《Dragon Princess》Volume 2 Chapter 2 - Unpredictable Encounter

“Now then, I’ll explain a few things about this world. Kira should have told you that our guild is named Saviors, but do you know what a guild really is?” Kayan asked as she changed her posture on the throne.
“Let’s see… I suppose that it is something similar to an organization or a clan.” Thera supposed as she took in account the number of guilds that should exist thanks to the number given by Kira.
“This is pretty close, but not exactly.” She replied with a small giggle as she had expected Thera’s answer. “A guild is… a small kingdom.”
“A small kingdom?” Irsteal muttered doubtfully. More than twenty thousand people were summoned every ten years. If twenty was the average amount of people summoned, then it meant that there are almost a thousand guilds… a thousand kingdoms.
“This realm is actually almost ten times bigger than a regular planet and most of the lands belong to different guilds. In our case, we only own this castle and a hectare around it.”
“The fact that you managed to hold on in those conditions is pretty incredible.” Irsteal complimented her, knowing how difficult it should be to hold on while being powerless in war.
“This only show how rare people above soldier rank are. But even so, our enemies this time can’t be defeated just with the three of us.” Kayan said as her eyes showed a hint of anger.
“In short, this is a fight for supremacy.” Luna mumbled for the first time since the begin of the explanation.
Kayan momentarily thought about how to describe the situation.
“Yes and no… In the end, the true master is the realm master; Kurona. Her guild is managing the WhiteSun city not far from here. Although her guild reign supreme, the realm masters are more ‘arbitrer’ than players. Since she doesn’t take part in the battles as long as nobody provoke her or create trouble in her city, the other guilds are fighting for power.”
“The White Sun city is a place where guildless people can life without being oppressed by the other guilds,” Kira added.
‘That should be enough for now.’ Kayan thought as she stood up and walked toward Kira.
“I am sorry, but the rest will have to wait, you should hurry and meet Kurona now. Otherwise, it’ll take might take you a week to meet her.” Kayan said as she threw a meaningful look at Kira who had completely forgotten about this.
“That’s right!! We have to hurry up, follow me.” Kira said as she dashed toward Shina before carrying her like a princess and dashing out of the room.
Shina was surprised by Kira’s sudden action, yet she didn’t resist as she felt that the bunny woman had no ill intent.
As she was running, Kira felt two glare piercing her body.
Eniel was staring at her with a mix of envy and jealousy, muttering a ‘how nice…’ from time to time. Luna’s glare, on the other hand, was filled with anger and killing intent, seeing the way she picked and carried Shina on her own accord, it was for her disrespectful. The only reason she didn’t bring out her Ether Weapon and cut off Kira’s ears was because Shina didn’t resist and allowed her to do so.
Kira who was carrying Shina felt all her hairs and the fur of her ears stand because of the two stare. ‘Please stop staring at me… A rabbit is cardiac… I’ll die.”

Soon after the group left the room, only Kayan, Shun and Shan remained. Letting a sigh out, Kayan turned to Shun.
“Tell me, what do you think of them?” She asked.
Shun hesitated a few moment before answering. “I think that the giant one… Irsteal? That man is truly impressive, it is really rare for King to have that much power without receiving help from a Prismatic God. The same is true for the old man, it's clear that he survived through many battles, much more than me at least.” She said as she remembered the two men who were here previously.
“And?...” Kayan asked her to continue.
“Mhhh, they are very strong?” She cluelessly answered.
“Ahhhhhh… Shan, what do you think?” She asked her sister instead.
Shan made a wry smile as she looked at her sister who was now feeling down. “As she said, the two men are truly strong, but I suspect that this isn’t their current strength. They are also suspicious of us and hesitate to join the guild, I think that revealing your power to them wasn’t a good choice.”
The conclusion she made was the same as Kayan’s one, although she tried to make an estimation of their power, she felt that something was still wrong. As for revealing her power.
“If I hadn’t done revealed it, I would have lost their trust… Two of them noticed it.”
The sisters made a surprised expression when she heard this. Since Kayan was only reading the surface of their mind, it was extremely hard to detect and would need a very strong mind to sense it.
“Kazam, he noticed it only a few seconds after I entered his mind. I felt that if I didn’t truthfully answer his question, not only would he have not joined us but killed me in the spot.” She said as she recalled the old monster who looked like a normal blind old man.
“Who was the second one?” Shan asked in a serious tone.
Kayan recalled the girl from whose mind didn’t show a single opening, she was only a twelve years old catgirl, yet her beauty made her freeze the moment she saw her.
Beautiful long black hairs with a tinge of purple whose length almost reached her feet, two reddish eyes which looked like they were going to steal her soul with a single glance. Her golden clothes looked like orientals clothes, her bottom was a sort of mini short which showed her long pure white legs. It looked like it was made of golden scales and each were engraved with differents symbols.
Her top was short enough to show her navel and only stopped five centimeters below her small breasts. The skin exposed from those clothes was brighter than snow and her two naked small feet looked like two lotus.
Kayan first impression was that Shina was the daughter of a rich king from an oriental world, but when she saw her eyes she had her doubt. The strength behind them made her spine shiver as they were analyzing the room.
“It was the catgirl.” Kayan answered as her face became slightly red when she remembered the girl’s appearance.
Shan wasn’t really surprised when she heard this, how could someone whose ‘servant’ was a fairy goddess be simple? But there was something more urgent they had to discuss.
“Kayan, before you mentioned a Dark God. Was that true?” She asked as she changed the subject.
Not only Kayan but even Shun also felt that it was more important. Although they were happy from having summoned strong peoples, summoning a Dark God was something terrible.

Dark God, the name given to the Gods whose heart fell into darkness or the most ruthless criminals who ascended thanks to a Prismatic God. Summoning one of them often brought disasters to smalls guild and even medium ones.
Most of them possess a ruthless character and only follow the law of the strongest. They prefer to order than being ordered and the most of the time turned against their own guild, destroying them and killing their comrades.
“I am certain that her, the fairy and the fox woman are Gods since my power wasn’t enough to enter their mind. As for that Dark God, as long as we have Shina on our side I don’t think she’ll try anything.” She said as she tried to convince herself.
Not only did Kayan answer their question, but what she tried her best to analyze the people before her. She had noticed that Thera was the one who would be the easier to recruit.
With her sense of justice, it wouldn’t be that hard, she often glanced at her sister who was playing around, making sure she was alright.
But what about Shina? She didn’t interact that much before and didn’t reveal anything about her.
“The problem is… how can we recruit her.” Shan mumbled.
“We’ll have to find it out, if we manage to we’ll gain a precious ally during the games.”
“Money?” Shun who was left out of the conversation until now tried to join it, only earning Kayan’s scorn.
“Silence, don’t interrupt us!” Kayan made her shiver with a single glance after hearing her proposition.
With their position, Saviors had just enough money to feed their members, how could they pay her? If money was the solution, they would fall into the hands of the other guilds who were far more powerful and richer. After all, how could the perspective of acquiring three gods not be attractive?
“Not only do you interrupt us, but if I remember well you also ignored my order before.” Kayan said in a menacing tone as she remembered the moment when she allowed them to call her by her name.
“T-This is…” Shun began to tremble as Kayan glared at her, she wished that she could just run away and hide.
Shan quickly ran between the two of them as she saw Kayan’s anger. “My sister’s mistake is my mistake, please punish me instead.” She said as she kneeled before her.
“I see, fine! I’ll punish both of you all night, I’ll wait for you in my room.” Kayan answered with a little smile.
‘Punish all night’ Both of them knew what it meant and turned red, but they didn’t look unhappy. They, in fact, showed a little smile as they heard their master command.
‘I’ll take all my time tonight to love them...’ Kayan though as she resumed their previous meeting.
*********** ************** *********** **************** **************
Rushing toward the city at high speed, the group quickly arrived inside at the entrance of a city.
Thanks to the previous conversation with Kayan and the fact that they were going to meet Kurona, Shina quickly deduced that the city is ‘WhiteSun’. The headquarter of the realm master’s guild.
The city couldn’t be described as anything but majestic and gigantic. Having seen the rich capital of Theristid before, this city was at least five times bigger. But that was to be expected since they guildless people are allowed to live freely inside.
Shina’s first impression of the city was good, there were guards at the gates, but they didn’t stop them or ask them to pay a tax.
The city in itself was pretty clean and the first thing they saw inside were the shops.
Receiving people from many worlds for now millions of years, the city was a mixing pot. The food shop were selling many different kinds of food, there was even some vegetable of her original world.
There was even more restaurant which attracted the eyes of Thera and Kii whose mouth had a trail of drool. Many different races were walking in the city and living together, there were living in a perfect harmony.
Only Kira attracted some stare as she was guiding us. Since we entered the city she had carefully put down Shina since the stare in her back felt heavier with each second.
When we entered the city, Luna and Eniel had forgiven her. Or more precisely, they completely forgot about it the moment they saw the differents type of alcohol and sake which were being sold… Yes, Luna is a heavy drinker and she often drink with Eniel.
As for Irsteal and Kazam, they were interested in the differents kind of weapon shop and armor shop.
Kira decided to speed up her walking speed as she carefully walked toward them. She felt that if she took her eyes away for a single second, they would all disappear.
As for Nuya, she is quietly sleeping on Shina’s head since they met Kayan, she felt like too much information entered her head and almost lost conscious.
It didn’t take them a long time to arrive at a small Japanese building. It wasn’t a really large one, more like a small villa.
“Please be respectful inside, this is the realm master’s headquarter.” Kira warned them before knocking on the door.
A few seconds after, the door opened on its own like it was inviting everyone inside.
The inside was a single room made of tatami and a short table with hot tea served on it. “Please sit down.” Kira invited them inside on her own.
Irsteal frowned as he looked at her, ‘Didn’t she just say not to be disrespectful?’ he thought as he saw her act like it was her home.
“Please don’t misunderstand, this was prepared by lady Kurona, she already know that we arrived.”
Perhaps only Shina, Luna and Eniel noticed that they were inside a barrier and that they were allowed to enter by the one who formed it.
Satisfied with her answer, Kazam who was familiar with this type of room sat first, followed by the answer who were at first looking for a chair.
When they were about to begin to drink the tea, a door floating in the air appeared out of nowhere.
From the door came out a girl in her sixteen and a man.
The girl with short white hair was dressed in a black short kimono with some golden embroideries, the kimono was short enough to show her snow like legs. Her pure golden eyes were like Veralox’s one, but they were a little more bright than his. On her head are two long smooth horn, showing her relation with the Oni race.
The man on the other hand is far taller than her, while she only is a half head taller than Shina, the man exceeded the 1 meters 90. His short black hairs look very smooth despite being spiked and his cold black eyes with glasses give him a seductive cool look similar to an ice statue.
“You are pretty early Kira, or maybe you came to finally join my guild? Did you finally fall for me?” The woman said with a little smirk.
“Of course not lady Kurona!! They are the ones summoned by the Saviors guild.” Kira answered with a face showing a tint of red and her ears completely raised.
‘Is that so?...’ Kurona murmured with a tinge of sadness.
The man on the other hand didn’t say anything but kept on staring at Shina who was slowly drinking the tea in front of her.
Finally noticing the eight other people in the room, Kurona made a relieved expression.
“So you are Saviors new recruits?... My name is Kurona, the realm master of the third realm, and head of the guild ‘Purification’.” She introduced herself in a proud tone.
“Ahh, by the way, this is Lord Geidas.” She casually introduced the man who had summoned them.

Healing Dungeon
// DUNGEON Mechanics will start to appear around chapter 100+/Arc 3 of the story! \ Avan, a 25-year-old young man, is torn from his rather boring life. He awakens in Aorus, a world full of magic, monsters and dungeons. By a stroke of luck and an ominous skill called "Potential", he awakens a new class never seen before called Dungeonheart (Human). Dungeons, although sentient, are never sapient nor mobile. Join Avan as he pursues his passion for healing and martial arts, and building his very own dungeon at the same time. He’s the hybrid of a moving dungeon and a healer. "Healing Dungeon" will include City building, strategy, very little romance, exploration of the world of Aorus, and a touch of power levelling. (There are elements from other fantasy novels, as well as anime, games, and more). What will all be possible with a dungeon that can move, but still brings some of the familiar dungeon mechanics along for its journey? -- Please note that the beginning and thus the first chapters were really my first writing works in english, and can only be rewritten at a later time (lack of time in favor for new chapters) --(The writing style and also the story improves VERY much from the 12th chapter at the latest! Proofreading is available, but I depend on any well-intentioned advice from you guys). If you have any questions, suggestions, constructive criticism, or just because you feel like it, feel free to leave me a comment below the respective chapters! For every positive and serious review or rating, I am infinitely grateful! ;) I am a creature of few words and the beginning is therefore a little faster than I would have liked it now in retrospect. Please do not expect huge paraphrases and descriptions of the environments, but only what is really necessary to get into the scene. Cheers and hopefully see you in the comment section.
