Author's notes: Honestly im not sure how well im doing on this story, or if im getting any better at writing it. But i still want to continue it. Anyway, here you go. Ah, remember to rate, review or comment on whatever you want.
Edit: I'm re-writting some of the parts here. I made a reference to a certain story in which i made up my own fictional ending. Like, a alternate future type thing? Which was fine when i posted this, but recently after the story ended I thought i should just take that part out. I suppose i could explain it away by saying that the events of the story i made up actually existed, but in a different univers. Since, you know, a multi-verse exists in this story.
But i decided not to. That would be more of an alternate reality type of thing anyway.

Loki hovered several dozen feet in the sky, looking down at the two figures below. He had followed them for some time now and made sure to disguise his presence so he wouldn’t be noticed. It was one of the things he was best at. He didnt bother coming in his adult form, choosing instead to appear in his prepubescent years which matched well with his sense of aesthetics.
He had an itchy, exciting feeling inside him that day, the feeling he got whenever something interesting was about to happen. And so, following the feeling, he discovered the two walking out of their house and go to a fairly secluded area located quite far from their home.
However, the feeling cooled after they went into that cave, which irritated him to no end. Bored, he conjured up a couch and a TV to watch some anime, something that originated from one of the major planets called Earth. He and Roland once spent some time there and Loki quickly became addicted to the so-called anime. Earth's culture had spread somewhat to many other planets, but Loki hadn't visited Earth for several centuries before then, so he didnt know about anime and such. Surprisingly even Roland got into it a bit, though not at all to Loki's degree.
Hm. Or maybe not quite
This particular anime was about a orange haired boy who suddenly gained the powers of a shinigami, which was basically a type of death angel whose job it was to escort souls to the otherworld and such. It was an interesting show with around a thousand episodes all together. Of course the plot dragged on, as he found many of the long running anime or novels tend to do. Oh well. It was still entertaining to watch when he gets too bored. Other than picking up women and drinking, this was one of his favorite activites.

He munched on some pizza, another product from Earth, while watching it, but after nearly an hour he switched to some novels, idly reading. If anyone else was there and were to look up at the sky, seeing the strange sight would undoubtedly make them stare dumbly.
He continued that for some time when he suddenly felt a surge in power coming from the cave below, which, admittedly, caused him to fall off the comfortable couch. Luckily he was capable of flying or else he would have really gotten a bruise or two from the fall.
It was a cold, malevolent power that sent shivers through him. It didn’t feel right.
Several seconds later Roland came out carrying the girl in his arms. Loki noticed a surprising amout of mana and spirit energy emanating from the girl’s body. It whipped around them fiercely, causing substantial damage to their surroundings. Yet the way it eroded the ground around her was definitely not caused by the power she was radiating. No, it felt like she was absorbing life itself into her, causing the death of the grass she laid upon.
He saw Roland put a hand on her and siphon off the excess power while releasing it in waves, which of course caused even more damage. After that a burst of golden flames erupted from the girl’s body.
Hey, hey, aren’t those the flames that person uses? How did that girl there get a hold of them?
Loki let out a grin. It appeared he found some pretty interesting stuff after all~
Eh? What’s that black bead thing in his hands?
Loki squinted, using his enhanced vision to look at the small object Roland pulled from the girl’s chest just now. It felt strangely familiar. . .
Loki watched as Roland pocketed the strange object.
The girl started waking up.
Hm? Were her eyes always that color? No, no, they should be green right? He clearly remembered them green . . .
Ah, wait, that's the same color as Roland's eyes! the exact same shade and everything!
How odd. Huh. He wondered if they formed some sort of bond? Usually when things like this happen its because of things like that. hm. A Master-Servant Contract perhaps? No, though that would seem to be the case in any other situation, Roland doesnt really like things like that.

it would be idiotic to think that would be the case. There were a lot of other types of Contracts, but many of them require a certain "ritual". Loki didnt think Roland would "perform" the "ritual" with that girl, and there was really no need for him to form any contract like those with her anyway.
Besides, if he wanted to do that he could find someone much prettier~
It isn't like there are many women who would refuse him after all.
Though knowing him he probably just wouldnt want to make things complicated with a girl he may be spending a fair bit of time with.
So. . . a blood-link? Nn, that sounds about right. Its not really the same as those Contracts since neither party is compelled to be subservient to the other. Hehe, though that has its own problems you know~
She may end up getting a taste for it, right~
Ah, though really that may be bad. Who knows what could happen? He wondered what other changes would happen, other than having a change of eye color. Though even that wouldnt normally happen. Must have something to due with Roland's blood itself. His blood is pretty high-quality after all. There are many who would want to get their hands on some.
Loki saw Roland talking with the girl, holding a hand to her eyes. From that reaction maybe her senses were heightened? That would be normal given the sudden strength increase
It seems like she was still giving off a fair bit of excess power. He was curious how Roland did it, go around that curse. It's a pretty nasty one after all. Even Loki, a god who was pretty familiar with all manner of curses couldnt figure it out.
Loki watched them for several more minutes, but it seemed the only thing they were doing was some light training. Probably to work off the extra bit of energy and such. Certainly, that girl was incomparably weak before now. Without some exercise her body would break, you know.
Of course by Rolands standards light training was still considered inhuman. Ah, look at the poor girl, she's nearly half dead already, you want her to do more?
By the end, the girl could barely walk, having to lean on his body for support during their way back. Loki knew that she would be pretty worn out, but that flushed face wasnt just from the exercise~
She's nearly fallen already, isnt that a bit too fast?
Although given their situation, maybe not? The main thing here was just that she seemed to silently place a lot of faith in the man despite how short a time they knew each other. Who knows, she might really get attached, what would he do then!
Meh, whatever. Loki didnt really care either way. Or, well, he supposed it would be interesting to see how it developes. He especially wanted to know how that protective sister of hers will react.
Having seen enough, Loki made the couch and TV disappear before turning to leave. He remembered that their adoptive parents should be here anytime now. They seem to be running late. Maybe by the end of the day or tomorrow. That's right, it's about time for the Morrigan to finish up her businesss too. She should be coming back any day now. Hopefully Roland wont be too mad at him~ after all those two had a bit of history together once upon a time~
Though he didn't know the exact details, they must have had a peculiar relationship. Loki wasn't sure when they met each other for the first time, but for some reason the guy never wanted to see her if he could help it. And that made him curious, so he will neglect to tell him anything for now. Hehe, Roland is in for quite a surprise, in more ways than one. Ah, how fun. Loki was eagerly waiting for the day they returned, it'll be quite the show.
Loki's laugh echoed throughout the sky.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
