《Path of Damnation》Day 22: Soon we begin
Advertisement
The wind gently embraced me as I stood far above the ground.
My eyes gazed at all dwelled below me, my feet glued to the stone surface I stood on.
I stood there marveling at how much now belonged to us.
What now belonged to the orcs.
What now belonged to me.
What now belonged to Damnation.
Thousands upon thousands of beings traversed the landscape below me, stretching far and wide.
Dozens of smalls clusters dotted the landscape, some larger, some smaller.
Some huge clusters were spread out across our territory.
Thousands upon thousands of houses and tents scattered across our lands.
I smiled as my eyes landed upon the flags and statues.
All of which were surrounded at almost all hours of the day.
The large black flags with the symbol of a skull being crushed by a hand dotting there centre.
The flag I designed with my subordinate, the first High Priest of Damnation, Ghum’bil.
Looking at flags being surrounded with dozens upon dozens of followers brought a smile to my lips, causing happiness coursing through me.
I then glanced at the statues which dotted the landscape.
The large stone statues which were crafted by our greatest stone smiths.
These statues depicted a small being whose head and body was cloaked by that of a dead wolf.
His hand held the skull of an orc and the other the skull of a human.
This statue was again, designed by me and my subordinate, Ghum’bil.
These statues were considerably bigger than the flags and had hundreds of worshipers praying to it, praying to our god.
The master piece of all of the religious objects was the giant statue, which easily stood at over a hundred feet and stood at the centre of our lands.
The giant statue of our god holding a pleading Az’gari, the winged creations of light in his left hand and a hateful Dae’mora, the winged creations of darkness in his right hand.
The statue of our god itself was a huge humanoid whose bodily features were covered with a stone robe.
All in all, it looked magnificent, even more so, with thousands of worshipers praying at its base.
I smiled with immense pride at the knowledge that I am our god’s chosen.
I am his brother, his family, his friend.
I am Kaiser, named by the god of Damnation.
I am his champion.
All of these worshipers came to him within days of entry to this world.
Within a few days he did what no other good ever could.
Not the god of power Lum’buk, now the chief deity of the ogres, nor the god of the forest Jihan, now the chief deity of the beastmen, nor the goddess of light Amiya, now the chief deity of humanity, nor the god of stone Mortanas, now the chief deity of Dwarves and not Elshira, now the chief deity of the Elves.
None of these gods could unite the orcs.
None of these gods could gain orcish followers.
None of these gods could contain the wrath of the orcs.
But mine did.
My great god, Damnation himself has begun to bring the orcs together.
I sighed to myself as I thought about all of this.
At his beck and call we have done so much.
But I wish I could be doing more.
I have been by his side since his entry to his world.
I assume so at least, seeing as how he has gotten stronger with each passing day.
When we first met, he was, hmmm how should I put this, weak would be good I guess.
He was weak when we first met.
But now he is far stronger.
Which would means that with each passing day he regains more and more of his power.
I on the other hand, have become powerful. Very powerful, all thanks to my god.
I have evolved and become stronger at a pace faster than any orc, including that bastard Garghaz.
I stared at my own hand and smiled.
Thinking about it, I am the first thing my god put power into in this world.
That brought a grin to my face.
I was interrupted as a rather large gray orc opened the door to the place I was at.
I looked as this orc, who was dressed in a lavish purple robe with a long exquisite staff in his hand, pant with a look of irritation on his face as he glared at me.
???: “Champion, why do you venture to the tallest tower of these damned fortress” he spat the words out as he neared me. His tone still possessed respect but you could feel the irritation in his voice.
Turning back and facing the beings that dotted the horizon I simply chuckled.
Kaiser: “I like to glance at our growing power is all Ghum’bil” I said with a smile on my face.
This caused him to sigh before slowly coming towards me, his sandals clacking against the stone surface of the tower.
As he neared me I remembered that I told him to find me first thing today after I made it to this fortress yesterday.
I had postponed talking to Ghum’bil for no apparent reason.
That aside, it had only been a dozen or so hours since I reached the fortress.
Ghum’bil: “Champion, why don’t we head down to the main hall and have our discussion in warmth and comfort?” he asked me with a look close to pleading on his face.
I simply shook my head after.
Kaiser: “No, I like the feeling of the wind against my bare body” I told him as the wind gently embraced me.
He shivered in the cold while glaring at me with bitterness in his eyes.
Ghum’bil: “Fine, let us discuss in the forsaken cold champion” he said as he glanced at the possessions of damnation with a smile on his face “Fabulous, no?” to which I simply nodded.
Kaiser: “Ghum’bil” I said my tone now serious which caused him to also become serious “We shall be going to war soon. With the religion of Amiya” Ghum’bil simply nodded.
Ghum’bil: “When shall we need to set off by?” he asked me curiously. I pondered on that and asked him a question back ‘why?’ to which he replied with a smile “Because I was about to begin the conquest of the Elves to our south” a sinister grin plastered on his face.
Looking at him I wondered what could possess him to launch an attack on the Elves.
Kaiser: “And why would you fight the elves?”.
Ghum’bil: “Beforehand I was simply going to force them into subjugation because they were a threat that was close by, but now I have a legitimate reason. They are close to the humans and if we leave our backs undefended we may be attacked from behind” his answer logical but I couldn’t help but feel that he had a more underhanded reason for wishing to subjugate the elves.
Kaiser: “That aside begin rallying the army and then let us discuss where to strike first so that we can end this as fast as possible” I said this expecting Ghum’bil to be forced to walk back down the tower and to his subordinates and then being forced to walk back up again but instead of this Ghum’bil simply created a black orb in his hand and launched it out of his hand.

The black orb travelled for quite a bit before disappearing from my view.
Looking at him curiously he smiled at me.
Ghum’bil: “It’s a skilled called Chaos Message. I imbibe the mass with a message which then gets implanted into whoever the orb enters, which would be my subordinates” a grin dotting his face.
I smiled at him as this was quite the useful skill.
Ghum’bil: “There are several towns and cities to the north which we will be able to take quite easily. You leave planning the route of conquering we take to me and let us discuss the enemy in a broader sense” as he said this I nodded and gestured for him to continue “We have the Humans to the North but they are not as united as we thought” he said with smirking “There are three kingdoms, the largest and strongest Kalmira, the second strongest and closely allied with Kalmira, Lithium and thirdly the kingdom that is discriminated against by the other two, Yulia” I smirked as I understood what he was saying. “Kalmira and Lithium deal in slave trade, mainly beast man, orc or Yulian citizens” he said so his smirk now a broad grin.
Kaiser: “What about Amiya, I am sure the goddesses’ religion is dominant in the humans?” I asked curiously. I am sure Kalmira and Lithium were very Amiyan in terms of religion but maybe Yulia was only Amiyan in name.
Ghum’bil: “Like I am sure you have guessed Champion, Kalmira and Lithium are very religious and pray to Amiya daily but Yulia is only a state of Amiya in name and hold little love for the goddess. In fact that human territory you conquered was governed by a Lithium Noble but was a Yulian province. Do you understand what I am implying champion?” he said so with a shady grin on his face.
It now made sense as to why they would join us so fast, not only was the noble a trashy being but he was also from a different country.
Kaiser: “Send a ambassador to the Yulians and offer them solace in joining us” I said nodding to Ghum’bil who quickly created another ball of darkness and launched it off.
Before long I saw an orc ride off towards the north, most likely taking Ghum’bils message.
Kaiser: “Who else poses a threat to us?” I asked him wanting to memorize all of our enemies so that I could prepare accordingly.
Ghum’bil: “To the north west, in the Kingdom of Kalmira, resides the High Temple of Amiya, it is the place which we must sack to prove our gods dominance over theirs” I nodded at this knowledge. I would have to crush Kalmira and if negotiations went well I would have Yulia keep Lithium busy long enough for us to then crush Lithium as well.
Gesturing for him to continue he smiled and did so.
Ghum’bil: “To the far west we have our most likely final enemy is this land called Thecillia, the Dwarves and their mountain cities. It shall be a pain to force them to submit to Damnation” he said with irritation in his voice.
I wonder exactly how much knowledge was stored up in this fortress for Ghum’bil to know so much. I would delve into it later but for now I sighed and told him to continue.
Ghum’bil: “The Dwarves are close friends with the Humans but cannot help the humans in their war because one of the large clans who would camp on the door step of the dwarves found a hidden pathway into their cities” he was chuckling as he said this “The dwarves fortresses may be invincible but once penetrated I wonder how long they can last, well as I was saying, the dwarves are busy attempting to survive against the onslaught of one of the large clans”.
This caused me to chuckle; seeing as how an invincible fortress falling was something that was laugh worthy.
As I nodded to Ghum’bil to continue causing him to clear his throat, I saw that the beings far down below us were stirring, large groups of them coming together.
Most likely this was our army coming getting ready to begin our conquest.
Ghum’bil: “We have the few dozen or so beast men clans but they should pose no problem to us, but if they unite, they may become tricky. I would rather not fight them as an enemy gets stronger the closer it becomes to death” I nodded at his wise words. “But seeing as how the beast men became godless with the death of their god at the hands of Amiya, they may just join us and bolster our forces once they learn about our war against her” he said in a calculative manner.
Looking at Ghum’bil I sighed at his greedy nature, he wanted more and more and more.
I only hoped we would be able to properly control all we conquered.
Ghum’bil: “Another important enemy we have are the orc clans. Although many orcs flock to join us daily, these are from the smaller clans. The larger clans have dominance over their orcs causing them to not come to our cause. We’ll have to kill their chieftains to take their orcs” he said so with spite and greed mixed in his words.
I sighed as I thought about how much orcs hated each other.
Kaiser: “We have many enemies Ghum’bil, it would be wise if ‘we’” I said emphasising the ‘we’ “Do not try and fight them all at once” my voice cold and hard.
Ghum’bil nodded timidly and wryly smiled.
Ghum’bil: “Of course Champion, I was just stating the enemies that we may ‘eventually’ face” he said so emphasising the ‘Eventually’.
I sighed and gestured for him to continue which he did eagerly.
Ghum’bil: “The most important aside from the humans and their so called Amiya at the moment would be the Elves” he said so with something akin to lust on his face. I could imagine what he wanted from the elves but I doubt our god would give permission for it. “But that aside, we have a chance of being attacked from behind should we ignore them” with a smile on his face “So I propose we split the army in two, one half begin the conquest north with a plan I create so there is no room for failure while me and you head towards the Elves and force them to submit as fast as possible?” his voice was like that of a orcling begging their parents to buy them some fresh meat or sweet flesh.
Sighing I looked him in the eyes which made him pale slightly.
Kaiser: “Fine, prepare our forces, we march soon” and with delight visible on his face he created another orb of darkness and sent it out.
I watched as it disappeared from my view slowly before watching our forces get prepared beneath us.
Slowly I watched two visible armies form beneath us.
Over the course of a few hours Ghum’bil and I just stood there in silence, on the tallest tower of the fortress of damnation as we watched the formation of two armies that would bring two different races to their knees.
Kaiser: “Prepare to conquer in the name of our god” I said so while smiling as I turned to Ghum’bil, my voice filled with pride.
Ghum’bil: “Gladly champion” he said greed and lust visible on his face as he rubbed his ashen hands together.

Runicka: Tournament of Monsters (A GameLit Card Game Fantasy)
The runes are changing, and with it, the game itself changes. Taygion Ardwella finds himself stranded, alone, and on the run from some very determined guards who claim Tay's stolen from them. They're right, but that shouldn't mean Tay has to give back what he took. He's only been in Stormwall for a week and already, he's earning the ire of the most powerful and notorious House that controls the city's underground. And when their scion challenges Tay to a duel of cards, Tay will find himself thrust into a game of sorcery and strategy as he attempts to both find a way out of this mess and find his own way in the world. To do both, he'll need to learn to accept guidance and coaching where it's sorely needed, craft a deck of unimaginable power, and not die whenever his opponents try and cheat him out of a hard-earn victory. But not all is as it seems in the shadows of Stormwall, and if Tay can figure out the importance of what it is he's stolen, he may just have a chance at saving the game of Runicka. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Runicka: Tournament of Monsters is a high fantasy, card game-based adventure novel with enough magic, worldbuilding, and characters to fill a Sanderson series. I would consider it a part of the GameLit subgenre. This series in particular is not an isekai, and will start and end in a high fantasy setting complete with its own lore and backstory. It is a progression fantasy, and I am writing it inspired by all the Yu-Gi-Oh mangas/animes, and all the hours I've invested/wasted (depending on who you ask) playing TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh and Magic: The Gathering. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a work in progress. In your journey through Stormwall alongside Tay, you'll probably find typos, grammatical errors, and maybe a confusing sentence every once in a while (although I hope to keep these to a minimum). That said, comments and suggestions on where I can improve are not only encouraged but greatly appreciated. And finally, expect new chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Currently on a small hiatus. I have a bit of a workplace crisis going on. I'm still writing, but I don't have time to polish and publish. Chapters will return on a regular basis soon though!!**

An Id of Primal Chaos
TAG DISCLAIMER: The tags 'Portal Fantasy / isekai', 'High Fantasy', and 'Non-Human Lead' do not take place until later on in the novel. Probably mid-way through the first volume. The 'villainous lead' tag is a very loose tag. Some of the things the mc does can be considered villainous to those with a staunch moral code, however, I have not made the mc out to be overtly villainous. True Title: Advent of the Silent Storm (I came up with the original title a while ago, before I had even written a single chapter. It still kind of fits but this new title fits a lot better. I would change it but I don't know if it would screw up the recommendation algorithm.) Excerpt: My mind wanders through the soup of unconsciousness, still startlingly awake despite my physical form’s stasis. Electricity completely paralyzes the air around me and lightning flashes in a constant strobe of blinding light. The ground, thousands of feet below my being has been wiped clean of all manmade artifice and natural beauty; leveled, through absolute power. My power. Synopsis: Tetal Faelen, a very successful businessman with lofty goals, is introduced to an omniscient being through less than pleasant means. This being has an irresistible offer for Tetal with next to no downside. Tetal can’t help but wonder, “What’s the catch?” Additional Notes: Second novel I have started within the Web of Interconnected Realities. My other novel is not posted on this site so don't bother looking for it. I might post it here in the future.
