《Realm of Learning: Adventures of Eternium》9- A Chance Encounter

*Yawn*
The sun was at its highest point of the day and under its gentle warmth I took a nice big stretch.
Quest: Goblin Killing
456/1000 Goblins Slain
I had been hunting for hours now, past that initial encounter it began to become easier as my skills got better, the battles onwards would follow that same pattern, I would wear shadow cloak then scout the area ahead and while being alert to the movement of goblins, I would approach one who was alone and attack him from behind, it seems that every hit from behind with full strength would be a crit and it would stun the goblin, this likely had something to do with their low health and lack of armour, then when it began to awaken I would throw a Shadowbolt into their eye in the hopes of blinding them, if it didn’t blind them it wasn’t a big deal, eventually I discovered that for around every 10 goblins there was a hunter, but I could predict the area where a hunter was as if there should be a goblin patrol but I couldn’t see it, but I could see its tracks, a hunter would be there in stealth, the goblins themselves were anywhere from level 17-22, so I myself was at level 15.
From this style while leveling my skills by the 100th I had also received 3 new ones.
Tracking: Can track enemies through the tracks they leave, enables you to detect stealthed units if you follow their trail.
+10% chance to detect a stealthed character when following their trail.
Stealth: When unseen by enemies can activate this skill to reduce detectability.
Can’t be activated while seen or while in combat.
Gives 10% camouflage when activated
When an enemy detects you or you take damage this skill is released
Backstab: Attacking a unit from behind while undetected will increase damage.
200% damage when attacking from behind
Only applies when attacking from stealth
With these three skills my efficiency skyrocketed especially with my skills gaining levels and becoming more useful it closed the gap between me and the goblins, soon I was killed these goblins left right and center, what I had learned is that while these things were fast and good shots with a bow, they were stupid, had no idea how to fight and had no armour, thus they had no chance against me.

As it stands my skills were the following.

Cooking: Beginner level 5
Allows the user to cook food.
Allows user to skin corpses, chance of pelt drops from dungeon monsters.
Allows the user to butcher corpses for meat, chance of chance of meat drops from dungeon monsters.
Allows the user to gather herbs.
So I’m sure you’re wondering how I’ve been leveling up my cooking skill, surely 10 pieces of rabbit meat wasn’t enough to keep leveling to beginner level 5, well here’s your answer
Goblin Meat:
Rank 2 material
Sure even I was a bit put off by it at the start, but it tasted exactly like pork, juicy and sumptuous, when I had cooked it it gave 3 dex and 300 hp, including well-cooked bonus it was much better than rabbit meat and it was a very common drop from goblins, I had a few daggers and bows, but lots and lots of tasty meat.

Either way I was grinding these goblins mindlessly, I was already past the level were they could deal with me, thanks to the 60% blind chance from Shadowbolt hardly any of them got the hit to take off my shadow cloak, goblins would usually just panic when they lost their sights, the hunters would have a good idea where I am if I blinded them, but once I
took their bow arm they were no good.
Eventually something disturbed my happy shopping trip.
“HIIEEEEEEEE!”
I hear a shout coming from an area I had cleared, the mobs wouldn’t spawn for a while so I went to go check what that was.
Eventually I turned a tree and in the distance I saw a wolf chasing a man with a backpack larger than himself.
No wait, they were right in front of me, it was a halfing and some kind of small wolf, now this sure was a change of pace.
Race: Wolf pup level: 26
Health: 1508 Mana: 1428
Skills: [Takedown]
Interesting I hadn’t seen anything but goblins in this forest so far, still wolf meat might be nice, the level 26 is a bit worrying, but it should be fine, still in stealth I snuck behind the wolf before it could kill the halfing and readied my strike.
*Backstab* 304 damage
Mmm no crit, so far every backstab had been a crit, it might have something to do with goblins wearing no armour, I
guess the fur was a natural type of armour or it could have been where I hit.
The wolf was surprised by the hit and gained some distance between me and the halfing, I then stood between the two to make sure the halfling was safe, the wolf judging it was time to strike ran at a good speed and then jumped to bite me, I had finished channeling my Shadowbolt and aimed straight for the eyes, while attempting to dodge it’s bite.
-78 hp
Wolf pup blinded for 5 seconds
Great, the wolf was at first startled but then began sniffing to find me, regardless it wouldn’t get away that easily, rushing it with as many strikes as I could.
-152 HP
*miss*
-152 HP
*miss*
-152 HP
The wolf managed to dodged 2 strikes while blind, he was better than a goblin, I’ll give him that, once again he gained his distance and went straight in for the charge while I raised my left hand.
The wolf closed it eyes but it had been a feint, I grabbed my sword and went for a horizontal slash aimed straight at its eyes, wondering why it hadn’t felt damage it opened them to see what was happening but that was its mistake.
*Critical Hit* -304 HP
Wolf pup has been blinded
The wolf pup was knocked to the ground and when it got up it howled in pain, but I was already there and shoved my sword right down its throat.
*Critical Hit* -304 HP
Wolf pup has silenced
At this blood was streaming out its mouth a bit, it was faced in my direction and baring its fangs, I think it might have been trying to growl, if I hadn’t known that I’d done it the wolf pup might look really ferocious.
*Critical Hit* -549HP -282 MP
Shadowcloak has been dispelled.
F*CK A familiar pain hit my left shoulder, ignoring the wolf pup for the minute I turned to get sight of the hunter, I had to close the distance before I could finish the wolf pup.
Race: Goblin Beast tamer (Rare Elite) Level: 26
Skills: [Taming], [Powershot]
Familiar pain but an unfamiliar face, it was wearing a fur cloak on its shoulder that looked eerily similar to the wolf pup, I guess that’s why the wolf pup was in this goblin forest, I also saw the reason for that ridiculous damage, it was probably the best weapon I had seen in the game so far, it was a light wooden longbow and it seemed to have wings carved into its limbs, it was f*cking shining for god’s sake, how did this goblin get a bow this good.

The End (LitRPG)
James Yancy was one of the only children born without a superpower. Because of this, he doesn't think he will survive very long when the apocalypse comes. He was right. He dies almost instantly. Or does he? Authors Note: Not my picture, I shamelessly stole it from google, if anyone is an artist and wants to make one for me, that'd be great :)

A Savage's Journey
Jason Walker, a psych major, has been transported to another world. Quite frankly he isn't prepared. No experience in fighting, no idea how to control mana, and no proper clothes. Only his wits, which are in short supply, and his luck may see him through the day. This is my first novel ever. First ever time writing so I'll definitely be listening to any constructive criticism you guys have to offer. I'll even pay attention to straight up criticism if I can see some merit in it. I hope you all enjoy.

The Blackgloom Bounty
In the dark days before the end of the first millennium, Scotland (or Scotia as some called it) was a leaderless hodgepodge of tribes, clans and warring factions all bent on the same thing--domination of the land. Wizards, sorcerers and magicians still plied their trade, though much of their power had given way to the machinations of men and their war machines. To the south of Scotia lay the realm of the Saxons ruled by Ethelred the Unready and his ruthless minions. To the west, Ireland had just come of age. Everywhere else the constant threat of a lightning swift Viking incursion loomed over the land.Growing up in this lawless world is a displaced Daynin McKinnon, heir to an ancient familial keep on the island of Rhum. He and his grandfather Ean scratch out a living amongst the Saxons, careful never to divulge their clan heritage. That all changes when Kruzurk Makshare chooses Daynin as the ideal prospect to help him bring down a vile sorcerer named The Seed of Cerberus, ferreted away in his impregnable fortress at Blackgloom. Little does Kruzurk know that in so doing, he will launch young Daynin, himself and others on a vast, dangerous quest that no one could have foreseen. *****One Hollywood producer has dubbed this three book fantasy epic from Jon Baxley as, "BRAVEHEART meets THE LORD OF THE RINGS." Real places, people and events flesh out this fast moving, multi-faceted semi-historical series but fear not fantasy readers. There's more than enough of the magical, mystical mayhem you have come to expect from great fantasy. Romance readers, too, will enjoy the 'spice' in these characters--and there are a lot of them--both human and otherwise. And if you're into Viking lore, this series certainly is for you. When someone asks the author about his series, he answers with, “There were far more surprises in this tale than I ever expected and it's not over yet! This volume and the next two contain hundreds of pages filled with rollicking good times, fast moving action and a page turning adventure you will not soon forget."Books In The Scythian Stone Saga:THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY Episode 1 - 500 pagesTHE REGENTS OF RHUM Episode 2 - 800 pagesTHE SCIONS OF SCOTIA Episode 3 - 800 pages
