《Infinity Loop》Loop 3 Day 148-365

Hi, my name is Caelus. I’ve lived for far longer than I should have. The longest span of time humans can hope for, is a hundred fifty at best.
This diary is just a small collection of my earliest, or most important, memories.
Loop 3 Day 148
I am going over the cameras I had Chelsea plant. They are all over the city we live in, and the surrounding area. They are all in good places, but I tell her that a few of them need adjusting.
She is being super sweet by helping me do something I know she doesn't believe in. The fact that she is helping me further proves her love and care for me.
I don’t have any other work for her at the moment. The cameras are going to show us the exact level of destruction the bombs cause. If any of them stay online, I am going to check the area around them.
With the underground base fully operational, I decide to go collect about thirty other people. The people will be used to repopulate after the bombs drop.
I understand that my base can hold many tens of times that, but at this point I still fear if others would try to take my base over.
I go to the store I work in. I try to convince a few of my co-workers about what will happen in the next few days.
None of them really believe me, except this creepy guy I don’t want to join me. As the conversations continue, I start to lose interest in keeping them alive. I persevere though. I tell them some of the bigger info that I remember.
My plan is to build up cred in order to make them come with me later. I plant the seed of thought into their heads, and leave. I make sure to stop and talk to a lot of people on my back home.
I have been collecting materials for the past few days. I knew I would need a lot of resources. I already have oil and the tools to create gunpowder.
Chelsea and I convince her family to visit my underground bunker. The trip through every part of the building took hours to complete. I do not show them the gunpowder factory, nor the shooting range. They seem to feel awkward at best.
I don’t ask them to move in, at least not yet. After the attacks start, and the military takes over, then I’ll ask. For now, this is a fun little place to be. I do ‘jokingly’ tell them that if channel x were to show a quickly aging, aggressive and powerful being, then we could all stay here.
I add in enough details to let them be able to figure it out when they see it on television. I’ve seen the newscast twice now after all.
I decide that it would be best to remodel part of the large common room, as a nursery. That way future generations will be able to play safely.

Chelsea and I talk about our future plans. We decide to go exploring after the bombs drop. If any cameras are still working that is. She seems reluctant, but willing.
I go to several places, and finally find a place that sells hazmat suits. As I enter the used military gear store, I buy the entire stock. There are 100 variously sized suits. Some even for children. Although I don’t think I’ll be having children leave the underground base.
I also get a Geiger counter. That way I am going to be able to see if the bombs that are going to be dropped are radioactive. I don’t know if they are.
I start researching what could cause such an effect. Particles coming apart doesn’t sound like a nuke.
Loop 3 Day 165
For the past week I’ve looked into bombs that would dissipate particles. And many bombs produce the huge flash of light. I decide to do more research into it tomorrow.
Today is the day of the first news broadcast. Today they tell the world about the start of the outbreak.
As always, we are watching the news channel when it is announced.
A clean-cut gentleman walks into the room on the newscast. He hands the newscasters a paper. The news caster looks like he just heard a joke.
“Folks, it appears that we have confirmed reports of, angry old people?”
He looks around as if someone is talking to him.
My eyes are swimming. It’s happening again! It’s the same newscast! The caster starts again.
“It appears that the rapidly aging phenomenon has come with some serious alterations. The aging people have become stronger, and more aggressive. We were advised to warn all viewers to avoid anyone that has been aging rapidly, or appears more aggressive than usual.”
Chelsea’s mom and dad look at me, stupefied.
This was the exact newscast that I had told them would happen. Down to the clothes and expressions used.
They still don’t believe me. Why the hell don’t they believe me!? They think I’m pulling some sort of prank. I like to joke a lot so I understand.
I am pissed that I have more work to do to convince them. If I try telling them I’m from the future I might be sent to the nut house again.
I calm myself down, and return with Chelsea. We discuss how to make her family believe me. Freaking out definitely won’t help. She seems to think I can just go to the past anytime I want.
I explain that I have to die to do that, and it only happened twice. I doubt it would happen again. I have this sinking feeling that this is my last chance.
Loop 3 Day 200
I paid men to build a secret tunnel. It wasn’t big, or well made, but it would do the job. My research about the bombs led me to one conclusion.
It has to be some sort of Anti-Matter bomb. I don’t know how someone managed to make that, or who made it, but that was the only solution that made sense to me.

Loop 3 Day 240
For the past few months I’ve been telling Chelsea’s family about future events. Joking around about being from the future.
Today I convince Chelsea’s family I’m from the future. I remember that a company building was broken into in the past loops. After telling them this, and giving them the casualty numbers, they finally believe me.
Although Chelsea’s sister, Susan, thinks I am a horrible person for not helping the people out. I don’t mind though, I know they will be safe at least.
Things are horrible now. Constant attacks by the aging demons. The military has begun to walk the streets, although they are not enforcing martial law yet. That will come in about a month.
They want their family in the surrounding cities to come as well, but I say no. For one, half of that family turns even before the bombs, secondly they will not prove helpful in the post-bomb society I am building.
Of course I explain it in a totally unrelated way, saying that they will all turn and try to kill us. Luckily it isn’t difficult for me to keep track of large amount of lies, not with my level of memory.
I am still able to recall everything that has happened in loop 2 and this loop. It is astounding. I can even relive moments completely, if I want to.
The worst part about it is I remember the bad parts too. Everything has a price.
I invite many people into my little barrier housing. Thirty women, and twenty men. I know that I need at least twenty women and fifteen men to sustain a genetically diverse breeding population.
They are hard to convince, so I begin to lie. I tell them I lead an organization that is focused on defeating the ‘Irregulars’. I make a contract for them to sign, and make it seem very official.
When I let the people in, I drove them to the secret tunnel entrance, blindfolded the entire time of course, and led them through the maze.
Some people try to convince me to let their families in. When I refuse, some turn to violence. I force those ones out.
I tell the remaining ones, “This is the reason there are so many of you. If you think you can overpower me… Well good luck getting the food harvested, or getting guns and ammo.”
I use the fear of starvation and not having protection to keep them in line. I assign work loads.
Most people are on cleaning and maintenance duty. They will make sure the living area in my building remain livable.
A four person team is assigned to checking mechanical equipment. Of course the only have access to tools or areas if I give permission.
The rest of the people are put to work doing various needed activities. Such as weapons practice, manning the weapons cage, preparing food, etc.
I hole myself up in the only room with a computer. The common room has game systems and televisions, they don’t need computers as well.
The computer room is separated from the other parts of the building. It can only be accessed by a long hallway that only I have access to. It has several screens which watch every part of my bunker.
I do not tell the new people about the cameras positioned everywhere. I made sure to put the cameras in extremely hard to reach areas, and to make them indistinguishable. All of them were behind something like a two way mirror.
The difference is that it isn’t a mirror, but a two way wall. One side looks like a wall, the other side looks transparent.
Loop 3 Day 364
I give everyone a day off of the duty charts. Tomorrow is a big day. We are all together as it approaches.
The bombs drop tomorrow. I hope we survive. If not, this will all be for nothing. I gather everyone around.
Some I put in confinement. They want to rush out and be with their families. They will feel resentment towards me, but as long as we all live it will be fine.
We are watching the news. Everyone tries to ignore the faint cries of anguish from the confinement area. It works for short amounts of time.
Everyone is rapt with attention. I feel a tingling in my skin. Maybe a sign that I’ve changed the future enough for us to live.
Loop 3 Day 365
Today the bombs are dropping. The frantic cries of those in confinement have died out. They probably are accepting the reality of the situation.
The news reported people showing strange signs of something akin to the ‘supernatural’. They seemed to posses some other-worldly powers. No two powers were exactly the same.
None of us believed it. Then came the reports of the bombs.
The bombs were straight out of a sci-fi novel. They didn’t explode, or implode. They didn’t seem to do anything. Every time one of the bombs was shown, it just disappeared. Just like all of the matter around it.
Suddenly the news show turned to static. We felt a rumbling in the ground. The entire bunker began to shake violently.
Did I mess up? Are we going to die anyway?
After a few seconds the shaking stops.
We are still alive! We haven’t died!
I check the cameras that Chelsea placed. A few of them haven’t been destroyed! This kept getting better and better.
I gather a few people that are good shots, we grab protective gear including the hazmat suits, and head outside.
We need to see if the counter reacts. If it doesn’t then my theory about anti-matter just makes even more sense.
I open the door that can only be opened by me, and we are outside.
