blue and sometimes white. He received some sort of notification but he ignored just like the rest so far.
Using all his speed in a few seconds he was under the monster. Using his daggers he cut the monsters Achilles heel and actually succeeded. The monster fell on his knees crying in pain. The whole cave started vibrating from the cries. As Paul was about to deliver the final strike the monsters skin started to turn to black. Paul jumped back since he didn’t know what is happening.
As soon as his whole skin was black he stood up. He healed. When he saw his face he was surprised to see that they eye also healed and was now a reddish color. The goblin suddenly used his sword. The attack was too fast. Even though Paul saw the attack coming he could avoid it completely and on his chest was a big cut and his armor fell apart. He quickly got some bandages out and covered the wound stopping the bleeding. The monster didn’t attack and just let out something that looked like a smirk
The young man didn’t know how to defeat him. While thinking he started to use his daggers and attacked where he could. The monster this time started to avoid most of the attacks. Some attacks that reached him cut him but he was instantly healed. While barely dodging he monsters attacks he figured why not use the armguard arrows.
Not noticing the soldiers that arrived from the cave he started his attack. Using all the speed he could possibly use he avoided the attack of the goblin and jumped up to his face. He covered the goblins eyes with his hands and armed the armguards. The two arrows simultaneously launched and pierced his eyes and went straight into the brain. Soon after he jumped back and prepared himself for the next attack. But the next strike didn’t come. The monster goblin was now dead.
The soldiers hurried to his side and kept saying something. Paul couldn’t understand and was just smiling. They soon understood that he couldn’t hear them so they stopped. Then they noticed another room and pointed towards it. Paul entered and saw there was a small goblin with jewels on him. The goblin kept saying something crying. Paul didn’t care and just cut the head off with a single stroke.
Paul then ordered the men to gather all the bodies in the main big room and rest. Paul then fell asleep while standing. The soldiers carried him to a bed they made from what they could find and went back to carry the bodies.
When Paul got up he was rested and saw a huge pile of bodies in the center of the room and some guards around laughing and some sleeping. He looked and saw that the brothers were still alive even though Naj has lost an arm. He then woke everybody up and split the bodies. Each one of them got 8 goblin bodies to claim the guild points and materials. Paul got 12, the final boss and the midget goblins.
Paul absorbed all the GP from the bodies and absorbed the bodies. The soldiers didn’t see this since they were focused on the bodies in front of them and when they finally noticed they though Paul carried the body somewhere and didn’t care much.
Paul then checked his stats ignoring the updates looking only at the final stats and skills.

Some skills leveld up but he noticed that mana sight was gone and also Aura Shift broke the previous limit. He checked the skill description
Aura shift - Intermediary LVL.5 (19%))The strength of your aura is now stronger. You are now able to influence a large amount of people to perceive you as you wish. The effectiveness of the aura decreases for each person influenced.
Aura Shift absorbed Mana sight allowing you to see mana when you direct aura to you eyes.
Special: You are now able to focus your entire aura into a weapon increasing the damage and some additional proprieties.
Paul was very happy that he survived and also received a large amount of stats. He was also glad that none of the soldiers under his command died. The only serious injury was the one Naj received. Then Paul noticed the soldiers didn’t care about the goblin bodies after they took the guild points. After leaving the cave Paul ordered them to stay at the entrance as he was about to crash the whole cave so that no creatures might use it again. Of course he had ulterior motives. He absorbed all the goblin bodies. The he started to use aura shift on his weapons and started to strike the walls on the way out.
Close to the exit when he delivered a powerful strike the whole cave started shaking. Paul ran out fast thinking it would collapse. As he got out the cave was still standing. Angry he used his whole aura on a single sword and pierced the wall near the exit. The whole cave collapsed making a loud noise and everyone around could only see dust for a few minutes.
Satisfied they rested for a few minutes in the sunlight and then headed back to Rosan.

Thus begins the journey of a Pokemon Ranger who will come to be feared by those hiding in the dark of the Pokemon world.____________________________________________________________Author Note:Please keep in mind that this is an AU (Alternate Universe). I will be taking aspects of the Pokemon world that I find to be the most fun and enjoyable and editing some things as I see fit. The world will contain some elements and characters from the anime, manga, and games, but it will also have some original characters and a mostly original storyline. It will not go fully grimdark like some gritty parts of the manga or some more realistic fanfictions, but also won’t be all sunshine and roses like the games. Overall, I do want to keep the story on the lighthearted side, but there will be some more serious plots as well. About 90% taking the story seriously and 10% wish fulfillment, I suppose. Note: I am also posting this fanfiction on Webnovel. No difference on release times for chapters. Also, as an update because of the people who messaged me about the multiple transmigrators, the existence of other transmigrators won't have much, if any, affect on the main plotline (or the harem if that's what those people are worried about). There will only be a handful of interactions with a few of the transmigrators during some of the more dangerous scenarios I have planned. I don't expect this to change anybody's mind, but thought it was worth mentioning. Also, I edited the first chapter to make this more obvious.Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or speak for GameFreak, Nintendo, or Pokemon. I'm just a fan having some fun in his free time.
