Chapter 31 Day 7

We both are staring at each other, Oh crap this is bad! She can really read my mind now!

I think we should talk out loud the others are staring wondering what is going on...I look and see Doc and Cindy looking at us with confused expression.

“The headache is gone Doc, thanks!”, I say to him and give him a weak smile.

“Um yeah mine is gone too Doc.”, Julie follows up also with a weak smile.

“Huh? What is going on you two?” Cindy says with a raised eyebrow.

Umm well, I can hear Scott in my head,.... “, Julie begins and I finish”...and I hear Julie in my head”.

“What?This is simply amazing”, The Doc cries out in amazement.

I look at him with a pained expression,” amazing? do you understand what that means Doc, she will know everything about me! There will be no more secrets!”

“So you do have something to hide Scott?”, She Julie asks with an accusing look.

“Scott do you have something to tell us” Cindy also now has an accusing look on her face.

“No no no nothing at all” I say god I hope she does not look at her status

“Status!” Julie cries out.”huh? What is this I can access Scott's status too?”

“Scott Smith status” she says with an evil grin.

“What is this Scott? Sexual Stamina? It is higher than my any of my stats with the exception of my Intellect and Wisdom? Scott what is going on here? She says astonished

“322! can you imagine that?” Julie says to Cindy and they both give me a dirty look.

“No wonder........” Cindy begins

Thank god they do not know about the blue pills I have....I think to myself and just as suddenly oh shit.

Yes indeed Scott, oh shit indeed, now what about blue pills?

“I, um, well you see, I uh, have these blue pills that my profession gave me” I say out loud since Julie will just tell Cindy anyways.

“What kind of blue pills Scott?” Cindy asks accusingly again.

“Male enhancement” I whisper embarrassed.

“SCOTT you didn't? On that night? Did you?” Cindy and Julie both say in disbelief.

“y..yes”, I whisper and nod, head down.

“Wow, no wonder. Do you have any idea how sore I was the next morning??” Julie says angry now.

“Not just you, I cold barely walk that morning”, Cidy now looks at me angrily too.

“Hand them over!” Cindy walks up to me and holds out her hand.

I Sigh, “open inventory” I then select the pills and give them to Cindy who promptly puts them in her inventory

“There confiscated!

Oh my I hope we get to use those pills again soon I hear Julies voice and then look over at her, she looks at me then blushes furiously.

With Julie feeling better, against the Doctors orders she got out of bed, and we head for the Cafeteria to grab breakfast, it is now 9:24 am.

We arrive and grab our food, the staff as always now lately outdo themselves, the breakfast is amazing every morning.

I check my Barony status for updates and see a message due to increased work force upgrade times sped up by 10%. Good news indeed.

What is good news?

The upgrades have been sped up by 10% according to the Barony report with the added labor you supplied.

"Will you two stop it? I am feeling left out here you know?", Cindy complains when Julie and I went silent and were just staring at each other.

I lean over and kiss her, “Sorry honey, it is going to take some getting used to. I love you .”

“Well as long as you two do not make it a habit, I am kind of feeling jealous here.” Cindy says with a pout

“I am Sorry sweety, I will make sure to speak openly from now on, right Scott?” Julie says then glares at me.

“Uhh yeah right no more hidden thought!” I say with remorse.

The Captain of the Guard, Winford arrives as we finish our breakfast “My Lord the upgrades are proceeding ahead of schedule! We should see results withing a month or so.”

“Very good captain”, I say to him already knowing this “anything else?”

"Yes my Lord with the upgrades we will require additional guards, at least 100, if not more. My Lord” He says to me.

“Hmm 100 more guards? Where can we find that many more?” I ask at a loss.

"Pardon my lord ,but if you were to put out a notice thru out the Barony, you would attract such people in no time. Then we could get them trained and ready by the time the upgrades are due.”

“A Notice?” I ask.

“Yes my lord, as the Baron you can send out notices to your Barony.” He says to me with a smile.

I open my Barony status menu and browse around and finally find the notice section, I open it and find, create new Notice options, Wow this is neat, I can make all kinds of requests to the people of the Barony and update them of things with this notice section!

Wow that does sound neat, are you going to send one out to hire guards?

"You two are doing it again!", Cindy complains.

“I am so sorry honey, umm I just found the notice section and was thinking how neat it was and what I can do with it.” I say to her and apologize.

I then flick thru the notice sections, find what I need and select it, then send it out.

MESSAGE FROM THE BARON!Hear Ye Hear Ye! To the citizens of the Barony!

The Barony is now hiring 100 new guard positions at a rate

of 7 gold 33 silver per month. All interested parties requesting

employment are to report to the Keep

"Hey what is this? I got a message from the Baron?"

"Is that from Scott?"

"Wow 100 new guard?"

I hear people all around me saying. Hey wait a minute, if they got this message then...HOLY SHIT

What Scott...err "What is it Scott?", Starts to think then catches herself and speaks.

"Give me a sec Kitten", as I look thru notices again and create my message as fast as I can think it ans then with a smile I send it out.

MESSAGE FROM THE BARON!To All Survivors, we are in the High School east of town.

It is safe zone. All will be welcomed! Come quickly,

we have food and drink for all!

Now that really came in handy, I hope everyone alive gets it

Everyone is buzzing now excitedly at the new message.

“What message? I did not see a message”., says one of the 17 hold outs.

“Neither did I” says another hold out.

"Damn I was hoping that would have worked!” I slam my fist on the table, it bends.

Both Julie and Cindy take my arms in theirs,”It is not your fault Scott you tried, that is all you can do”,

they console me.

It is now 9:44 am of day 7 and we take our dishes to the assembly line, “well guess I will go check on the upgrades and see how they are coming along, really excited to see them finish.”

9:45 am

I take a step and freeze, my body will not move anymore form my periphery I see others frozen as well. I can not talk what the hell is this I can not move

Neither can I Scott what is going on?

The message disappears

What the hell was that? And just as suddenly I am able to move again. Several people, the hold outs, begin to glow.

"What the hell is this?"

"What is going on here?"

"Am I being initiated?"

They all fall down as one. I rush over to them, and look at them their eyes are still open unmoving, not breathing. I check their pulse, they have none. Everyone is watching me and the Doctor comes running in, someone had called for him. I look up at him and say” They are all dead!”.
