Today, like everyday since I was attacked by the prince one month ago, I am standing in front of Veyna armed with a wooden sword, with Fiona and Estiel as our spectator.

Since I was attacked, I though that I had to become stronger so that I can protect myself; I can't rely on Verlox to defend me forever.

This spar rules are different from my sword exam; last time I only used martial arts, but this time I will also use magic.

I engaged the fight with a preemptive strike to her left which she easily blocked, I then pressed my attacks on her to keep her into defending. I learned from our spar experience that she far more skilled at attacking than countering, I know from our sparing experience that if I let her start to attack me, I will surely be defeated.

While she was busy dodging and deflecting my attacks, I secretly poured my mana into the ground; within this month, I learned by myself how to use the elements and mana around me to cast quick spells without any incantation; the spells I learned with mom and dad are mostly powerful spells which take a moment to cast and which are made by only using my own mana. Making spells using the mana around make them weaker but far faster to cast.

With the mana I poured into the ground, I secretly made the ground behind Veyna turn into mud, I then pressed my attack on her and managed to make her lose her footing in the mud. I didn't let the opportunity pass and slashed at her body.

Veyna : " Not bad... " She said with a confident grin.

She unexpectedly threw her sword at my legs which made me fall, my slash lost it's strength and she then tried to grab my wooden sword, she pulled it to get me closer to her and tried to grab my wrist, but before that happened, I left the sword go and instead grabbed the one she threw before.

She got out of the mud I made and rushed at me; I know from experience that if she manage to make me go in defence, she will certainly win. I poured my magic in the air around me and threw gust of wind at her which slowed her and broke her stance.

I took the opportunity and aimed at her arm; but it was a trap, she loosened her stance on purpose to bait me into attacking, she easily deviated my sword and aimed at my neck, her sword stopped just a little before hitting it.

Veyna : " *fufufu* My win...your promise... "

Shina : " *Muuuh* Fine... " I answered in a low voice.

Estiel : " I told you before to not accept that condition, but you didn't listen to me. " She said sighing.

Shina : " I know, but she didn't accept any compromise ! "

Veyna : " Tonight... my room... " She said with her habitual little grin.

Veyna accepted to spar with me at the condition that each time she win I will have to sleep in the same bed as her; it's not that it feel bad sleeping with someone hugging you, but it's been one month that I sleep with her... She recently even proposed that I come live in her room... I miss my previous room a little.

Veyna : " Shina... tomorrow... any plan?... " She asked me with her habitual inexpressive face.

Shina : " Tomorrow? There are no class so not really. " I answered her tilting my head, I can see a grin on her face.

Veyna : " Wanna... go into the city...with me? "

I was surprised at her question, when the students enter the school they aren't allowed to come out excepted when it's vacation, the only time when they are allowed to get out of the school to go back home.

The gate of the school are even watched by guards, you can only get out with an authorization from the principal or the teacher.

Shina : " You got the authorization ? " I asked her, I really want to go in the city and see how normal peoples live in this world.

Veyna : " No need... I am the school president "

Shina : " Sure, I wanna go ! " I energetically replied.

Estiel : " WAIT, we are coming too ! " Yelled Estiel.

Veyna : " Why?...Refuse. " She replied with an annoyed face.

Estiel : " Because I am afraid of leaving her with you in a city, I am already reluctant to let her sleep in your room, and now you want to bring her to the city alone with you?! "

Fiona : " Estiel just want to go together with you, but she is too shy to say it. " She said with smile.

Estiel : " I-It's not true ! I-I just need to protect Shina from my sister ! " She tried to justify with a crimson face.

Veyna : " Tch... "

After sparing within the little spare time we had between morning class and noon, we went to the cafeteria to eat. It went like everyday, me sitting on Veyna's legs and eating with everyone in the cafeteria staring at us, there were even some girls coming at us, asking Veyna if they could pet me... 'I am not a pet !' is what I shoot to them, but they only smile looking at me and keep asking Veyna, who by the way don't really like to share me with others... I feel like I really became pet...

We finished eating and went to our facultative class, I went to the archery class with Fiona; at first I though she was around my level, but it seem that I was wrong; she can easily manage to hit a target at 80 meters in the center,through she has to take a lot of time to aim; she can't do it in rapidfire. She is really gifted with a bow, but what I love the most is the expression she always show after shooting an arrow.

I too can hit a target at 80 meters, but it is in the center 1 time out of 3 shot, Fen is a good teacher, he got a lot of experience and developped some little tricks in his travel to let him aim and shot faster.

He taught them all to us, but after that he said that his job was finished and that we will become better only by training, he is now only sitting on a chair in the room watching us aim at the targets.

I also managed to infuse my magic to my arrows which give them differents property depending on the elements of the mana

Using wind magic will make them faster and also make them able to easily pierce through rock, it also make it easier for me to touch the target; the arrow can slightly change it's course in midair.

When I tried to use fire magic, the arrow burned within a few seconds, I have to make a shield around the arrow and cover it with fire magic in order to make it possible.

This only make a simple fire arrow, but if I also add wind magic in the back or the arrow, it will leave a fire trail behind burning anything that touch it. It's duration depend on the amount of mana I add to the arrow, for now I can only make it last around 50 seconds.

Using earth magic will make the arrow heavier and harder, it only become heavier after I fire it so it is still easy to use.

And finally with infusing an arrow with water magic is... in itself pretty useless. It only make the target wet; is what I though first, but by slightly modifying the water's mana.

I can change it to ice and give the arrow the property to freeze a little area, nothing big, just around 15 centimeter around the arrow.

As to why I don't spar againsn't Veyna with a bow is because I don't think that I ll be fast enough to take an arrow from the quiver and shot it right after.

I could do it with the weapon I lost before coming in this world which allowed me to directly form magic arrow on it; if I were to do it with a real bow, it would be destroyed by the mana.

At first Fiona wanted me to teach her how to enchant arrow, I tried to teach her how to gather her mana, but she couldn't feel it. It may be because she isn't really good at magic, or maybe humans and demihumans can't manipulate their mana directly.

After archery's class I went back to my room... is what I would like to say, but I had to go to Veyna's room, I guess tonight she'll hug me all night once again... I still remember the first week after we began to spar, she asked me to become her official hugging pillow... will I one day manage to beat her?
