Chapter 5

The following morning...

After that night of passion, both Mike and ES once more confirmed their feeling for each other. While Mike felt happy (among other things...) for discovering another side to ES other than what he had already known, the person who changed the most in their relationship was ES.

ES: Good morning, hubby.

Mike: ...Morning ES.

Aftet confirmation from Mike that he had feelings for her, she now completely thought of herself as Mike’s wife. She immediately greeted him when he woke up and was already making breakfast. She actually made a non-lethal breakfast and Mike could say with 100% certainty that it was possibly the best meal he ever had. (It is debatable whether or not this is true considering that any edible food would have tasted like honey compared to what he ate yesterday...)

After reminiscing about the horrors he had faced yesterday, Mike decided to start practicing his ninjutsu and chakra control. Prior to today, he'd already found out that he was compatible with two elements, wind and lightning, when he used chakra paper to test himself. He could’ve sworn that after the chakra paper split and crumpled it felt a bit damp, but he waved it off as his imagination since it seemed unlikely. It wasn't like he had access to a jutsu that required the use of the other elements at the moment, so it didn't really matter.

Mike's training regimen over the next few days was quite simple. While he had 2 shadow clones practice ninjutsu and chakra control, Mike practiced with Ana in the inner world. She tried to help improve his sword fighting skills and he made a lot of improvement considering he only practiced for 8 days. It was mostly thanks to Ana who guided him along with his increased stats that helped increase his learning speed. He even managed to increase the amount of chakra he possessed by 5%, and the speed by which it increased seemed to increase with each day. His clones even managed to form a rasengan 1/5 of the time. While he still had quite a waus to go in terms of beimg a shinigami and a ninja, his progres was indeed praiseworthy for a person who had just been introduced to such foreign elements.

Now there was only a few seconds left before Mike would be reincarnated into a world similar to D.Grayman. He quickly gave his lover a passionate kiss as he embraced her, and his consciousness was soon gone after he separated from her, leaving only his body suspended in a beam of light.

ES still felt his connection to her, so she wasn't worried that much about him. All she could do was pray that her lover would come back to her safe and sound.

ES: ...Be safe.
