Chapter 27

Klaud POV (I'm doing her chapter early.)

Before I became an exorcist and joined the Black Order, I used to be an animal trainer at my parent's circus called Nine’s Home of Pandemonium. Ever since I could remember, I had always been helping my parents out, whether it be through doing random jobs or taking care of animals. Despite how busy my parents might be running a circus, they would always make sure to have enough time to hang out with me, never mistreating me. It was because of this that I always knew I was loved by the both of them.

Because of my unique way of life, I never really had a lot of time to make friends or really interact with people outside of the audience. My parents were the only ones I cared about, that is, until I met my partner Lau. It was my 9th birthday when we first met. I was running around the port in one of the cities we were stopping in when I saw Lau out of the corner of my eye lying unconscious on a wooden box. I approached him and saw that he was slightly injured. When my hand came into contact with him, I felt a slight connection between me and him being established. In that moment, I saw his life flash before my eyes.

There was an ordinary fruit growing on a tree in the middle of a rainforest when a lightning bolt suddenly struck it, giving it a golden shine. One day, after who know how long, a monkey came and picked off the fruit. It then brought back the fruit to where it's pregnant mate was about to give both and fed her it. After the first bite, the glow of the fruit faded away and it dissolved into dust. This alerted the male, but his mate started going into labor at this point so he shrugged it off while he stared worriedly at his mate, hoping that there would be no side effects.

After a few minutes, the baby was born. It had pinkish skin with small amounts of hair covering it. The parents saw nothing wrong with it, so they chose to forget about the fruit and live the following years as they had originally planned.

Lau grew up without any problems whatsoever. He had the same color fur as everyone else, he had his basic animal instincts, and he could move properly. He was even slightly more intelligent and stronger than others his age. This earned him top spot in his tribe of monkeys. His father was originally the head of the tribe, so Lau grew up pretty well off. His father would often encourage him to take up some of the girls from his harem, but Lau would always decline, saying that he felt it was wrong. Regardless of how strange Lau’s attitude was, his father didn't care all that much and just let Lau do what he wanted. The peaceful times lasted for a long time… eventually though, that era came to an end.

After a few years of peace, strange sounds started to come from nearby parts of the forest, followed by the sound of trees falling over. These sounds persisted for months, and whenever they would get closer, the tribe would make its way away from it. Eventually, Lau decided to investigate, and went off on his own to try and find out the cause of the loud noises. What he found when he made it to his destination was something that he had never seen before. Human beings. What Lau found were humans cutting down trees with huge pieces of metal. Lau’s curiosity got the better of him so he chose to try and make contact with the strange creatures in front of him. When he made his way towards them, 3 of the humans caught sight of him and gave off his location.

?: Check it out, it's a rare white toon monkey! And it looks quite young…

??: Aren't those the really expensive monkeys that people thought to be extinct?

??: Everyone, catch that monkey and we'll be well off enough to retire early!!!

Everyone: Ooohhhh!!!

And so, the humans chased poor Lau for a whole day until Lau seemingly lost them. However, he quickly found out that he was wrong.

?: Caught you!

Just as Lau thought he was safe up in a tree, he felt it start to fall down. Desperate to get off, Lau jumped for a nearby tree which he almost made it to except a net came down on him before he made.

??: Hahaha! It's just like the boss said, he would jump even though the distance was quite far. Hell yeah, we're rich!

After that, the rest of the memories I saw were quite jumbled up, with Lau having many interesting adventures before he finally made it to where I am. (A: Do you guys think I should give Lau his own story?) When I came to and realized where I was, Lau was looking down at me with eyes full of worry. I was glad that his injuries seemed to be gone, but then I remembered that I had a delivery to pick up. I asked Lau if he wanted to come with me and he just jumped on top of my head and hung on. Since I was still young, I didn't really understand what had just happened so I just decided to go on with my daily life. It wasn't until many years later that I understood what had really happened…

It happened a few days after my 16th birthday. I was now an official part of my parent's circus as the animal trainer. Ever since Lau came into life, I found that animals would mysteriously act more in line with my instructions. This had earned the respect of my parents and I was given permission to start training the animals. My parents didn't really ask about Lau that much, so we were allowed to stay together.

It was during the middle of our show when it happened.

?: Everyone run, there's monsters attacking!!!

??: Run!!! They're shooting at us! *scream*

Me: Mom! Dad! WHERE ARE YOU!?

Despite the danger, I went looking for my parents to make sure that they were alright. I went towards where my parents should have been behind the curtains, but what I found left me horrified.

Akuma: Oh, so sorry, but it seems like you're parents are dead. Don't worry, you'll be joining them soon, so just stay right there for now.

In front of my eyes were my now dead parents with bullet holes through their heads. Next to them were 2 strange looking creatures with cannons on their bodies and a weird animal unlike anything I'd ever seen that spoke to me.

Me: ...Did you kill mom and dad?

Akuma: Hahaha, we sure did, but like I said, don't worry, just sit back and- What the $#%$!!!

I couldn't think straight at that moment. All I felt was an intense desire was to turn the monsters in front of me into ash for taking away 2 of the 3 people I cared about besides myself. I wanted them to disappear. I wanted them dead. And it is through those feelings of mine that caused Lau to first transform.

Ever since we met, we had always had a bond just like any other exorcist and their innocence. Although I didn't know those terms at the time, that didn't change what we were. Lau was my innocence, and as my innocence, he was my anti-akuma weapon. He reacted to my feelings of wanting the akuma destroyed, and transformed for the first time. I don't remember much about how Lau killed them, but I do remember the clear picture of the akuma lying in pieces in front of me with Lau in his battle form. When I regained my awareness, I realized that Lau was back to his normal self and was lying on my shoulder while a group of people were standing next to me. They were exorcists, and when they arrived at town to deal with the akuma, they came across me. They asked me questions about who I was, and when I showed them Lau, they told me that I was also an exorcist. Since I knew that my parents were dead and what I experienced wasn't a dream, I decided that it'd be better to just go with them since this way I could stay with Lau. They told me that I had to go with them to be able to stay with him. I didn't want to lose anymore loved ones.

Over the following years, I learned how to properly fight and have Lau transform into his battle mode. I also learned that Lau was the only animal innocence to ever be seen, and this made it so that I was especially groomed to be one of the best exorcists.

Before I eventually became a general, there were only 2 other ones at the time. I didn't become a general until I was 19, but that bastard Cross managed it when he was 18… Oh, did I forget to mention that idiotic, disgusting waste of space\loser of a man? During my first year of becoming an exorcist the bastard would constantly hit on me. I think that if Lau wasn't intimidating enough, then he might have tried sexually harassing me… I trained myself extra hard to make sure that never happened.

And so, life continued like that for a while. Everyone at Black Order headquarters was nice to me, so I saw them as friends. However, I never really saw anyone besides Lau as anything close to family. Don't get me wrong, I would do my best to help everyone, but I just never felt that thick of a bond with anyone else… that is, until I met a little boy by the name, Vincent.

I had been called back from duty for the annual general meeting when I first met him. I was extremely surprised when a 5 year old boy walked into the room. I had been told he was young despite his feats, but I hadn't thought him to be this young! If that wasn't enough, apparently it turned out that after being probed, he was supposedly humanity's saviour. This wasn't the end, oh no. The next surprise came when he told me the reason he chose me to be his mentor was because he said I looked like his mother.

Me, a mother!? I had devoted almost all my time to working that I never really had any thoughts on the matter, so I was quite thrown off. That damn Cross was laughing his ass off, goddamnit kid, you just gave him more ammo to annoy me with…

After getting to know Vincent better, I came to see that he wasn't quite as useless as I thought he'd be. If anything, he'd be my ideal man, that is, if he was older. No way anything would happen between. As far as this relationship goes, it is strictly buisness. (B:Wait for it...)

OMG. What just happened!!! How could I do that!!! I hadn't even kissed a guy and I went that far with a kid who-

Just how could my drunk self allow this to happen!?

Aw, but he looks so adorable when he sleeps…W-wait a minute, don't get sidetracked. Um... Ah! I-it was just so we could bond, that's it! Besides, this won't happen later on, it's like we took a bath! Things like baths between family members is perfectly alright. So it's alright to do that as much as I want since it's for his well-being. (B: Gentleman, take notes. This is how to brainwash a milf.)

I, I just can't stop. He makes me feel powerless…

M-more~

I-I think he's actually awake when he does it, otherwise he wouldn't be so skillful…

Hyah! I don't care anymore, I can't live without him. He's so caring, he's so mature, and he- Hyah, I'm dying!!!

I don't like how Alex hangs out with Vincent so much… He better make up for it tonight…

Oh great, another one. Wait, why are they gonna be living with us!? Aww, our nightly activities are gonna decrease...

I-I can't take it!!! I know he's awake when he does it, so it should be alright if I ask him to do it during the day when we're alone, right?

It's just me and the other 2 today. We decided to have a girl's talk. Turns out I was right, Vincent was doing naughty things with them… W-will he stop doing them with me if I tell him to stop? NO, I don't want him to hate me!!! I don't care if it's not just me, just as long as he stays with me forever… ah, I see. I'm not the only one. The others feel the same. Alright, since we're in agreement, then let's support each other so that Vincent will never leave us!!! Fufufu, get ready Vincent, it's all because you started it...

Present time

Ahh… What happened? I think I got attacked by the black mist and then I felt like I was stabbed… Ahh, it feels so cold and dark… am I dead? But I don't want to be dead, I want to stay with Lau and Vincent forever. Please, someone, Lau, Vincent, save me…

?: *chuckle* So that's how you feel. Understood Klaud, you'll be staying with me and Lau forever. Remember though, if you agree, then you're mine forever as well. So, what do you want to do?

Who is that? It isn't a voice I've ever heard before, but it feels so familiar… it gives me a warm feeling… I want to stay with the owner of this voice. He said I can be with Lau, but what about Vincent?

?: Don't worry, he'll also be there. You'll be his forever and ever.

But wouldn't I be yours? Wait... are you Vincent?

Vincent: Thought you'd never recognise me. Yup, it's me. So, what do you say Klaud?

Can I really be with you and Lau forever and ever?

Vincent: yup.

Then what are you waiting for? Hurry up and do it you dumb brat.

Vincent: Ho~ looks like you need some more conditioning. Don't worry, we can work on that later… for now though, hurry up and accept.

??: Player Mike Unknown has sent you a Sentient Being Contract. Do you wish to accept?

I do.

??: Authorization accepted. From now, you will forever belong to Player Mike Unkown.

Vincent: Good girl. Now, relax a little bit. Lau should be okay, so just rest worry free for now. After this over, I'll explain things more carefully to you later.

You better. Trying to make a fool out of me…

I'm starting to fade into a deep sleep… I feel at peace right now. I am happy. My name is Klaud Nine. I had a wonderful pair of caring parents. My beloved family used to be just them and Lau. Now it includes one more person, the man who is the reason I feel so relaxed. His name is Vincent Nine, and though the me in the past would probably never think it, I want to stay with him for the rest of my life...
