“Who goes there!?” the large guard yelled, pointing his assault rifle at me.

Raising my arms above my head, I slowly approach the gate.

“Just someone who needs a place to stay tonight. I'll be gone in the morning.” Ben tried saying as calmly as possible.

Ben looked over both guards, they were both hispanic. The one pointing the gun at him had a larger build and wore a cowboy hat. The other one was slightly smaller and had a scruffy facial hair. Both looked at him like he had shot their dog.

“No room, leave now.” the scruffy one said, not taking his eyes off him.

Seeing that there was no room for negotiation, Ben shook his head and turned around, heading back into the darkness.

Seeing the Ben leave, the scruffy man turned towards the other guard, “Go get the boss, my scan only got his level, 19.”

The cowboy gave scoff, “The boss is already 20 and had unlocked his element. He’s no threat to us.”

The scruffy guy was still staring at where Ben walked into the night, “You don't understand. With my Scan skill, I can see the boss’ level and class. I was only able to see his level even though he is lower level. He is dangerous.”

The cowboy looked into the darkness before turning around and walked into the city.

Ben’s Katana slashed through a large lizard.

3 Horned Lizard Lvl 22

Two more replaced the one that he killed.

Ben had found a cave to stay the night and when he went to inspect it these damned lizards started pouring out.

Ben had been fighting for the last 10 minutes, killing tens of these things but there seemed no end to them.

*Ding*

Hearing a soft ding, Ben realized he finally hit level 20.

[Awakening elemental core… ]

Ben felt a burning feeling from his gut, painful waves radiated out it and ran throughout his body

Clenching his jaw, Ben stabbed a lizard with his Ninjato and turned to run away. His way was blocked a huge lizard that almost doubled the size of all the others.

King 3 Horned Lizard Lvl 29

‘So he’s the king of these lizards, kill him and the others should scatter.’

The pain was getting worse by the second, soon he might not be able to move. Ben knew he had to kill this bastard and get somewhere safe as soon as possible.

Ben gave a hard step, turning into a blur as he shot towards the king. Seeing Ben coming, the king felt the threat coming and the his body seemed to puff out before the spikes shot at Ben lightning fast.

Shocked, Ben used his swords to deflect the incoming spikes. They were to fast and Ben was hit in his left shoulder and leg. They didn't penetrate too deep thanks to his high VIT but gave a throbbing pain that hindered his movements.

Ben grabbed the spike in his shoulder and pulled it out. Clenching his teeth Ben tried to absorb natural energy to heal himself.

“AHHHHHH!!!” Ben let out a loud scream.

When he tried to absorb the natural energy the pain from his gut felt like he was being burned alive. He stopped immediately but the pain continued to rack through his body.

Sheathing his swords Ben ran as fast as he could away from the king lizard. He felt like he was being burned alive but continued to run. He needed to find a safe place to ride out whatever was happening to his body.

The lizard chased after Bennett for a while before realizing he wasn't his match in speed and returning to his cave with the remaining lizards.

Ben continued to run, looking for somewhere to hide. The land was flat with few trees and nowhere to hide. Ben saw a hill in the distance and decided this was his only hope, the pain was getting too much and his body was covered in sweat.

Approaching this hill, Ben saw a small cave and dove in it without any hesitation. Sitting down and crossing his legs, Ben finally tried to figure out what was going on in his body.

Closing his eyes, Ben looked deep inside his body. What he say was a bright blue energy coursing through out his, this energy came from his his gut. This energy shot out through his body causing his muscles to convulse.

The energy was getting stronger and stronger causing Ben to let out a low grown.

Just when the pain was becoming unbearable, Ben’s eyes shot open and a blinding light filled the cave. His left eye emitted a bright blue colour while black mist came out from his right. The two energies seemed to want to devour each other until a stalemate was met.

They retreated back into Bennett’s eye, in the left eye a blue ring circled his pupil. The same could be seen in his right eye, except the colour was black.

Ben’s hair was standing straight up with blue lightning crackling in it while black mist was rolling off his shoulders.

Ben closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his body was sore and ache all over.

Ben stretched his body, trying to work out the soreness out of muscles.

Ben was curious to see what had happened to him and opened up his stats panel.

Ben clicked the Element tab.

Ben shook with excitement! Controlling an element! Which kid didn't wish for that power!

Marvel, DC and Avatar! They all had characters controlling different elements!

And lightning! Arguably the best element! Lightning was fast and powerful. It's fire power was unmatched!

Ben didn't have a clue about his second element, Darkness. This was usually used with shadows and for assassins.

Ben could feel that his two elements came from different eyes. Rubbing his eyes Ben felt that there was still a lot still unknown about his eyes.

“Well looks like old Tuk fulfilled his promise. Come here youngster and let me have looks at you.” a voice seemed to appear out of thin air.

Ben panicked and took out his Katana. Ben couldn't find where the voice came from.

The air shimmered in front of Ben, a person appeared in front of Ben smiling at him.
