[/Scanning_for_mineral...]
The machine slowly looks left and right as it carefully walks downs the dark tunnel, the machine had arrived this rocky area a few minutes ago, and judging the hard rock formation, the machine predicts that maybe it could find the needed raw metal ore pockets here. If the machine is lucky, it could stumble on an inactive volcano here since the machine does notice some parts of the rock closely resemble basalt rock formation.
The machine also wonders what ores really look like on this world, would the machine need to dig deep into the ground to find the ore or it is somewhat exposed on the surface of the tunnel for the machine to harvest, the content of those ores also makes the machine feel very curious, the machine wonders if it gonna discover any new element that its maker never knew of and how would those new elements affects the machine's constructs.
The machine keeps asking questions to itself while walking around and keeping its eyes open for any hints of ore and mineral pocket. Suddenly the machine get punched by something near the wall, the punch seems to have a lot of force and killing intention it in, and the hand also very tough and hard, it does not feel like a hand of a living being at all, that would be the first thing the machine would think of if the machine's CPU is a sharp human's brain.
But as the machine recovers its balance and looks around for the attacker, the machine sees nothing, the machine sees no movement and thermal reading only returns ambient temperature. And just as the machine returns to its normal stance, the machine feels something striking its back as the machine tumbles forward slightly, the machine is grateful for its maker had given the machine 4 legs instead of 2 as the machine would have crashed face first had the machine only had 2 legs and lost its balance completely.

The machine's green plasma blade protrudes out from its left arm as the machine uses it as a torch to lit up the area and switches to normal visible light view, there the machine found the assailants who attacked the machine, group of rock golems.
The machine thought those golems are actually robot as the machine swings its blade around and cuts down the golems without much effort, and after the fight the machine begins to wonder how these robots are made as the golem had no internal parts, it just a bunch of rocks bound to each other to form a humanoid or some kind of snake-like figure and move around to attack the machine in the dark, these golems have no body temperature so they are invisible in the machine's eyes if it is searching with infrared light. Luckily the golems are just a bunch of dum-dum who swings their big hands around randomly and has no teamwork ability unlike the bugs it fought earlier, they are not much of a threat but more of an annoying bunch in the machine's record.

The machine looks at the dead golem carefully as it wonders if the machine could assimilate the golem, but after spending a few minutes poking around, it seem like the answer is no, however, one notification pop up got the machine's attention completely.
[/Ore_found: Iron | Medium size]
[/Ore_found: Copper | Small size]
The machine notices some of the dead golem's body parts is highlighted in the machine's view, then the machine creates a new discovery record as it walks around to pick up the parts carefully to bring it back to its newly founded colony. The machine can actually use these dead golem parts for material as those golems are just a big pile of ore and mineral rich rocks walking around for the machine to cut down with ease. These ores can be processed into useful metal by using the fabricator just like the normal ore, or at least the machine thought so as it holds as much ore as it could and haul it back to its base in one go.
[/New_construct_avaiable: Basic container]
The machine enters the web and egg shell littered room as it places the ore down next to the fabricator before turning the construct on, for now, the construct is running on the machine's reserve power as there has no alternative source of power available yet.

The machine looks at the list of elements present in the Iron ore, Copper ore and the rock from the golems it defeated earlier for a moment before it starts refining some metal, the machine decides to refine from Iron first as it want to build a proper container to keep its ore and refined metal ingots in, aside from that the machine also want to build a door to block the entrances leading into the big room it is in, after all, it's better to stop animals or other lifeforms to move in and take over everything in the first place.

[Pioneer 0 gained new title: Constructor]
The machine ignores the pop-up message for now as the machine focuses on refining the metals and creating the list of components and parts needed for the containers and the gates. Then the machine leans back a bit as it waits for the fabricator to finish its work and shuts itself down to conserve power.

Arc the Human's hero.
It has been a full day since Arc and his companions returned to the village and informed everything they knew about the event to the adventure guild.
At first, no one believed their story, as expected, who would believe a group of people suddenly barged into the guild reception room and demanded to meet the guild's supervisor, then they began speaking about some kind of urban myth about an ancient undead roaming in the cave.
The detail of their story also raised many doubts and questions from the supervisor, like how could an undead withstand attacks from an Archon, a pure battle spirit?. A thunder spirit too, the Archon should be able to blow off even Greater Lich with ease with their insane physical power and magical attacks. Then he asked how could an undead not emit any unholy or tainted aura?. After all, the stronger the undead, the more ferocious they are. And for an undead strong enough to defeat an Archon with just one strike, even if that Archon is weak against fire, one hit kill would be something very hard to achieve, the supervisor thought the undead must be an Elder Lich or greater.
But then the supervisor remembered one of the Emperor's speeches which claimed reincarnators are not only among the normal Races, but sometimes they also have origins of feral beasts.
'Could this be it?'
The supervisor thought so as he dismissed Arc's party and dispatched a messenger to report this back to the main guild, however, Murphy somehow got the information first handed, as always.
After the event, Arc and his companions had been resting and continues their training by hunting weaker feral beasts in the lifeless forest, and now they are going to wait for a few more days as the Emperor decided to dispatch one of his loyal Imperial guards to the prospecting's village to investigate the event.
Arc looks at the ceiling as he lies down on a bed in an inn, wondering what Emperor Hito's Imperial guard would look like and what would he do if he has to go back into the cave to find that nightmarish abomination. Arc shudders as he thinks about it before looking over to Thekeg.
"Hey...Still awake?"-Said Arc as he gets up on his bed and leans on the wall relaxingly.
"Of course, no sleep will ever come to be without the booze. Want to say something, kid?"-The hairy dwarven fighter replies as he takes off his shirt and throws it aside before flopping on the bed lazily.
"If you still wanting to talk about that thing, kid, forget it. We got our compensation and our ranking hadn't changed when the supervisor decided to let it go. Beside, it will help you sleep easier. Arc"-Thekeg continues speaking with a huff and lazy tone as he turns his head to his left slightly to look at the troubled human companion of his.
"...How about booze then?. I heard that dwarven's wines are the best, yeah?"-Arc replies with a shrug while shaking his head slowly
"Now you are speaking it right, drinking contest, you, me and a girl I know downstair. Don't think you could win against Thekeg, though, we all know how bad you are when it comes to girl and booze, ya?"
"Shz. Says the 60 years old virgin!"-Arc replies loudly with a chuckle as he dashes out of the room and runs downstair as quick as he could before the dwarven understood what he just said, the dwarven laughs quietly as he cries internally for a moment before he hops off the bed to put on some shirts and leave his room to join the fun as much as he could before a new adventure trip begin.

A Prose of Years
For decades, spiritualist Evert Kallstrom and his team have joined in humanity’s millennia-long fight against the beasts. Wielding their weapons and their ki, they fought and killed these great threats to civilization. And yet, despite their efforts, humanity was losing traction in the war. In the last fifty years alone, more cities had been overrun than in all of known history. While most thought the great beasts natural, a few knew the terrible truth. They were the product of a dark lord, who desired neither fame nor wealth nor power. Instead, his sole purpose was the genocide of humanity. While their peers dithered, a small faction of the strongest mankind had to offer—including Evert Kallstrom and his team—set out towards the Deadlands to find and confront this dark lord. After weeks of travel, twenty-one spiritualists found themselves approaching an ancient fortress wherein rested a being known only as the Eastern Guardian. All they found was death. But death has other plans for Evert. Evert bolts awake in his 16 year old body near his hometown, decades in the past. He is confused, poor and weak. But with grit, sweat, and years of experience, he won't let the future repeat itself. That level of strength won't be enough by itself (it wasn’t last time) and victory is hardly assured (he’ll need to reach farther and higher than he ever did), but Evert refuses to squander a second chance. [Other tags: First Person POV, Hard Magic, Faulty Memory] Volume 1 is complete and has been fully released. My current intention is not to write any sequel volumes. That said, I have also released appendices (SPOILERS) that cover the worldbuilding and future story-that-never-was. Comments suggesting fixes for grammar, misspellings, etc. appreciated. Note: If you came here from Candlelit Lives, these stories have nothing in common.
