Glimpse
In the year Xxxx.
The land was engulfed in war, the kingdoms rallied in one banner against the conquering legions of the demon horde. The forces of evil marched and dominated every thing on their path, they plundered, massacred, corrupted the land which they set their sights upon.
In a not far away forest.
The forest was raided by demonlings, minions of the demon lord, they killed every living thing they came across. The forest was home to elves, wood elves to be exact. They tried their best to hold the enemies at bay but to know avail, the demonlings sheer number made them lose the battle. The great wood city of the elves burnt as the enemies marched into the forest.
The elves ran deeper into the forest as they lost their city. The demonlings ran after them as they seeked more bloodshed.
Thus, this is where our story begins.
Deep in the forest, an elf riding a majestic beast holding a cub ran to escape the fiery clutches of the enemy. The elf was the young prince of the wood elves, and on his lap, lay a cub which to elven folks we're like holy beasts. The Prince was ordered to escape by the king, as the city was engulfed in flames. The Prince was tasked to ensure the safety of the holy beast, to them the beasts holds a great authority on choosing the next king to sit on the throne.
The beasts we're blessed by the goddess of life, Gaia. It was said that the white lions we're the knights that guarded the goddess. Once every few centuries, a special cub is born to choose who the next ruler of all the elven races will be. The Prince mount, a lioness was enduring a fatal wound as it ran through the forest. The lioness saved the the prince as the battle in the city became more fierce. The lioness was slowing down every stride it took, the prince knowing this, decided to take his chances against the enemy that was on pursuit.
The Prince ordered his lion mount to escape with the cub, seeing as the mount cannot carry him due to its wound, he cast a skill, 《Healing Grace》a skill that heals overtime and slightly making the recipient gain temporary strength.
"Please Riful, take him to a safe place far away from here."
The lioness understood what her master was going to do, instantly she pounced with all her might and ran towards safety.
"Now time to end this." The Prince looked at the mount ran with new strength, facing backwards he readied his weapons knowing that enemies are coming towards him.
A few moments later.
"Resistance is futile elven prince, you and your race will fall like the city your race took pride on." The monster let out as it held the weapons on both its hands, circling the prince waiting for a chance to attack. As it circled the prince, its comrades now showed themselves taking out their weapons as they walked towards the elf.
"Your kind will never prevail foul beast." Brandishing his sword, the prince let out his aura. The light covering his body shone brightly, giving him a chance to strike the enemies infront of him due to the sudden surge of light blinding the enemies for a bit. (Just think of Legolas, but instead of a bow think of a sword as his weapon)
The Prince was a force to be reckoned with, he instantly defeated the enemy infront of him, and with every precise strike he continued to kill them one at a time.

Regaining their sight, the remaining forces of evil tried to fight back but to no avail they fell one after another by the prince sword.
"Riful, be safe."
The Prince can only wish that his mount will take the cub to safety. Deciding to search for other survivors, the prince went deeper in the forest, trying to find any elves who escaped the clutches of the enemy.

Riful kept on running, only making short stops to rest. She looked at the white lion cub as it played with its tail. Never did she expect to have a cub of her own, now she is taking care of the cub for the past weeks. She looked at the horizon, and back to the cub. She knew how important the white lion cub is, thats why she is taking the cub to the holy city of Elves, The City of Light. All her life she only set foot on the holy city once and remembering the long travel, she knew it will take months before she can finally arrive at the city.
The long journey begun for the cub and for the mighty mount towards the fabled city of the elven race.
Riful belonged to the proud race of litigons, mounts for elven kings. (Litigon- if you play dota 2 its one of miranas mounts)
Tasked with the cubs safety, she knew how dangerous the travel will be. Now that the land is engulfed in war. She took pride in her speed, being one of fastest in her race, she put the safety of the cub first, causing her to be cautious as they traveled.
As they traveled, Riful can only cry within as she traveled in the once lush forests of the mountains, now only ash can be seen left behind by the invading forces of the enemy. Towns and villages that once offered shelter to travelers were now ruins as war spread all over the land. Riful was crying for the land they lived in.
○○○
A month passed and the remnants of the ravaged villages and cities we're all gathered at one place, - The City of Light, one of the remaining places of refuge for the survivors of the torn land.
All kinds of races were gathered in the city, Elves, dwarves, beastmen, humans and many more. The majority of them were getting ready to fight the armies of the demon lord.
The ones who are not capable of fighting were sneaking out of the city, women, children and old people from different races traveled underneath the secret passages of the city. They were heading for the kingdom of Acopia, the last fortress of mankind. Accompanied by elite troops from each race, they traveled quickly not wanting the enemy to know about their plan. Though it shouldn't be called the last fortress, it would rather be called the gate which stands between the enemy and their conquest to total domination. The world is divided into continents, and the demon lord started its conquest in the continent of Sakraiya, one of the biggest continent in the world. Unknown to the demon lord, this is where he met the most resistance in his conquest and this is where his dream of world domination ended.
The combined forces of the races were trying to gain time for their loved ones to safelty travel to Acopia. The City of Light can stand against the armies of the enemy for a months time before it will fall. It was enough for the escaping party to gain a wide margin from the enemy troops. Their plan was to stall the enemy and after a month, escape using the passage then block the passage for safety purposes.

They knew that if the plan fails all hopes are lost. For them and the escaping party, the need to stall for time is the essence for them to achieve their goal. Acopia, was where the last stand will happen. All the forces of the land were gathering for the final battle.
Hearing the drums and shouts of the enemy, the defence against the horde will soon start.
□□□□
Riful never expected enemies heading to the City of Light. She and the cub was about to reach the boundary of the elven land, when she stumbled upon an army of them camping just below the mountain path she traveled. She prioritized stealth as she traveled for the city causing her to travel in certain places just to reach the city, if she used the road to the city she would've reached it by now but she knew that enemy troops would ambush anyone using the road.
Fear and hopelessness started to grip her heart. What would she do now? Suddenly she remembered the prince once mentioned an alliance being made in the Kingdom of Acopia to battle the demon horde. She set her sights to the north, to the place where she hopes she finds answers.
The journey to Acopia was dangerous due to enemies raiding human settlements along the way. Riful saw villages burn down too many times along the way, and now another village will fall down, she kept staring forward trying her best not to attack the enemies which raided the village.
"Please!!! Help, someone, anybody.... please. .."
A cry of desperation came out of no where, the voice came from a girl for sure. Riful having a fight with herself, hiding the cub and telling it to stay hidden, then ran towards the voice.
"Die little pig-chiiekkk, your flesh will really be delicious-chiekk once cooked." The orc laughed as it got nearer to the little girl, laughing maniacally, drool falling from its ugly mouth.
"Noooo."
Suddenly a white figure attacked the orc, the orc stumbled a little but regained ita footing. Not given a chance to retaliate, Riful pounced at the orc aiming for its neck. She knew that with the orcs body any attack aimed besides its neck would not cause maximum damage. A sure kill move is what she aimed for. The orc fell down after a long struggle.
"M...m..mama, P....p...p.pa.pa." The little girl was crying as she saw her parents bodies laying motionless on the ground.
"Little one I'm sorry, if only I came sooner."
Riful could only stare at the little girl. Suddenly the girl came running towards her and hugged her tightly, the little girl held Riful like her life depended on it.
"We must escape, or else other enemies will come for us."
Riful layed down for the girl to easily climb her back, once the girl sat comfortably she took of not wanting to attract any enemies as they headed towards the cub.
□□□
Half a month passed and now Riful was taking care of two children, a cub and a human child. Riful always called the little lion "Cub" she wasnt great when it comes to naming things, Cub and Imogen played as they rested in a hidden cave. The little girl was named Imogen Nightfell, 7 years of age. Riful now scouted the area looking for enemy troops that may be lurking.
Riful didnt expect to see women, children and old people of all races marching northward. By the looks of it she knew they were heading to Acopia, she quickly returned to the hidden cave and took Cub and Imogen to join the party. She knew joining them may be disadvantageous but right now what she really needed was companions.
The marching party halted as they saw a great lion emerging from the forest, on its back was a little girl holding a cub. After some introduction the march was once again continued.
Little did they know that ahead of them were enemies camping, also headed to Acopia to lay siege on the human city.
★★★
"Leader, our scouts saw people marching just a few leagues from the south." A goblin raider reported.
"Refugees heading to that damned city. Tell the army to ready for an attack. We march and kill them."
"Uhhhhhhwwwaaaakkkkkk!!!" A screech deafening to the ear was let out by the Impling.
A sound signaling to get ready for an attack.
☆☆☆
"Enemies ahead of us!"
A young man wearing leather clothes shouted, as he ran back towards the refugees.
"Noooo. We're all going to die." An old woman grimaced.
The people hysterically let out a cry of desperation. Everyone knew that the enemies would kill all of them if not, enslave them.
"Everyone take arms, if you dont want to die fight!"
A roar suddenly made the people wince, they looked at the mighty lion infront of the march.
"Take arms, fight till the last man standing!"
Riful knew that if they tried to escape now they would be hunted like animals, she can ran but being a proud Litigon, she would rather die fighting than escape with the cub and Imogen.
A sudden sound of drums and shrieks we're sounding ahead of them, causing every abled body to take arms. They knew the enemy army is coming for them.
"Please Goddess, save us!"
Some started praying, kneeling and asking for help. Everyone had death plastered on their faces.
"Imogen stick by my side, if the Goddess permits we may live through this hell."
"Yes Aunt Riful, Cub come here." Imogen hugged Cub tightly. She knew that Riful will keep them safe.
'God if your real please save us, please save us. Please.' Little Imogen prayed in her mind.
"Shwuuuuaaakkkk!" A shriek came from the enemy leader ordering an attack, all of them came running towards the scared prey right infront of them.
An ogre was about to swing ita club when suddenly a bright light came in front of it. All of them, enemies and refugees were staring at the bright light. All standing still, waiting for the light to diminish.
¤¤¤
Imogen's PoV
The light made me close my eyes, what could that be. I opened my eyes as the light started to die out.
There I saw a man standing, his weapon stuck in the ogres belly then the ogre fell down. Is that big sword his weapon? Maybe he came to save us.
Suddenly he looked back at us then to the enemy army. He looked like a strong person.
"Please save us mister." I let out.
¤¤¤
Riful's PoV
I heard Imogen speak and then that man vanished infront of us. I looked at where he is, he is not in front of us anymore. He is at the enemies side. He then leaped at the enemies, slashing the goblins in two. The orcs stood like animals infront of him. "Wow." Suddenly his weapon started glowing red and little by little the color changed till it became a dark shade of red as bodies started piling up around him. What a menacing aura he let out.
I couldnt believe what was happening in front of me, the enemies were being slaughtered as he moved forward. The goblins we're trying to ran away from him but the enemy leader killed any goblin that tried to escape as it moved towards the man.
"Are you the commander?" The man covered in red said.
"You human dare to challenge us? The demon hord.."
The demonling didnt have a chance to finish what it was saying when a sudden burst of aura cleaved its body apart. The young man only did a horizontal cut with his weapon and the enemy commander was instantly killed.
The enemies we're all running away now from the young man, but he followed them and with only a few slashes the enemies we're either cut in half or blown to pieces.
'What a destructive power.'
We watched as he defeated an army all by himself. All of us stared dumbfounded at our savior. The demon commander would've been a tough enemy to kill even for me but with him only a single motion did the job. I noticed that his weapon lost its shade of red when the burst of aura is unleashed, maybe thats what happened when he cleaved the commander.
He started walking towards us as he finished killing all the enemies.
"Are you all alright?" He said to us.
All I could do was stare at him as he stood there.
¤¤◆
Imogen's PoV
"Wow."
All of us just saw an unbelievable thing happen right infront of us. No one can defeat an army single handedly yet this man did it.
He came towards us after killing all the enemies. I thought he was an old man but instead he looks younger, a big brother.
"Are you all alright?" He asked.
"Thank you big brother for saving us." I said to him.
"No need for thanks. I only did what any person would do."
Suddenly Riful spoke, "May I ask what your name is hero?"
"I'm no hero. I am..."
He was about to say his name but was stopped by the leader of the refugees.
"You saved us, you are a hero." The old man bowed at him showing his thanks and all the others followed. The people were expressing their thanks towards our savior.
I walked towards him, Cub following me, " Big brother, may I ask what your name is?"
"Oh sorry I forgot to introduce my self, I am Requiem."
