《Immortal Ascension Tower (OLD)》Chapter 85 - Five Phrases Shake The Heavens!

"Such a sharp tongue you have there, fellow disciple..." Tai Dong paled, his eyes bloodshot "Let's see if your strength is just as big as your arrogance!"
Fang Lu's eyes glinted again "Yes... Show me that your strength isn't only as small as your dick!"
"AHAHAHAH!" Fu Yin fell once more, his mouth foaming and his eyes showing white.
"Sister, did Brother Fu Yin just pass out?" Sou Rou asked.
"Leave him alone. I hope he drowns" Xiao Wu humped and then looked away: "He could have told me the trick that Te Rin used earlier instead of bragging!"
Sou Rou sighed as Fu Yin's body spasmed on the ground, tears streaking down his cheeks.
Tai Dong roared and waved his hands: flames appeared on top of his body and they took the form of fiery, blazing tigers.
"Too bad... I thought that this would be an amusing match, but I reckon it's going to finish soon" Fu Yin nodded as he wiped away the drool from the corner of his mouth. His eyes were bloodshot and were back to their usual lifeless, look, but he looked fine otherwise.
"Mmm? Why" Xiao Wu inquired.
"Seriously? You aren't going to ask how he recovered so fast?" Sou Rou scoffed.
"No one whose cultivation revolves around the five elements will ever achieve victory against Fang Lu, unless they are on completely different stages." Fu Yin smiled knowingly as his lifeless eyes scanned the battlefield.
Sou Rou stared in shock and looked at Fu Yin in disbelief "For real? Is that really true?"
Fu Yin smiled bitterly and his eyes showed a hint of amusement as he looked at the scroll on the back of the chubby youth "Yes. Complete control over the nine main and sub elements, the ability to counter strength with weakness..."
"Think about it, Sis, what is the weakness of fire?" He asked
"Water, of course!" Xiao Wu answered: this was amongst the basic of the basics.
"Weakness of water?" The boy asked once again.
"Wood!" The young girl smiled confidently
"What about Wood?"
"Wind!"
"And Wind?"
"Fire!"
"Good. Finally what about Metal?" Fu Yin nodded.
"Metal is strong against Wood and Wind but is weak towards Fire and Water!"
"Correct. Now, if we think of weakness as only needing half the power to counter a full-power attack from the opponent, then what would that mean?" Fu Yin's eyes glinted.

"That he would always be a step ahead of an opponent that uses the five elements..." Sou Rou furrowed her brows as Xiao Wu's eyes lit up:
"As long as it is one of the elements, he can counter them perfectly!"
The young girl then pondered out aloud "Senior Fang Lu's ability is to control the Nine Main and Sub elements... Does that mean he will always be able to counter strength with weakness and attack the weak with strength?"
"Right on point Sis!" Fu Yin nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly "And, as most low-level cultivators cultivate simple cultivation methods that stem from branches of the Five Elements' scriptures, he would be unrivalled wherever he goes as long as he is careful..."
As Fu Yin talked, Tai Dong roared to the heavens and the illusion of a fiery tiger appeared behind him: it was more than ten feet tall and had three, fiery eyes that seemed to be able to break a weak man's mind.
"Die!" He shouted as the blazing tiger roared to the heavens and dashed towards Fang Lu, leaving behind a trail of burning embers.
The chubby youth smiled and simply tapped the ground with his right foot: a strange ripple sounded out as everything seemed to slow down. The scroll hanging on Fang Lu's back suddenly slipped out of its case and began to float in mid-air.
Then, a nine-colored flash of light seeped out as the gigantic scroll unravelled. As soon as it was completely open, massive pressure exuded out. Had Cheng Hao been there to witness the scene, he would have widened his eyes and then smiled bitterly while praising the youth's carefulness in his mind.
Why? Because this scroll wasn't the same that usually hung from Fang Lu's back, nor was it the one who the youth had shown the golden-eyed boy! It was instead something much, much scarier.
It was a Martial Way! Yet, few if not nobody, would notice this, because the fake he usually showed to the public looked exactly the same as the one he was using now! The only ones who would notice something was strange would be those who had already experienced the might of a Martial Way, thus, very few people.
After all, Fang Lu had no way of hiding it in his consciousness as he had no such thing as a Pseudo-Core, so where should he hide it? In plain sight! Right under everyone's noses!
If he wore the fake and the original at random, people might notice that the power of the two were different, at times being strong, much stronger than it should be... Yet, they would dismiss it as Fang Lu being at his peak, as other times the powerful pressure it previously exuded would be weak instead, and thus nobody would pay attention to that! Soon, they would not even notice it and dismiss it as it being normal!

Truly, ingenious!
Of course, the object being a Martial Way might have sounded shocking already... However that was still while the object was a Martial Way and a Martial Way alone!
However, that clearly was not only a Martial Way... As, as soon as the scroll unravelled, nine phrases written in a mysterious language and made of strange materials were revealed for the public to see!
What did that mean? That the power the Scroll would show would not be a 'simple' pressure that Martial Ways naturally exuded, but also the strength of the pāramitā's nine truths about the Nine Main and Sub elements!
Fang Lu smiled viciously and his eyes spit out fire as he opened his mouth "You and I had no enmity... But you called me fatty... That is a no-no! I am just slightly overweight you asshole!"
He then opened his mouth and the words on the scroll behind fang Lu lit up: of the nine truths, one seemed to be written down in flowing water. At that moment... Five of the Nine Pictograms on the water's section lit up!
Mu Gu up above paled as he dashed downwards "For fuck's sake, Lu! What the hell! Do you want to kill him?!?"
Fang Lu inhaled to his utmost and then yelled at the top of his lungs:
"Oh, Water! A Surging River! A Raging Torrent! You Shall Fear The Sea! Drown Under Its Fierce Assault!" Each words seemed to make the Earth tremble and the Heavens cower in fear as the pāramitān language showed its might!
At first, it had only been a mass of water a few feet in diameter. With each verse though, it had first transformed into a river, then that river had grown in size dramatically, it had become half as big as the whole stage! The mass of water floated in mid-air, circling around the gigantic scroll.
With the fourth verse, it had turned into a fierce water serpent almost twice as big as the previous torrent, its eyes scanning Tai Dong's body as if it was looking at a tasty snack...
However. With the fifth verse... That dragon roared as it turned into an illusory tsunami, as tall as the Arena itself!
The flaming tiger summoned by Tai Dong? It had long since disappeared, extinguished by the fierce will of the water serpent, and its summoner had fallen to his knees shortly after that...
All that without even having received the true attack! A strong(er) smell of urine emanated from the spot where Tai Dong knelt...
At that moment, both Sou Rou and Xiao Wu paled in fright: was that truly the power a Superior stage cultivator should have?
Fang Lu then inhaled once again. A sixth symbol began to glow slightly on the Scroll... The duo almost dislocated their jaws as they watched in astonishment: there was more?
Bang!
"You won already! Do you want to kill him, you idiotic disciple of mine?"
Everyone from the audience gaped at the scene of Mu Gu slapping Fang Lu so hard he sent him flying.
After that, Mu Gu stepped forward and caught his disciple before he fell down. Afterwards, he snapped his fingers, making a large sack appear. He threw his disciple in the sack and then waved his sleeve to collect the majestic scroll.
Having done all that, the green-haired old man sighed and then bowed his head in Tai Dong's direction: "I apologize for my disciple's behaviour, but he can't control himself when somebody calls him the f-word. Oh yeah, you lost. Please go wash yourself..."
As Mu Gu stepped forward and headed towards the stalls, Fang Lu's figure could still be seen squirming within the rudimentary sack but he couldn't get out. At some point, a single arm managed to escape the prison of cloth and flip off the petrified Tai Dong.
Twice.
It then made gestures with his index fingers as if he was writing in the air: s-m-a-l-l-d-i-c...
Bang!
"Ouch! Damn it, old man!" the chubby youth's voice could be heard as he lamented.
"Shut the hell up Little Lu!" The green-haired old man punched the sack once more and the youth's yells stopped...
Xiao Wu and Fu Yin sweat-dropped: after all that, there was still no way Fang Lu could possibly fight back against a Reverend stage cultivator while having a cultivation of the Superior stage...
For the moment, the title of heaven-defying genius still belonged to Cheng Hao and Cheng Hao only!

What was it that brought her back? Only time will tell. #Author's Note The novel is organized like this:Regular Chapters (Act, Title, Part (ranging from 1 to 9))Draft Chapter DisclaimerDraft Chapters (Entry Number, Perspective, Title, Part (ranging from i to ii)) Regular chapters are edited chapters that reflect the story aspect more while Draft chapters reflect plot progression more. An occasional interactive chapter will appear in the drafts but nowhere in the regular chapters. Expect changes when reading between Regular and Draft chapters as some events in the story may change in length or entirely removed/changed. Only read the draft version if you want a future view and/or opinion on the story and design elements. The main character is a human from a fantasy world reincarnated as a devil. The story possesses Reincarnators, Transmigrators, and Summoned Persons. though mainly focusing on Magic and other abilities such as Aura and Skills. Wizards (those who prepare arcane spells) and Mages (those who use elemental magic) are separate but seen as the same by common inhabitants of the world but clearly defined as different by more influential persons and by the circles themselves. The main character WILL not be a Mage or Wizard but will incorporate mana into her attacks to aid her as does any high-rank combatants. The system in the novel quantifies a person's abilities and keeps record of them but does not define natural ability, occasionally granting special abilities as skills to a person once prerequisites are met. There is no leveling system and no occupational systems in the novel featuring only a stat based and skill based system. Also, this novel is my first and will most likely be trash.
