《Justice in the One Piece World》30. Floating Horror

Chapter 30
The days passed quickly with us intruding a few Marines classes to see what they were learning. Apparently the students here at MarineFord are those that the Marines have deemed have potential, and are thus granted officer status at a young age.
Sis and I sat in on a few lectures but got bored and just walked out…before being caught by the professor who started to say stuff. It took a while to explain that we weren’t really students here, quite hard to do when we’re 14 but I look 12. Once a Marine stood in for us and told us we were the new Vice Admirals, the professor quickly paled before apologizing.
Well, it was funny to see his reaction so we just said it’s okay before leaving. Next, we had the opportunity to speak with Garp who just returned from Water 7.
Garp: I don’t really say stuff like this often… but… I want to say thank you for saving my Grandson
Diana: We didn’t save him, we tried to arrest him.
Garp: Hah! I know enough of your powers to know they never stood a chance to begin with. I heard from him that you and your crew knocked everyone out except those two girls!
*flinch* Crap, looks Luffy just told him everything. Well, I hope none of the other Marines found out.
Garp: In other words… that means you let him go. I don’t know exactly why you did that… but it means a lot to me. Not as a fellow Vice Admiral but as a grandparent, thank you.
Diana: We just did what we needed to.
Garp: Heh, that’s enough for me I guess. *sigh* I still wonder, why didn’t they become Marines. They would’ve made excellent ones, like you two.
Looks like it’s finally time. From Garp’s reaction, it looks like Ace’s been defeated by BlackBeard already.

Garp: Well, look’s like this old man’s said too much. WAHAHAHAHA!
With that, he left.
The other preparations were close to complete. We got our Pacifista who looked a lot different than before. Maybe it was a troll but Dr. Vegapunk put a Santa’a hat on top of ours instead of his usual hat to ‘differentiate’ itself from the other models. Apparently, the study has developed much further than before so there were changes in his capabilities as well. He’s the first model of the PSX Series, so PSX-1 instead of PX. Quite cool, though I’m not sure what changed.
The Requiem went through a few checks by Doctor and Tim to make sure the engine wasn’t overheating or any other parts. They removed a little more of the deck but in return as long as we don’t open any windows and draw the iron curtain we can submerge in water. FishMan island was never on my list but it became a possibility after this. Wouldn’t want to rely on some weak air bubbles on our travel.
Diana: Yes! We’ll be there in a couple of days dad. Love you too :)
With that, we made plans to visit him in a few days. After all, our course was set towards Sabaody Archipelago after all.
*BEEP* *BEEP*
Sengoku’s voice then broadcasted over the entire headquarters from every Den Den Mushi
Sengoku: THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. ALL MARINES PLEASE ENTER THE HEADQUARTERS AND FIND SHELTER; THERE ARE AN UNKOWN FLYING OBJECTS FLYING TOWARDS OUR LOCATION! I REPEAT! FIND SHELTER IMMEDIATELY
I looked out the window of my quarters to see a massive Island flying towards the Marine Base followed by… dozens of floating Marine Warships that obviously had no control of themselves.
Diana: Sis!
Me: I know!
We jumped out of the window then up to Sengoku’s office. This was the fastest way to reach it. It was against regulations but emergencies call for breaking rules sometimes.

Me: Fleet Admiral! What’s going on!
Sengoku: Be quiet and get ready! We might need your devil fruit very soon. If that’s who I think it is…then he will for sure.
Garp was also in the room as well, looking over at the approaching flying mass of land with oars.
Garp: Why would be come back at this time? He should have stayed silent and remained a legend.
As the Massive Island passed over, it started to drop the Marine Warships right on top of the Headquarters.
Me: Who would do something this crazy?! *AARRGHH!*
I activated my devil fruit and caught all the ships before the hit the floor. Reverse gravity working overtime as strain showed on my face. For the first time, I felt my phantom limb burn as I reversed gravity on such a large area on in a short time. Once all the warships started to float again, I calmly put them all into Zero Gravity…
Me: Sis… I can’t do more. Using horizontal gravity at this point is too much for me. I might drop a few ships on accident.
With that, I slowly dropped the ships onto the ground, softly. The moment the last ship hit the ground, I collapsed from exhaustion. Stopping a dozen warships from hitting the floor when they were falling from Skydiving height maybe was a bit too much for me. I might be better than dad at dropping, but he was much better at lifting. Probably because his Devil Fruit is more specialized than mine.
Some Golden fool: Consider this a Warning Marines!
With that, the massive floating island left our sights, but I made sure to memorize the magnetic signature. I can’t allow such a threat against us to exist in this world. Can I?
Diana: Fleet Admiral, you have a lot of explaining to do. You know who that is, don’t you?
Sengoku: Shiki, the Golden Lion. Why did you come out of hiding?
He then turned to us with a grave face.
Sengoku: This is an emergency. Marine’s First Rapid Response Unit, this mission is of Utmost Importance. Your assignment is to remove Shiki at whatever cost. We’ll fill you in on what we know on the way to your ship. You must leave NOW.
Sis picked me up and put me on her back as we called for our crew to meet us at the Requiem, ready to go at any time.
On the way, he filled us in on his powers and strength back when he and Garp fought him…right here in MarineFord which ended in their victory but destroyed half of Marineford.
Sengoku: You are going up against one of the legendary pirates. One of the Strongest threats against the Marines to have ever existed. I don’t know what to say but… good luck.
That was all the time we could afford. Sarah started our ship as we flew towards the general location of where Shiki left. Into the sky, to chase possibly the Strongest Pirate we have ever seen.

But, with his talent as a mage, his potential accomplishments in the military could lead to titles of nobility and political power. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here
