Chapter 21

After returning back to his child-like body, Vincent spent the rest of the night embracing Klaud while they slept. The next morning, Vincent woke up way later than he had in the past year, and was surprised that Klaud was still sleeping with him. Even if she was tired, she ususally always woke up on time.

Vincent: (Guess she’s really relaxed...Oh well, I’ll just keep hugging her for now.)

After about another hour of simply enjoying the comfortable feeling of hugging someone as well-endowed as Klaud, she started to stir.

Klaud: Mm? Oh, Vincent, you're awake. What time is it?

Vincent: I'd say it's about the usual time we'd usually start training… Hey Klaud, can we just stay in bed today? I don't really feel like training…

Klaud: I do too, but we should really start training so that we can better prepare you for the coming fights against the Noah.

Vincent: Please (Vincent used kawaii eyes. Super effective against older women.)

Klaud: ...Fine.

Vincent: Thanks Klaud. *hug*

After that, the two slept in each other’s embrace for the rest of the day. Lau guarded their room the entire time (B: #LAUBESTWINGMANINANIME!)

Time Skip

Vincent was now Seven years old. Here’s what happened in the past few months.

Flashback

After the incident with the Noah was reported to the higher ups, Vincent and Alex were immediately rewarded for their actions in saving General Klaud and her two escorts. Since it was undeniable that despite being so young their strength was at the level of the Order’s best exorcists, the two were promoted to official exorcists, which Vincent was extremely satisfied with due to the fact that he would be rewarded for the title.

Vincent’s reaction: (Fuck Yeah!!! More insects!!!) *smirk*

Alex: ...I didn’t really think you were someone that liked titles so much Vincent.

Klaud: Me either, and I spend every day with you.

Vincent: Ah, no, I’m not petty like that(depends), I was just really happy about the fact that eventually I’ll be able to go out and search for innocence while hunting for akuma. Now that I’m an official exorcist, all I need to do is wait for our new team member that the higher ups mentioned.

Alex: Oh, I guess that makes more sense. Well, as your partner, I’m glad we feel the same.

When Alex and Vincent were promoted, it was declared that since they worked so well together during the Noah incident that they would form a group together with the next new recruit that would show up in a few more months. Klaud agreed as well that they would probably work best together, but in her mind she subconsciously felt bitter about the matter. Nonetheless, since it was decided that Vincent would still continue to stay with her, she acted as if she didn’t care.

Vincent: Mm, I look forward to working with you, Alex.

Thus began a new chapter to Vincent’s life. A typical day for him from then on was a bit different than what it was before. Since Alex was now assigned to his future team, they would have to spend time together do develop their bond. Klaud was expecially against this, coming up with excuses such as how she didn’t want to take care of another brat, but she was overruled by the majority vote of the generals who had come back after being told about the Noah incident(Cross was not present). So, Vincent’s day began a little bit like this…

Wake up next to either Klaud, Alex, or both(Alex became more aggressive after being saved by Vincent. Klaud also didn’t want to give up her nightly activities, so they came up with a compromise to share him. They would each get some nights alone with him, but they sometimes shared to try and see how the other would handle Vincent. Klaud didn’t engage in her “play” with Vincent during these nights, but it was free game once it was only her and Vincent on the bed.)

Eat breakfast with the two of them(They would both try to spoon feed him.)

Train(He now sometimes had to fight against Klaud, Lau and Alex at the same time, which he never won until after his 6th birthday)

Alex would sometimes try to get Vincent to go on an outing with her.

Go to bed with them and sleep(Do “more” if it was only Klaud). He would also occasionally go the other dimension to fool around with Ezra so as to not let her be lonely and train a little in his inner world so as to bring his goal of conquering Ana a little step closer. Besides this he had his clones train his other body. Ezra would take care of the farm for him since she wanted to be of more use to him. Vincent noticed that she was always worrying if she was doing good enough, so as to give her peace of mind, he chose to get rid of any thoughts of buying more insects for the time being. He also thought that if the time came where he allowed Ezra to come out of his dimension(he can for a small fee of 1000 C-points), he would want her to be able to defend herself. Even if she wouldn’t really die since that is the effect of the Contracted Being System, he still didn’t want her to experience death. So, since she already had the name, he bought the best matching enhancement for her that he could get for the time being.

The number of armor and weapons the user can access is limited to the user’s magical power, and will increase alongside it. This enhancement comes with the default “Heart Kreuz armor” along with a basic sword that strengthens with the user's magical power. More armor can be unlocked by spending C-points or by simply adding armor that belongs to to the user.

When Vincent told Ezra about what he planned to give her, he was immediately hugged by the crying purple haired beauty who continued bawling her eyes out over how he was stupid to spend something so valuable on her. When she was done, Vincent told her that it wasn’t just for her, it was also for him. With a lecherous smile, he told her that he looked forward to testing out just how fast she could change outfits at night. Of course, that was just a small part of the reason, but with a blushing face, Ezra said that if her bought her the enhancement, then she would be happy to use it for him whenever.(A: This counts as special enough, so look out for a side chapter later on...)

Besides this, nothing else really happened. Vincent continued to train both his bodies at once through the use of shadow clones, he increased his chakra amount by a little less than ⅓, he strengthened his bond with both Ana and his innocence by going into his “special” mode which combined them (Alex and Klaud questioned him, but he played it off as something like bringing his innocence to a higher level. He made sure to hold back though, otherwise he could have easily beaten Klaud, Lau and Alex in a fight during the early days.), he successfully grew plenty of senzu beans, and the amount of Kidaichu he had continued to grow at a much higher rate since the system made it so that some animals that were in the space were only female so that they would simply give birth. By present time, he had close to 200 of them, each of them completely understanding his orders.

Ezra also continued growing plants in the one plot of free land, making sure to only grow ones from the seeds that Vincent would gather from the D.Grayman world. While there was a chance of their being unique plants in that world, the only ones Vincent knew of were the plants at Krory’s castle. Instead, he chose to give Ezra seeds from the food he ate such as watermelon, green beans, radishes, etc. Although they weren’t enough to instantly level up the farm, they would be enough to level it up within a year, which is what did happen. Nothing much happened other than a reward of 550 C-points, a few more extra plots of land, and the level up of things such as the weed killer and the house, but that made Vincent pretty happy since that meant he could gain points this way.

Ezra also continued to train diligently, making sure that she would steadily increase her magical powers and her ability to equip armour and weapons almost instantaneously. It would have taken her a long time to get to her current level, but thanks to the supply of Senzu beans, she was able to further quicken her training speed. Vincent was very “satisfied” with the results of her training, especially when she displayed them for him at night.” (B: Giggity.)

And so, things continued like this. Everyone that was involved with Vincent was steadily increasing in strength, and the Noah had yet to make a ruckus. Even the reported akuma sightings in Europe seemed to be dwindling over the year while the sightings slightly increased overseas. No one else but Vincent could possibly guess what was going on; however, he knew that the Earl and Noah were most likely preparing for the future since they were being so cautious of him. Regardless, Vincent was already training each day to his fullest, so he was already doing the best he could to prepare.

This continued until a little bit after Vincent turned 8, when the final member of his, Alex’s, and Klaud’s(she somehow got herself on it under the guise of the adult responsible for their safety) team was said to have been chosen.

Lenalee: H-Hello, my name is Lenalee Lee. P-Please take care of me.

Jack: From now on, this young lady will be a part of your team. Please treat her well. I'm sure she'll make a fine exorcist under your care. My superiors told me that she's been through quite a bit...

Alex: Nice to meet you, name's Alex.

Vincent: Hi, name's Vincent. It's nice to meet you. Welcome to the team. *smile*

Lenalee: ...

Vincent: (So, she’s finally here. Poor girl, I wish I could have done something for her before she had to suffer the trauma of being roughly whipped into an exorcist...) Don't worry, you won't have to suffer like that anymore.

Lenalee: ...*sniffle* W-wah!!!! It was so scary, and everyone was so mean to me, and my big brother wasn't there to help me, and- wahhh!

Vincent just hugged the poor girl as she cried since he knew that she had gone through something very tramatic for a girl her age. No one in the room said anything for a little while as they just watched the scene. It was as if they didn't want to wreck such a beautiful moment between a little girl and her older sibling...
