《Path of Damnation》Chapter 1: What is going on?

I somehow appear to be alive. But it appears my body took far too much damage, as my entire body felt ridiculously uncomfortable and I couldn’t open my eyes. Dear lord the strain of trying to open my eyes. But I did manage to open my eyes, and dear god did I regret it.
I was in a small brightly lit chamber which burned my precious eyes for a few seconds before I regained my vision and saw that I was surrounded by these tiny babies. When I say tiny babies, I mean tiny. Even smaller than a human baby. Maybe ¼ of the size and the shocking thing was that I was surrounded by tens of dozens of these guys. But why did they appear to be growing so fast.
I attempted to focus my eyes, thinking maybe I was hallucinating, and not only was I not hallucinating, on top of these tiny babies was a name. For all of them. Surrounding me where dozens of Hobbitling. [Hobbitling: Mia], [Hobbitling: Lia], [Hobbitling: Hazra], [Hobbitling: Farza], [Hobbitling: Malza], and so on.
As I was trying to figure out what was going on, why could I see the name of these so called Hobbitlings, where the hell I was and many of the other questions storming my mind I was picked up by a very tall Man. Well at least to my size he was huge. Maybe he was around 3 or 4 feet, meaning I had shrunk? What the hell was going on?
As I began contemplating this man, I looked up and saw he had a name as well [Hobbit: Jiatya]. He looked at me and his face was full of the most open look of Disgust I had seen in my entire life. Why was he so displeased with me?
He then gave me to the man next to him. No this man was not a hobbit, he was something called a Lower Dwarf, and his name was Hargran. He was between 4 and 5 foot but I couldn’t tell. But when I say gave, it wasn’t actually gentle considering the fact that Jiatya threw me and Hargran missed catching me letting me hit the wall. That hurt quite a bit.
Hargran than clumsily picked me and looked me over giving me a look of pity and kindness. As I was wondering why on earth Jiatya hated me and Hargran pitied me, Jiatya spoke perfect English, well at least I thought so until I got a message saying;
[Ability Unlocked] > [Language: Hobbit 100%]
Jiatya: Take this abomination to the creature’s lake and get rid of him
Hargran: Wha if te’ cretur eatz ma?
(TL: What if the creature eats me?)
Jiatya: I hope he does, getting rid of you would be a bonus, now GO! You blithering idiot!
And with that Hargran literally bolted out of the chamber of sorts into a large opening of a cave, where several other Hobbits looked at me with Disgust. Hargran appeared to be the victim of some of the gazes as well.

Hargran bolted out of the cave opening into some sort of forest, and ran as fast as his chubby legs could carry him and me, which wasn't very fast. As he ran I thought about the message that appeared and how I could understand them, but before I could finish my thought process, Hargran after close to fifteen minutes of running reached some sort of lake and then toppled onto the ground and began huffing and wheezing.
I had of course been ungraciously thrown across the ground as Hargran collapsed. I collected myself quite fast and I appeared to have somehow gotten used to this body. I wonder why. I began to move around and once I was sure I had the hang of my new body began to move near the lake so I could see what I looked like. As I walked to the lake, I came to the conclusion I had died and been reincarnated, but as what was the question. But before I could confirm what I was, Hargran came and grabbed me and then began talking.
Hargran: Sorre Lil’ Fella, but me got to throw ye into te’ big lake. I can’t lie ta te’ Boss, he has Magics and be very very scary. I hoap ye survive fella, aga’n I be sorre.
(TL: Sorry Little guy, but I have got to throw you into the big lake. I can’t lie to the Boss(Jiatya), since he has magic and can be quite terrifying. I hope you survive kid and once again I am sorry)
Before I could even do anything, the moment his speech finished Hargran threw me towards the lake. What happened next is something I wish I could forget.
As I landed into the water, I saw Hargran leave, probably so if I did survive, he wouldn’t know so he could only tell Jiatya that he had thrown me. What a nice guy. Still, I landed into the water with a loud splash.
Water went everywhere, and I went under the water. I began to frantically swim (attempt to swim, for image of this scene, imagine a retarded Baby swimming) and I only accomplished swallowing several handfuls of water. I had to pinpoint where land was, but how was I supposed to do that.
Well I had this weird inkling that land was in a particular direction so I swam like a retard towards my destination. When I say swim, I was only half swimming, the other half being me drowning. But nonetheless I reached land.
I slowly climbed up onto land, and never have I felt so relieved at being on land. I cuddled with it and began coughing up water for the next 10 minutes. Once I was sure I had finished removing the excess water in my system I simply closed my eyes and rested facing upwards towards the sky. I stayed like that for less than a minute before I got several pop ups;

[Passive Ability Gained] >
[Undrownable – 1%]
[Living Compass – Godly (MAX)]
[Swimming – Basic (Lvl1)]
[Breathing Technique – 5%]
I stood there shocked. I mean what the hell, after going through such horrible events, I had gained something unique out of it. I understood the reason I had gained all of these abilities except one. I had no idea how I gained the ability [Living Compass]. I gained [Undrownable] by almost drowning, and this was one skill I would not test out in the future. [Swimming] I gained by well, swimming and [Breathing Technique] I probably gained when I tried to breathe in the lake and after I exited the lake. The last two I would attempt to test out and see if it can improve. I hope it can, I am a horrible swimmer.
I was quite happy that I simply gained abilities through actions so easily. I would have to test how abilities are exactly earned and then maybe I can create some powerful ones. But for now, it’s time to see what exactly I look like. I mean I can’t look that bad.
And I couldn't have been more wrong. Exactly the hell was I? I was shocked beyond all words and my only reaction was to shed a single tear as I looked at myself.
I looked like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Even I would have thrown myself away if I was in Jiatya’s position. When I thought this another tear rolled down my beady eyes and I realised that I had hit the bottom end of the Reincarnation circle.
God how cruel can you be, first I die from a Christian extremist for no reason whatsoever, and now I am a.... a Gollum? As I thought about this, I came to an understanding that I was stuck like this and no amount of complaining would change that, so the best thing to do was to survive.
And as if on cue with that thought my stomach began to growl signifying my need to eat to survive. I looked around and realized I only had two options for scavenging for food, the forest Hargran brought me through, or the lake.
I opted for the lake since it seemed to be teeming with fish. So with that decision I took my Gollum self and stood within the shallow area of the lake and allowed for the fish to surround me. I then shot my hand threw the water and attempted to catch a fish.
I failed miserably and all the fish fled. So I ended up spending the next hour attempting to catch fish, with my less then cave man fishing abilities and as if to mock me, I was granted said ability.
[Ability Gained] > [Less than Cave-man Fishing].
I looked up into the sky and glanced at the sun. This was the closest figure to god for me at the moment.
Me: Seriously God, Seriously?
I shook my head left and right with passive anger before realizing I had caught not only one fish, but two. I danced with happiness before sprinting to land only to come up to my next problem.
I had no fire to cook my fish. I slapped my hand against my head with frustration forgetting I had a fish in my hand, resulting in me slapping my forehead with a fish. It felt surprisingly uncomfortable since the fish felt smooth in my hand.
I shrugged and threw the fish down onto a rock and moved to gather sticks near the forest entrance. I carried a bunch and brought them back and began using them to attempt to make a fire. I rubbed two sticks against one another and realized that the guys who created fires like this in my old world were a bunch of skilled bastards.
I spent close to two and half hours and my stomach began to hurt from hunger before I finally managed to create a tiny spark which resulted in the two sticks catching fire. So I did what any sane person would do next and I fed the fire with more sticks than I should have causing the fire to burn out, leaving me with no fire.
I stared at the remains of my pitiful fire and then silently watched it for a few minutes before once again picking up sticks and attempting to create a fire.
Almost an hour has passed this time and I managed to create a fire. This time I carefully managed the fire creating a nice warm fire pit in which I cooked my fish. This was either the tastiest fish I had ever eaten or I was so hungry I thought it was the best fish I had ever eaten. I really didn't care which was true.
I who was now full and content noticed that it was becoming night, so I lay down on the dirt next to the fire realizing that the dirt was uncomfortable. Incredibly so. I simply shrugged and got on with it. I didn't have the luxury of being picky in my situation considering I was lucky to be alive. I covered myself in dirt in hopes of keeping warm in the night once the fire died out after I fell asleep and closed my eyes.
As I drifted off into my sleep I realized the ground was becoming more and more comfortable and it allowed me to nod off much more quickly than It should have been possible but I was happy and simply let myself embrace sleep.
Just as I fell asleep I saw or at least I think I did since I was falling asleep, a message pop up;
[Ability Gained] > [Earth – Basic]
And with that I was gone into the sweet ethereal realm of dreams.
