《Life Once Again》Chapter 43

The following morning was taken up with Medici, signing magical contracts and ironing out our agreements and boundaries. He was immediately taken to the alcohol storage place to pick up the alcohol he bought.
‘Really a money tree.’
I asked how he was going to pick all these things up but apparently, he had already bought the latest Udonavon storage device that wasn’t even on the market yet.
Apart from that, things had started to get busy as the various dignitaries had already started building out their residences on the lands they bought. A large number of labourers had already come and bought up a large amount of rooms in some of the hotels and motels I owned. A lot of them had to be issued temporary ids that would be revoked when they finished their work.
‘Well, that's that.’
I was going to a meeting with the builder of the resort city I was building on the coast of my territory. In order to make it a premier vacation spot, I had to make the place as visually pleasing as possible.
I had decided that the resort will be divided into upper and lower hotels/accommodations based on the price you are willing to pay. And I will make sure that price is worth it.
I made the snap decision to add the floating sections of the city and that means I will have to do some complicated magic to get them there before attaching a whitefyre orb to power them indefinitely and I was going to get that all done today. I had already spent some time creating incredibly large and powerfully dense whitfyre orbs that were a major improvement of my original design. Now I just needed the floating flat surface and I knew just how to do that.

‘I do have some mountains that are barren of precious metals and gems, they would be perfect.’ I made sure to scan the whole territory prior to any building. One has to know what they are working with.
I walked into the meeting area and a dwarf was there waiting for me.
“You took your time, didn’t you boyo? You know how expensive I am and you’re still late.”
I looked at the dwarf in front of me. He was shorter than the average human with brown hair, eyes and a scruffy looking beard on his gruff face. He was the owner of the building company and an experienced builder himself, some might even say the best. He was also quite a few centuries old.
“I apologize for my tardiness.” I nodded to him as I sat across from him.
“So, what do you mean by upper? I looked at the plans and I can't decipher what it says.” I nodded at that.
“I am going to create a floating section of the city that hangs a few hundred feet from the ground. My plan is to make the centermost floating city a hotel/casino experience while the four cardinal floating satellite sections will be personal residences. I’ll auction them to prospective buyers eventually.” He looked at me with an indiscernible expression before just nodding at me.
“So? When are we going to get this done?” He finally asked.
“Now.” I stood up and created a portal that led to the mountainous region in my territory. I walked through the portal and looked back to see that he still hadn't followed me through.
“Well?” I looked at him as he hesitated before entering the portal and arriving at the mountain range.
“How are you going to do this?”

He asked while looking at the range. The mountains were huge, extremely huge and I had already selected five adequately sized mountains for this very purpose. The one I’d put in the middle would be the largest and the satellites would be a little smaller.
I took a deep breath then exhaled.
‘This is going to be the most intensive magic I’ve done in this life.’
I closed my eyes and brought up the magic formula in my mind. It was purpose built to sever a mountain at a specific point, the base for this, and float and flip it, leaving it suspended for a few hours until the magic spent runs out. I’ll use that time to etch an improved version of the floating array I had previously designed all those years ago on the mountain. The array will not only hold the mountain up perpetually, It would also create a field that surrounds the mountain that prevents anything from falling.
I allowed my mana to flow outward and form magic circles of varying sizes that interconnected with each other. The mountain in front of me took on a soft bluish glow as it lifted off a seemingly flat surface for quite a few feet before orienting itself upside down. I took a portal to the now flat surface of the upside down mountain and allowed my magic to carve in on the array on every surface of the mountain. It took a few minutes but after a while, all that was left to do was place the improved whitefyre orb in the center and connect it to the circuit.
I lifted my arm with my palm facing upward and the orb appeared as if from a different dimension.
‘Inventory spell, ever useful but tricky.’ I had to anchor the inventory space I opened to myself and it required a lot of mana to do.
The orb that came out was as tall as I was and glowed with an intense light because it generated untold amounts of magic continuously. I floated the orb down to the center of the array and connected it to the circuit. The array glowed an intense blue as the effect took place, before dimming and hiding in a different dimension.
‘Don’t want anyone to possibly decipher it.’ I looked around the flipped mountain that was big enough to house a small town and smiled.
‘One down, four more to go.’ In the next few hours, I completed the four ‘satellites’ to the main mountain and went down to meet the master builder. He had been just silently watching me all this time. I walked over and turned to see the five floating mountains, all powered by their own orb.
“It’s magnificent.” He finally broke the silence.
“Yes, I know.” We kept staring at them for a while before he finally broke the silence.
“How are you going to get them all to the building site?” I turned to him and smirked.
“You’ll see.”

Blood Quest - A LitRPG
Leon's family has been diagnosed with a new type of incurable blood disease. It's an absolute death sentence and when it turns aggressive, you only have a few more years of painful life left to live. His mother has just begun the last years of the disease when a person supposedly comes back from death with supernatural abilities. He talks about a choice you get after death--get an extra chance to come back to life, or die. Even with Leon's diminishing life span, he won't consider the option of going there, until he meets another survivor who had the same goal as him and succeeded. Leon has a choice to make—die now for a chance to save his mother, or die in a few years, where the disease rapidly melts his muscles from his own body. He enters a game-like world, a sort of limbo, where his ultimate goal is to climb the tower of Katastroph before his mother's time runs out. There are a few problems with this though. The tower is almost impossible to beat, if you die you won't revive, and only three people in over twenty years have actually made it back. Leon has two years to climb the tower, with the help of the few people willing to try, while Ai, the tutorial guide, makes things harder for them. ***** The story starts pretty dark but goes onto a lighter tone. Then (more) dark again. Disclaimer: This story is an experimental project and I hope to get any and all feedback you can give me. Warning: First draft. Chapters tend to be between 3400-4100 words long (about 8-11 A4-pages). Mentioning it since I've seen it in other fictions :P Sometimes they're shorter, sometimes they're longer. ******************************** CHAPTER RELEASES UPDATE: As the first "book" in the series is done, I'm going to release coming chapters somewhat sporadically, and when Writathon ends, I'll probably go back to publishing one chapter per weekend. We'll just have to wait and see! I hope you enjoy the story! I really appreciate all comments and feedback, so if you have anything to say, feel free to voice it :) ************ [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

Death Cultivator (Cultivator in Another World Vol. I & II)
Fight for your Soul. New cultivator Grady Hake thought his problems would disappear when he became a member of the strongest gang on the prison planet, but all it did was thrust him into the kill-or-be-killed world of the Eight-Legged Dragons. Now if he wants to survive, he’ll have to learn to cloak his deadly Spirit attacks in shadow, control the ancient revenant trying to take over his mind, and defeat the Angel of Death who dropped him on Van Diemann in the first place. Death Cultivator is sci-fi / isekai / wuxia / western / whatever, sort of like Borderlands meets Hunter x Hunter. I wanted to write something entertaining and actiony with that shonen vibe, so here's hoping this hits the spot. Warning: This isn't an isekai where the MC immediately becomes OP and starts revenge-killing everyone once he gets Death powers. Death is coming, but it's a slow burn. Like some of the reviewers for Volume I mentioned, the MC has a past and it effects his actions and choices in the new world.
