Tomb of Eternal Night
Palace of Night-Royal Suite
Jacob slowly woke, the bed was empty since Cathrine had left sometime during the night to report back to the Council of Nine. Eiloma came bustling in followed by two trays with food and drinks on them. June and Chalxae followed the servants in, keeping an eye on them and checking on Jacob after yesterday activities. "Ladies, thank you for the food and please join me. Eiloma, work and talk please."
"Sosa informed me that you are expected at Darguun Hold tomorrow, she sent a portal scroll with the message. You are expected for dinner, you will be introduced to everyone worth mentioning. All the Chiefs of Clan Darguun will be present and all the Elders. You can bring 5 people with you, but it is not required. As far as today goes, you have a meeting with your council members this morning. After that, you will have time to make the dungeon run if you want." Eiloma informed him.
Jacob nodded as he ate and considered who he would bring and the potential dungeon they would face later.
"What point would we have in restoring the Mid and Outer City?" One of the council members asked.
"It is long overdue, you have had 2000 years to complete the work. When Immortals start arriving in large numbers I want the city to be prepared for when they come even if it is not entirely inhabited. Don't think of it as a waste of money and resources, think of it as an investment in the cities infrastructure and its ability to sustain and protect itself." Jacob replied.
"To repair and rebuild the mid and outer city will take a massive amount of time, resources, and money. We also don't have the people to populate those areas." The councilman retorted.
"We will eventually. Now my idea is to rebuild the mid and outer city block by block. If we do it this way, we will not overwhelm our workforce and we will not run out of resources quickly. Understand?" Jacob replied, "Now when will we have the burial for Queen Talia?"

"The ceremony and cremation will be tomorrow morning, we have extemded invitations to the Bloodfang Clan and Earth Splitters." the Councilman reported, "Representatives of the House of Remembrance will also be there to capture any memories that Queen Talia is willing to give us. You will be expected to give some words at the ceremony."

The Dark Maiden
Jacob read the description to his party causing Chalxae to snort and June to smile, "Eilistraee." June stated boldly causing the doorway to shudder and withdraw. The entrance sloped down and turned to hide any occupants, "Where is the Guardian?" Jacob asked right before he heard Fenwyn scream and curse. Jacob whirled around and studied the newcomer.
Void-Spider
Name: Cixad
Class: Warden/Champion of Lolth
Level: 35
Abilities: Teleport, Entangle, Unknown
The huge spider was shrouded in shadows trying to get past the Demon that Fenwyn had summoned. The Sword-Slayer was fighting but losing against the powerful champion. Thelgrum blasted the spider with a blast of light and sound causing the huge spider the shy away and stripping some of the shadows from the spider.
Jacob charged in slamming his shield and braking a fang-off and drawing a scream from the spider. Before the spider could retaliate the Sword-Slayer and Thelgrum slammed into the spider distracting it and allowing Jacob to recover and resume his assault on Lolth's guardian.
Eilistraee slept, she could hear the distant shouts and feel magic being used close by. She could do nothing and she felt so weak from the damned artifact. Eilistraee felt the Champion of Lolth fought someone outside her prison, she could only hope that whoever was fighting her mothers champion could defeat the Champion and free her.
Jacob grunted as the Spider used its Teleport ability and moved away, a blast of energy emitted from where the spider had been. Every member of Jacob's War Party immediately gained a status de-buff that increased poison and dark based magic damage. Cixad immediately triggered two more abilities, one rooted every party member and the second was a blast of poison at Jacob, Thelgrum, and the demon Fenwyn had summoned.

Jacob snarled and triggered his Charge ability breaking the webs that had snared him and slamming into Cixad and driving the Champion further away from his rooted War Party. Shigna and Fenwyn continued to rain destruction on the oversized spider. Both Thelgrum and the Sword-Slayer were still rooted and could do nothing the aid Jacob as he fought the Champion.
Suddenly the Jacob heard the howls of wolves, 6 large Timber Wolves swarmed onto the spider ripping and tearing into the Void-Spider. Cixad went berserk trying to throw the wolves off his body while trying to get to Jacob who targeted the spider's limbs to slow the spider down. A Fire Arrow and Exploding Arrow slammed into Cixad head causing the Champion to scream in rage and pain.
Suddenly Chalxae appeared above Cixad and slammed both her daggers into the spider and dragging her daggers along Cixad's body as she slid off the Champions body. Jacob gave the Champion a feral smile as he slashed Moonlight across the spider's eyes. Cixad flinched back and hissed at Jacob before spitting venom at the Vampire causing Jacob to stagger back trying to wipe his eyes. Thelgrum slammed into the spider before Cixad could follow up his attack on the distracted Vampire.
Thelgrum triggered Smite, Wrath, and Banish quickly draining Cixad's of nearly a quarter of his health in about 10 seconds. The Sword-Slayer activated an ability that ignited the swords with Hellfire before slamming them into Cixad's flank. The spider screamed and tried to move away but the Sword-Slayer moved with the Champion keeping his blades buried in the Champion, slowly cooking the spider from the inside-out.
Eilistraee suddenly felt something different as Lolth's Champion died, it did nothing to wake her though. She could distantly sense beings enter her jail cell, most left soon after but two stayed within. She could almost hear what they were saying but couldn't due to the magic that kept her dormant.
Jacob walked into the cave, it was similar to the one that had held Dumathoin. The difference was it held a figure a little over 7 feet tall, proportioned very well. Armed and armored as if she had come prepared for battle, but slept deeply. An Artifact hovered over the dormant body of Eilistraee, she was bathed in the odd light the crystal emitted.

Would you like to deactivated the Crystal of Endless Sleep? Yes/No

Alert...
Jacob caught the crystal as it dropped, but before he could place it within his inventory Eilistraee grabbed him by his throat and slammed him in the nearby wall. June immediately drew an arrow and aimed it at the back of Eilistraee head. "Please let my friend go," June told the newly awakened goddess.
"Why would I do that?" Eilistraee spit out looking back at the Drow-Vampire. Jacob immediately drew Moonlight and pressed it against Eilistraee neck. The goddess flinched as soon as she felt the blade but did nothing else.
"My friend asked nicely and if we wished you harm I would have done it before I deactivated the crystal." Jacob pointed out, "Plus I didn't slit your throat or bury Moonlight in your heart while you were distracted." Eilistraee turned back to stare at Jacob before nodding and releasing him.
"Thank you for your assistance, I assume you know the context of my imprisonment?" Eilistraee asked while moving away from the two Vampires.
Jacob nodded, "Yes, we freed Dumathoin. He briefed us on what happened, talk to him about the deal we made. I expect you to uphold the deal just like he agreed too."
"If he made the deal, I will uphold it. Thank you for your assistance, I will not forget it, Vampire." Eilistraee gave a half bow then turned opened a portal a stepped through

Hero:Generation
UPDATES WEEKLY The world of Hero: Generation diverges from our own in the 1970s on a night known as “The Aurora Event”. Beautiful and luminescent weather phenomena covered the planet, for ten short minutes every corner of the Earth was underneath a cascade of lights in the sky. It was days later before reports began to filter in, more than could be suppressed by Governments and Nations. The Alphas had arrived. A small percent of the global population began to exhibit otherworldly and super natural abilities, changing the course of humanity. The Vietnam Occupation ended over night, as each ruling nation took action to respond. In the coming years Alphas would begin to change the globe. Russia eventually became an Alpha nation ruled by a mysterious figure only known as Father Winter. America, Europe, and Australia become even larger superpowers as their Alpha populations exploded, in time a United Nations force known as The Guardians was established to police and document the Alpha emergence. The worlds foremost expert in Alpha studies, Dr. Pavel Laghari invented a system known as the Laghari Scale, that scored Alphas on a scale of 1 to 10 across a wide array of parameters ranging from relative physical abilities to other parameters. Now, in most civilized countries Alphas are required to be assessed the moment their powers manifest, or be in strict violation of local and international laws. In this Age of Heroes , The Guardians have designed a new Initiative to recruit younger Alphas and set them on a path to greatness. Every year teenage Alpha’s from all over the globe flock to secure locations to take part in the Guardians crucible. Many will enter, but few will earn the right to call themselves a Guardian.

Ghostified City
‘Ghostified City’ is a post-dystopian sci-fi tale, set in a fading world that might be a future version of ours, running out on autopilot into oblivion. Adaman Yimmand is a simple robofactory operator in The City who's working with robots and machines every day. He doesn’t even realise that he might not have met another actual human being in years. Everything begins when he breaks his routine for once and enters a bar where he meets Evelith. This pesky other person does not let him go after he has had his -rather terrible- beer, because according to her actual humans are much rarer than he’s aware of. And from then on ‘the genie is out of the bottle and won’t get back in’, to use her words: Adaman meets more people, and gradually he has no choice but to accept that the reality of The City is not what he always thought it was, and to face the darkness of a fading humanity on the brink of self-inflicted extinction. Is there any hope left for him, and for his species? I have selected 'sexual content' and 'traumatising content' to be on the safe side, because there is a stripclub-like venue in the background of the story, and an almost-extinct humanity that has institutionalised suicide which might be disturbing to some. Apart from that it's not really a heavy 'adult' story.('Ghostified City' is my first long story in English as opposed to my native language Dutch, and an earlier version was published on my fiction blog 'Oranderra' until I stopped updating. This is a slightly altered version of the first series.)
