《Heavenly Will》Chapter 13 - The Market

Tianlong City, the closest city to Greencloud Region, although not the biggest in the Divine Wind Empire, it still extends for more than six hundred kilometers at the foot of the Greencloud Mountain Range.
Being situated at the foot of the Greencloud Mountain range, although not the biggest city, Tianlong City could still be considered one of the most flourishing cities in the Divine Wind Empire.
Every day there will be martial cultivators and mercenaries that enter the Green Cloud Mountain Range to hunt magical beasts and search for medicinal herbs. This Mountain Range is very mysterious, no one knew how far it stretched but even in the first few kilometers inside the mountains there would be occasional mysterious encounters.
Some stumbled upon precious herbs or encountered rare magical beast. Those who stumbled upon precious herbs could be considered fortunate but among those who encountered powerful magical beast most of them will meet a miserable end.
Every part of a magical beast could be sold for money, the most precious part being it’s core. A practitioner could absorb the energy from those cores to further their cultivation, that’s why magical beast cores were sought everywhere. However, magical beasts were usually much stronger than human practitioner. A magical beast of the same realm could fight against a human practitioner with several layers higher.
In Tianlong City the average cultivation of human practitioners is around the early stages of Xiantian Realm, the strongest person being at the first layer of Spirit Profound Realm. That being said, even the strongest person in the Tianlong City could barely fight against a peak Xiantian magical beast by himself.
Even so, because of the high value of the magical beast cores, many mercenary groups specialize in killing magical beasts for a living.
…..
Qing Yun, Qing Su and Su Fen made their way through the wide streets. Not after long, they arrived at a market that’s slightly south from the Su Clan. Looking at his surroundings, Qing Yun couldn’t help but be surprised, the streets were at least ten meters wide but they were packed with people, the bustling noise raised to the sky. What surprised him even more was the huge signboard hanged above the market’s entrance.

“Brother Fen, it seems that Su Clan did pretty well it those past ten years!” Qing Yun exclaimed as he glanced a the signboard with the character Su carved on it.
Su Fen smiled, “Hehe, since father took over the clan head position, our clan grew stronger by the day. Five years ago we moved in Tianlong City and even established the Su Clan’s market!” There was a deep reverence in Su Fen’s eyes when he mentioned his father.
Ten years ago, although the Su Clan was one of the hegemons it Grencloud Region they didn’t had the qualifications to move their clan and do business in the Tianlong City. The Tianlong City had it’s own powerful clans, if a new one decided to move in they’ll have to be strong enough if not they will end up destroyed or swallowed up by other clans.
To be able to rise Su Clan’s power at this level in just a few years, Su Xiang’s accomplishments were by no means small. One could see where Se Fen’s admiration for his father came from.
“Uncle Xiang is indeed impressive. With it’s current power, the Su Clan should be at the top of this Tianlong City.” Qing Yun said as he looked around the market.
“How can this be,” Su Fen said helplessly, “Although we have several Xiantian later stage warriors, our clan still lacks a Spirit Profound Realm practitioner. Without one, there are still several forces in Tianlong City that we can’t contend against. Jia Auction House and Hundred Flower Pavilion of course, but not even against the Xiao Clan and Qing Clan…” As he spoke till this point Su Fen suddenly stopped, his face became a little awkward, looking to the side even Qing Su seemed a little distressed.
Looking at their appearance, Qing Yun shook his head and smiled, “I already know that something big happened in the Greencloud Region, and it should have something to do with the Qing Clan, right?
At the sound of those words Qing Su and Su Fen felt helpless, “Big Brother Yun, actually…”

Before she could finish her words, Qing Yun waved his hand and smiled, “Now it’s not the time, we’ll talk about this later, let’s go and look around the market.”
Su Fen and Qing Su looked at each other and shook their heads before following behind Qing Yun.
Following Qing Yun while he examines the stalls by the side, they slowly move into the more populated and expensive inner parts of the market. The people that come here to buy and sell usually have decent money or physical power.
While Qing Yun and Su Fen were engrossed in the items being sold, Qing Su was following behind them as her beautiful eyes were glancing at the back of the young man that seemed to enjoy himself. After pausing for a while, a smile began to creep onto her delicate face.
Time flowed slowly as they made their way through the market. As Qing Yun didn’t plan on buying anything he glance around the stalls just out of curiosity, but he noticed that there was a pattern in the items checked by Su Fen. Cultivation resources, he seemed to search for magical beasts cores and pellets that could raise his cultivation.
As he thought about Su Fen’s talent that seemed to be just mediocre, Qing Yun let out a helpless sigh.
“Brother Fen, although talent it’s an important part of one’s cultivation it’s not absolute. The talent it’s something that gives someone a head start and nothing more, even the so called geniuses would have to put in some effort if they want to achieve something.”
“Although it’s hard for an ordinary person to catch up to a genius, it’s not impossible, they’ll just have to put in more effort. You still have a long time ahead of you, why are you so impatient?” Qing Yun helplessly said. He knew that Su Fen was already aware of this but for some reason he seemed impatient.
There are plentiful of pellets that could rise one’s cultivation, however it’s not indicated to be too dependent on those, even more so in the early realms when one needs to train their body without external help. This way they will have a solid foundation and will be very beneficial for their future.
As for magical beasts cores, although these are good cultivation resources it’s still not indicated for those in the Qi Refining Realm and Houtian Realm.
Hearing Qing Yun words, Su Fen gave him an astonished look before he became slightly embarrassed.
“Hehe, Big Brother Yun it’s not that,” Before Su Fen could say anything, Qing Su opened her rosy lips, “Actually, Elder Brother Fen is doing this for sister Xu Ya!” Qing Su’s voice contained a mischievous tone.
“Oh?!” Qing Yun was hit by a revelation and smiled mischievously, “So that’s how it is, this sister Xu Ya should be a great beauty, I can understand why Brother Fen desires strength so much, you wouldn’t want your sweetheart to be snatched away by someone!”
Su Fen face grew even redder at those words. Seeing this boulder like figure acting bashful was a peculiar sight indeed.
Su Fen opened his mouth to say something but he was interrupted by a clear laughter.
“Huh, isn’t this the young master of Su Clan and Ms. Qing Su! Keke, I never thought I’ll meet you here, it must be fate!”
Qing Su had a displeased expression at the sound of this voice, the three of them tried to find the source of the voice but only saw a group of people. The group was following behind a luxuriously dressed young man.
The young man seemed to be only twenty years old and was quite handsome, his face was slightly pale. Although he addressed Su Fen too, his eyes were filled with heat and were staring at the young girl standing in front of him. Within his gaze was also an unrestrained hint of lust.

The Shattered Circle
Aleyr Frostborn has survived a hundred prophecies of her defeat, breaking each one by slaying the champions of light sent to kill her. Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
