《Path of Damnation》Day 26: Dark God and his Horde
Advertisement
Day 26:
Sitting on my uncomfortable throne I looked towards the group of people in front of me.
In front of me stood 7 orcs, 1 Ogre and 5 Beast men, all proud and puffed up.
They had their backs straight, they stood all formal and military and they all wore what I presume was their best clothes.
Their best clothing was quite different for all of them.
The orcs wore regal human armour on them; all silver and gold with colour such as red, black, blue, etc, making them look strong and proud.
The beast men wore very regal tribal clothing, robes and leather making them look agile and primal.
The ogre wore… Well it wore what may have once been a high class humans robe as his loincloth and as if that wasn’t bad enough, he had a large cape on his back.
Actually looking closer, that cape was a curtain.
Sighing I rubbed my forehead slightly before looking back at the group assembled in front of me.
This group was my so called commanders of my ever growing army.
The 6 Orc generals and 1 Orc Field Marshall.
In total there were 12 orc generals and 1 field Marshall, but Kaiser took 6 of the generals with him to subjugate the elves.
He didn’t need a field Marshall, seeing as he personally led the subjugation force or as he dubbed it in his letter, the ‘Horde’.
The ogre was one of the two Ogre Warlords who served as part of my army.
Kaiser took the other one and about half of the ogres with his ‘horde’.
The beast men were the heads of the largest clans apart of my army.
In total there were 7 of these clans.
3 Greater and 4 Lesser clans.
I learned about them recently and by recently I meant today.
The 3 greater clans in my army included the Bear men whose race was called Bearan, whom were lead by Umthra who herself stood before me.
Aside from Umthra and her bear men were the Snake men, who belonged to the race called the Silithians and the their clan was named after their race, the Silithian Clan.
And last but not least was the Bird men clan who belonged to the race called the Adveni and their clan, like that of the Silithians was named after their race.
As such, the 3 great clans of my army were the Bearan, the Silithian and the Adveni.
The lesser clans were the Turtle people, the Sheallin, the fox people, the Tailemi, the rabbit people, the fluffon and the Hyena people, the Laughen.

All in all, it was quite a weird combination of clans.
I did read about the Lionas people and it was a shame that they were sort of broken by Ghum’bil seeing as how he massacred them to nearly the last man.
But that aside, they’ll slowly regrow in population and maybe one day they’ll be able to help my army.
I made sure they had good living conditions and I treated them favourably in hopes that they would become loyal and dependant on me.
My motives and thoughts aside, out of the 7 clans, Kaiser had taken the Silithian and Laughon clans with him.
I am not sure whether that was his choice or Ghum’bils but I’ll find out later.
Looking towards the group in front of me, I sighed as I thought about how well they’d work together.
Seeing as how they’d have most likely been hunting and murdering each other for centuries at least.
They’d have to have some animosity but I could sense no hate in the room at all.
Aside from Ghum’bil who stood near the giant window and looked in the direction of Kaiser with hate in his eyes.
Ignoring him I got up and looked towards the commanders of my ever growing army.
MC: “Are you all ready for what we shall be doing” I asked my voice dark and serious.
All of them said yes in a different manner.
The beast men, kneeled and shouted ‘Yes, my God’.
The Orcs nodded and pounded their fists onto their chests and roared in affirmation.
The ogre attempted to copy both and kneeled and then slammed his fist into his chest while nodding, knocking the wind out of himself and collapsing.
I face palmed as I watched the ‘Warlord’ of the ogres attempt to collect himself while laughing ‘Aha aha, Sorru God’.
It took him a minute to get himself together and in that time, both the orcs and beast men looked down on the ogre.
They felt pity, hate, embarrassment and anger towards the ogre, while the ogre felt embarrassment and happiness.
I stood still as all of this happened, my confidence in my group of commanders falling.
But this was only the ogre, the others must be competent at least was the thought that comforted me.
MC: “This aside” I said pointing towards the Ogre “I am sure you all know that we will be marching through human territory” and this time instead of all of them doing their own thing in affirmation, they just nodded, looking towards the ogre.

The ogre also nodded so they sighed in relief.
MC: “All of your races can mate with humans and your men will try to but I will only give this warning once” my voice went from inspiring to cold and dark in a instant “If you or your men try to rape anyone I will kill you in a horrible manner” and with that my voice went back to normal “of course that applies if you see the act being committed but do nothing to stop it, so make sure to discipline your men properly” I smiled at them all once I gave them that simple warning.
All of them nodded frivolously while sweating slightly.
Happy with their response I smiled in relief.
I didn’t have many morals to stick by, but rape was one thing I wouldn’t allow.
It’s an act I despise for various reasons.
MC: “Well then go and prepare our army, as soon we will march through human territory towards Amiya” and with that I dismissed them by waving my hand and turning around and moving back to my uncomfortable throne to sit down.
All of them immediately turned around and left the throne room most likely heading towards their respective subordinates, aside from 1 orc general who accompanied the ogre warlord.
MC: “Ghum’bil come here” I said looking towards Ghum’bil who nodded meekly at my words and came towards me. “You are to head to the human Kingdom of Yulia and turn them to our side” as I said this Ghum’bil took on a glum expression, which I knew was from the fact that he desired to head back to the Elves “I know a messenger was already sent to them and the proposition would have made them think, now while they are processing this information go and convince them to side with us” I told Ghum’bil this with a smile and he nodded, his dissatisfaction hidden behind a smile.
Ghum’bil: “of course my god, I will complete this task or die trying” and he bowed before me with a fake smile on his face.
MC: “I know you desire the Elves Ghum’bil” as I said this he had a shocked expression and he immediately tried to make up excuses but I silenced him “And frankly, good for you” I told him which made him confused “If you complete this task and do it well, I will find you a willing elf, okay?” I told him to which he nodded profusely giving off a aura of happiness and excitement.
Ghum’bil: “I shall leave right away my god, the faster I can complete this task for you my god, the better” and with that he bowed and turned around, jogging excitedly.
I smiled as my stick and carrot method worked on him.
I watched him leave the throne room quickly with his huge aura of happiness.
Now in the throne room by himself I got up and walked towards the window Ghum’bil was just at and looked out.
I could see my great army preparing itself, non-stop movement happening all over the place.
I smiled in happiness but I was also feeling a little glum as I realized I had changed.
I had changed incredibly.
I had become the king and ruler of a large group of people.
I knew I had changed but I wondered how much of my humanity still remained.
At this point in time, after I had committed so many dark acts, how much of my humanity lingered in my mind was a question I asked myself.
I gave orders to prepare an army for a war.
Could I have done that if I was a human?
Could I have coldly calculated how to kill off a religion if I was still human?
Could I have had so much blood on my hands as a human and still be sane and guilt free?
Could I?
I sighed and rested my head on my hand as I glanced out towards the direction Kaiser was in.
I felt for him, to see what he was feeling but I could not sense so far away so I just glanced back towards my army.
Thinking about it, this was no army.
And I was no King.
No, this was a horde.
A horde of monsters that would be lead by me.
Lead by a Dark being.
I smiled bitterly as I realized that I had become the antagonist.
I had become the Dark god that Humanity and the races of light would unite to fight against.
