Chapter 27
What is it about sleep that makes it just so darn enjoyable? Is it the feeling of being refreshed? Well, whatever it is, it worked its magic on me. I feel way better now.
I opened my eyes and saw the ceiling of the workshop. That’s right. I have eyes now! I looked around testing the limits of their range. It was just like a normal person, though when I hit the ‘edge’ of my vision it felt like something blocked any further movement. Perhaps if it wasn’t there I could see the inside of my head. Not that I’d want to though.
I tried lifting myself up and found that I couldn’t.
I had to discharge the arms and legs to vent some of the magic build up.
Turning my head I saw that Advice was right. In fact, looking around the room… what the hell happened in here?! There is red liquid all over the place. I thought it was blood at first but the color is too bright.
I actually don’t know either. I was too busy to take notice. However that liquid is magical residue, most likely coming from the overload.
Then I made this mess. I don’t see the dwarf or the Saintess anywhere. Well, first things first, let’s get mobile. I try moving, but only my head really reacts how I want. The body I can only wiggle side to side.
This would be a good time to use your new skill [Blood Shard].
Oh!...
I shall explain its use.
…Thanks.
[Blood Shard] is a skill that enables the user to condense magic in the air into solid objects. The shape and function is entirely dependent on the user’s imagination. Higher levels of this skill allow more complex shapes and usage.
That…is… awesome! Let’s try it out immediately! I try activating the skill and somehow knowledge of its basic usage appears in my head. I have to condense the magic… there! Ten crimson colored crystals that are about a foot long appear and land next to me.

Now to control the crystals. I try imagining them in the shapes of arms and legs. Smooth and sleek, just like a robot from the future. The crystals are pulled in the right places. Some break apart into smaller sizes. I try pushing them against my body and finishing the process.
But… they don’t stick and they don’t combine into the sleek look I imagined before. I guess it’s a failure…
Some red hair fell down in my eyes. Unconsciously I tried to move a hand to brush it aside. Imagine my surprise when the crystals I thought had failed to connect, moved! I looked once again at my arm. The crystals were floating there. Each one didn’t touch another, but they still resembled the overall shape of a limb. Both arms and legs were the same.
“So a half success.”
I spoke! Words came out of my mouth, along with some black smoke. Finally I can talk and communicate with other people. The sound was weird though. It wasn’t high pitched like I thought it would be and it wasn’t low and masculine either. Huh. Well the important thing is that I can speak.
I unsteadily stood up. A few times I thought I would fall over, but I managed to keep my balance. My practice with the Saintess’ body was not in vain! After a bit I was able to walk without any difficulty.
“Alright, now to find the Saintess and the dwarf.”
Looking around again I finally realized what a mess this place had become. Things were smashed and broken. Magic goo was everywhere and there was a table that had been overturned.
Could they have escaped through that wall?
I turned to the direction Advice was talking about and saw the outline of a large person in the wall. Did… someone just walk through the wall?

There is also a new addition to your status.
New addition? Better check it then.
“I wonder how I’m doing today?... Damn it! It’s become a habit!”
It seems my overall status has changed along with my race. Crimson elemental pebble… It’s like no matter what I do, the pebble part will never go away. The Saintess’ status was the same but with only her titles changed, and that she was no longer my host. Under her however, was a new entry.

What the heck IS this thing?
I would assume it was the giant armor?
Oh yeah there was that, wasn’t there… Did it go on a rampage or something? I get this feeling that Saintess and the dwarf were attacked.
I stepped through the hole and out onto the street. A few men and women in armor were running past. Some stopped when they came near me.
“You there! This area has been evacuated! An unknown assailant was seen rampaging through the streets chasing a woman with purple hair and a dwarf. It’s not safe here.”
“Was it a giant armor thingy?”
“Yes it was.”
“Crap, I thought so.”
“You thought so? Actually, who or more like what, are you? Can you please show me your citizenship card?”
“I… uh… left it in... my other body?”
“You’re acting very suspicious. Allow me to take you into custody and question you.”
Crap! I didn’t even think about stuff like this! Not thirty minutes into having a body and I’m already being arrested. Looks like the jig is up.
Suddenly an explosion rings out and smoke fills the air. It looks like it was a couple streets over. The guards all look in that direction.
“…Chance!”
“H-hey, wait a minute! Don’t just stand there you idiots, capture that thing!”
I dash off towards the explosion, praying that I don’t trip.
