Empire of Night- The Wall

Explosions, screams, and the clash of arms drowned out everything. The invaders were pressing them hard, but only about a third of them were attacking the Wall currently. They had gained the Wall in six different places though, and more were flooding onto the Wall every second as the exhausted defenders fought to throw them back. Jacob pulled back from the fighting as the closest pocket of attackers collapsed. "The Myrmidons and Steel Warriors on the day shift rotation will be here in less than ten minutes. The Third Legions reserves are also on the way and will be on the Wall in less than fifteen minutes." General Tathlyn Hune stated as he joined Jacob.

"Everyone is on cooldowns, Healing potions and tonics are starting to run low, same with Alchemic Bombs. We should have a resupply within three hours.' Darren stated as he wrapped a bandage around a burned arm. 'Unless we pull something out of our ass...There is a very real chance the Wall will fall before our reinforcements arrive." Darren stated as he downed a Minor Healing Potion.

Jacob grunted as he checked his Status as he downed a Minor Stamina and Minor Mana potions, "So we need to buy time and get them to commit more troops to the attack." Jacob stated as he drummed his fingers on Moonlight before shoving it back into its sheath. Once he had two thousand Mana and Stamina each, he activated Shadow Fusion. Jacob screamed as his bones broke and reformed as what appeared to be black smoke poured from his body as he grew in size and mass. Alexi watched the continued assault on the Wall. the ancient fortification had stood against the combined might of the forces of the Light and Darkness for nearly a century before falling. Back then though, it had been manned by over sixty thousand soldiers, now it had a bare minimum garrison. "I told you, the Wall will fall then the valley beyond will be flooded with our armies." Alexi addressed Grimlock.

The other Chaos Lord said nothing, just continued to stare and study the distant fighting. A dozen Chaos Knights and several hundred Chaos Warped surround them, all of them had come with the Tiger Kin. So far he had done nothing to stop Alexis' attack, but he was armed and armored for battle. "We will see, no matter what happens you will pay a price for disobeying orders from Her." Grimlock states as his eyes shift from the distant fighting to glare at the other Chaos Lord.

Suddenly his gaze whipped back towards the wall where a large smoke cloud was gathering. Grimlock stared intently at the cloud as he took one step forward and growled low in his throat as his hands moved to a large double-bladed ax hanging off his back. "Well, well, looks like your old recruit has found some strength after all." Grimlock quipped as he glared at Alexi.

Alexi was confused at the comment until something exploded from the cloud and hovered over the ongoing battle. "Is that a???"

"Yes, it's a Shadow Drake. The fight for the wall just turned in their favor, what will you do?" Grimlock asked as he watched as the Shadow Drake cost along the wall bathing the attackers in black flames. The screams of the invaders could be heard even from this distance. Alexi quickly signaled from another wave of attackers to move forward.

Real World...

North American Alliance- Greater New York Conglomerate

Anthony stared out at the thriving city, New York was one of the last great metropolises and was nearly triple the size it once was just a century ago. After the last World War, its population had exploded as the west coast of North America was abandoned to nuclear and chemical fallout. The best estimates from scientists estimated that it would take another four hundred years to resettle the more urban and wild areas west of the Rocky Mountains. All the cities like Seattle, Los Angelis, San Diego would lay abandoned for at least a thousand years before they could be reclaimed.

Suddenly his comm unit chirped and light up, he checked the message and immediately connected with Shinaga. "My friend, what is the problem?" Anthony asked. The last time he had seen Shinaga, the Chinese man had been more relaxed, today he was stressed out. He looked like he had not slept in a couple of days.

"I received intel a couple of days ago about a scavenger team was raiding one of the old Russian Federation bases outside the ruins of Vladivostok. I had a man embedded with the group before he died of radiation poisoning, he got me a manifest of everything they recovered. It's bad, they got the entire arsenal of weapons. Biological, Chemical, and Nuclear, they got it all. I have no idea who they planned to sell the weapons too, but they planned on selling most of their stock in Africa, from there they can sell their wares to anyone." Shinaga reported as he leaned backward in his chair.

"How many nuclear weapons did they get?" Anthony asked as he sat down stunned at the new development.

Shinaga winced before looking at Anthony in the eye, "Three dozen nuclear weapons, all of them medium-sized. My scientists state that they warheads will still be viable and they can easily hack them with even the most basic A.I. units. With a couple of days, all of them can be updated with the latest tech and maybe even be enhanced if they take them to the right people." Shinaga stated as he drank from his glass.

"Alert any of our merc groups in Africa to keep their eyes open and their ears to the ground, if they catch wind of anything. Let the intel slip the world governments as well through the usual channels, maybe if we miss anything, they will pick it up." Anthony stated as he closed the comm line and started composing a message for the other members of the council.

Shadow Immunity Jacob flew high over the Wall and invaders before turning a wheeling back towards the invaders. Taking a deep breath Jacob activated his first ability Shadow Flames. Black and grey flames burst from his mouth as a flew along the length of the Wall. The flames acted like napalm, burning and consuming the Chaos Warped as they tried to put the black and grey flames out, but all they did was spread the destruction.

Jacob only managed to douse about half of the attackers, but the other half broke immediately. Jacob turned and spat out another gout of Shadow Flames on the fleeing attackers as horns and drums sounded. Jacob wheeled around and swiftly flew into the nearest Siege Tower sending it toppling to the ground. The few Chaos Warped within the structure screamed as it collapsed.

Jacob quickly moved onto the next tower as the fleeing Chaos Warped reformed with the reinforcements from the main army. A little over half of the remaining Chaos Warped were marching towards the Wall and its defenders. Jacob let out a challenging roar as he gained some altitude as he winged towards the attackers, he had just over two minutes left until the Shadow Fusion ended.

Alexi felt the sweat drip down his back as the Shadow Drake systematically destroyed or set fire to every single Siege Tower. He could feel Grimlock glaring at him as Jacob flew higher and studied the approaching attackers before letting out a ground-shaking roar in challenge before flying closer to the oncoming attackers. "We can still win," Alexi stated as he reviewed his skills and abilities in case he had to defend himself, but with the De-Buffs he currently had...

Suddenly the Shadow Drake spit out an orb that slammed into the oncoming army. When the orb hit, it exploded, the nearest Chaos Warped just disappeared as the condensed energy expanded outwards tearing apart anything in its path before dissipating. Hundreds died in seconds as Alexi tried to swallow and not look at the other Chaos Lord.

"Don't go anywhere Alexi, you will be coming with me sooner rather than later," Grimlock stated before he could move.

Jacob swooped down and slammed into the oncoming army as black and grey flames exploded outwards from him. The Chaos Warped screamed as Shadow Flame Armor activated and started consuming the nearest enemies. Jacob's claws, tail, and teeth decimated the nearest Chaos Warped as the flames shrouding his body continued to eat at them.

Once the flames died out, Jacob threw himself into the air and quickly gained altitude as he looked back. The oncoming enemy troops were largely intact, but they have lost a couple of smaller formations to his attack. Jacob growled as he targeted another formation of Chaos Warped Trolls and launched his last Shadow Orb towards them. The condensed orb of Shadow Magic slammed into the oncoming Trolls exploding on contact destroying hundreds and leaving hundreds more crippled and wounded as the timer started strobing alerting Jacob that the Shadow Fusion had less than a minute left before it ran out.

Jacob growled as he let out another gout of Shadow Flames towards the oncoming enemies before he wheeled around and turned back towards the Wall.

Nadal watched as the Shadow Drake turn away from the encroaching army and fly back towards the Wall. The Fourth, Tenth, and Sixteenth Legions waited patiently under Illusion Magic to attack the invaders. The Fifth and Seventeenth Legions were further to the south and closer to the Wall waiting on the attack element of the invading army to get closer to the wall. A messenger came running up, "Sir, the Onager's are assembled and ready." Nadal nodded and dismissed the soldier as he started snapping out orders.

Less then a minute later the Legions are receiving combat Buffs as a half dozen large fireballs soared overhead and slam into the rear of the invading army. Dozens were killed and/or wounded as the ammunition explodes among the enemy troops. A second wave was fired thirty seconds later as the enemy army turned to face a new threat. Horns and drums sounded from the enemy army as they started marching towards them.

Nadal smiled as he heard the drums and horns of the Fifth and Seventeenth Legions as they started their attack. The oncoming Chaos Warped army staggered but then continued onwards as the Catapults opened up on the oncoming army.

Jacob was gasping for air and had a massive headache as the transformations finally ended. Both his Mana and Stamina bars were strobing brightly and showing that he had less than five percent left in each. Jacob immediately downed Mana and Stamina Potions to jumpstart his regeneration as he looked at the oncoming Chaos Warped.

Ammunition from Mana Cannons, Death Wagons, Mangonel, and Ballista rained down on the oncoming Chaos Warped, hundreds if not thousands were dead or dying. "Well, I think you made them angry. Nice job." Darren quipped as he ran up.

Suddenly the oncoming armies entire right flank in enveloped in magic and crossbow bolts as two Legions attack from the west. The defenders howl in approval as the attackers staggered and for the first time they faltered in their assualt. Jacob could see some of them looking back, but based on their movements, they would face their problems head-on.

Suddenly more horns sounded from the east and north-east as the War-Horde of the Southern Orc Tribes arrived and poured onto the field. Ten thousand more troops slammed into the Chaos Warped eastern flank. Caught between the Legions and the oncoming War-Horde, the Chaos Warped army collapsed.

Alexi was stunned as he watched as his whole army slowly being destroyed. Grimlock grabbed him before he can do anything, "Open a portal, we are leaving." He commanded the Chaos knights as he quickly subdued the other Chaos Lord and dragged him kicking and screaming towards where a portal was opening.
