《Alternate Dreams》Dream 29

As they had traveled Jessica had felt a little weird, her head always did when her mind tattoo was glowing. She didn't mention anything as it was probably her brain getting better or something, but it didn't matter for now. They could finally leave this underground hell! She was so excited! She didn't even know how long they had been in there for. Climbing the stairs, Eian led the way.
That big attack had been horrible and she still shuddered thinking how those things had bitten her legs and arms. She had managed to kill one with the long-spear, but it took it away as it died. She had had to resort to fighting with a small sword, it was soooo scary. Alex helped her get the last kill, a zombie Eian had dropped to the floor. Alex and Sarah had killed the other ones near her, though they both sustained injuries. She had thought Eian was dead again when she saw him charge foward like a manic, how the crazy idiot survived she didn't know. Also she was feeling happy she at least helped a bit this time, it was a pleasant feeling.
-'Thankfully this will be over soon. Maybe I'll be able to bathe and change out of this!' Jessica thought, a smile streched her face to almost comical lenghts.
As they exited the stairway they could see a few small rectangular slits along the wall illuminating everything. Due to the light they could see a group of guard skeletons were clearly standing still, from far away. She peeked through a light-slit and saw what she thought was a tree.
"Let's go it seems we're too far for the skeletons to react." Sarah.
"Yeah yeah." Eian seemed to be a little sour over-all considering the circumatances, in her opinion.
"Roger." Alex
"Yes!" Jessica.
As they approached the skeletons reacted to their prescence and approached. Eian and Alex took care of them easily.
Jessica finsihed off the last one in one aimed hit easily, she was getting good at that, though she wished she could help more soon. The skeletons were guarding a room that held nothing of interest. Sarah assured her something useful would happen once her Mind got high enough, though hopefully they would be out before that became nessecary. She was so happy, the crew was actually pretty nice, helping her so much. She even forgave Eian for his earlier dumb sarcastic remarks, he was pretty-brave doing crazy things for them afterall.
They passed a two corridors that led to what seemed deeper into the building since they had no light and a few guards at each entrance. They ignored those however, Sarah claimed they were most likely on the ground level and could most likely get out following the light-slits. They had to fight the guards though, and they split both groups as usual: Two Eian, Two Alex and one Jessica, they elimitated both groups so.

Soon they came upon a clear exit to the outside. Unforutonatly there were two rows of shielded skeletal-guards which made ten total, two guards with two-handed broad-swords stood behind them completely obscured by metal knight-armor and what seemed two robed skeleton-mages waiting for them upon the exit. They were standing there clearly waiting for them.
"*sigh*" Eian.
"No..." Jessica was losing hope.
"Well looks like thats the way out." Sarah stated the obvious.
"Do you think we can do it?" Alex.
"We will have to. Boys let them come to us. The skeletons swing hard, but move slow. I'll be able to send most to the ground. Eian, Alex, block those mage attacks, while I get enough time. Jessica stay near me and at least distract anything that gets too close." Sarah.
Eian absorbed an errant dark-ball with his shield.
"...okay..." Jessica, that didn't sound tooo hard, she didn't know what she would do if she had to charge in.
"Fuck." Eian.
"Relax man. We got this." Alex's confidence made her feel better.
"Okay let's go slowly, stay at a distance. We want them to come to us as soon as we are in their range. If anything, retreat away slowly to give me more time." Sarah.
"'Kay." Eian.
"Roger." Alex.
"..umm..okay?.." Jessica.
They approached slowly. Suddenly the skeltons troops began to advance towards them and Sarah unleashed her blue greater fire-balls blowing them backwards to crash unto the second row. They waited as the skeletons approached, Eian and Alex blocking any dark-balls, though Alex clearly staggered backwards absorbing them. Sarah managed to send out four more fire-balls strategically and they retreated slowly for her to spew two more, before the skeletons were too close. Only three regular guards, the two knights and the mages were still standing by then.
Eian charged like a maniac, blocking a two-handed blow from a knight and shrugging a hit from a regular guard with ease, Jessica wondered if he was still human. Alex also charged, and Jessica worried for him, he wasn't as strong nor durable as Eian. Alex attempted to block a two handed strike and it clearly staggered him, another blow from a guard cut into his arm, Jessica was on the verge of freaking.
Sarah threw a fire-ball at Alex's knight, whom surprisingly deflected it with his sword like a baseball.
Eian was desperately blocking, mages dark-balls, stray hits from two guards and two-hand blows which seemed hard to block. Alex was fighting a guard, a knight and a mage sent a dark-ball which caught him in the chest.
The skeletons Sarah had dropped were already up and coming foward.
"HELP ALEX!" Sarah.
Jessica froze. Surely she didn't mean her? Sarah sent another fire-ball foward. She looked at Alex struggling another guard was nearing, he wouldn't hesitate to help her. As a matter of fact, neither would Eian nor Sarah, she couldn't let them get hurt. She took a deep breathe much like how Sarah had taught, it felt an eternity ago. She felt a shudder run through her as she advanced. She saw a fire-ball streak foward and Eian's knight swatted it out of the air.

Jessica was a yard behind Alex now, the other skeleton joined his fight. She took aim at a guard that Alex was fighting, timed it perfectly and stabbed. She struggled to keep her eyes open, she saw it catch the small opening in it's med-helm, it collapsed. Alex struck his other skeleton down, Jessica saw a blue flash. She saw Alex stagger from blocking a dark-ball and a two-handed swing immediately after. She attacked the knight randomly, as she couldn't find a weak point, it bounced off.
"EVERYONE RETREAT SLOWLY!" Sarah.
"R..Roger! Thanks Jess!" Alex.
"Fuck!" Eian.
"HELP EIAN, JESS! REGULAR SKELETONS FIRST!" Sarah.
Jessica felt bad, but she knew she couldn't help Alex much or Eian could get hurt. She dashed behind Eian, whom was fighting like a viking, bleeding all over, she saw a blue flash. Another skeleton had joined his fight, though he had miraculously already killed one. She took aim at a skeleton helmet and stabbed, she missed, tried again and killed it. She saw a dark-ball streak towards her, she panicked. Eian intercepted it quickly and staggered backwards.
"MOVE!" Eian.
".y..yea..." Jessica.
"MOVE BACK A LITTLE!" Sarah
They backed away as the rest of the group neared. Jessica saw another skeleton had joined Alex's fight and saw more approaching from ahead. She saw a fire-ball collide into a skeleton-guard from behind and it was so well timed it bowled over another just behind it. Jessica took aim, Eian shield-bashed the knight with all his weight stumbling it, took a dark-ball to the chest and vicously attacked his remaining guard with a blow that sent it to the ground. Jessica used the oppurtunity to kill the guard on the floor.
"HELP ALEX! I GOT THIS!" Eian.
Jessica saw that two more skeletons-guards were attacking Alex. She saw a fire-ball zoom past them. As she ran to him, she saw a dark-ball coming towards her and she almost threw herself foward to avoid it. Soon she was near Alex and a skeleton disengaged him to fight her. She froze, but quickly gathered herself as it sent a sword-swing her way. She frantically backed-away quickly dodging, she took aim and as it swung its sword again. She predicited the sword's trajectory, evaded and counter-stabbed it perfectly in the face, it dropped surprising even her.
Alex had managed to kill his last guard and Eian had killed another by then. Alex and Eian killed the last two guards as they approached them. They were engaged with the knights and Jessica didn't know what to do about them. Jessica kept seeing fire-balls and dark balls zooming past, and sometimes the balls collided into either Eian or Alex. She looked an saw a mage was already dead, only one was currently exchanging attacks with Sarah, but was soon burning from Sarah's fire-ball. The mage collapsed in a pile.
"Jess give me ..some.. room." Sarah was breathing a bit hard.
"Ah." Jessica backed away from Alex.
She saw Sarah preparing two blue fire-balls. Sarah aimed at Alex's knight and sent them both foward. The knight deflected one, but the other sent it staggering back hard. Alex used his shield and sword to disarm it, he tackled it to the ground. Sarah prepared another two fire-balls and sent it to Eians knight, the same result occured. Alex managed to get the full-helmet off and stabbed it black-smoke skull. Eian also killed his knight by copying Alex, but he spent a while crushing it's skull completely.
"Fuck you again, you tough asshole." Eian wasn't too out of breathe, but finished cursing the... re...dead knight?
-'Can't call it dead knight, because it already dead.' Jessica supposed to herself.
"Calm..down.." Sarah was breathing heavily, pale and sweating, weird she wasn't supposed to feel heat.
"Are you okay Sarah?" Jessica was worried.
"Mostly. Got hit by a blob of death and I'm out of gas." Sarah was breathing hard.
"I'll... get to you guys soon. Gimme a sec." Alex was also breathing heavily.
"Yeah. yeah heard that before haha." Eian sat down on the floor and begun unstrapping his equipment.
Alex healed his worst wounds, he had sploches of dying flesh from the 'blobs of death' as Sarah called them. He proceeded to help Sarah, as he was a gentleman, it was over quickly and Sarah thanked him. Eian waited and Alex healed the worst gashes he had along with what Eian claimed was the worse head-ache he ever felt. Eian also had sploches of dead-flesh and Alex healed those, his helmet looked like it took a heavy blow recently. Alex was dead tired afterwards, no pun intended.
-'Finally the way is clear.' Jessica thought.
"Ummm guys. My tattoo's glowing." Eian.
"Mine too man." Alex.
"Interesting. Me too." Sarah.
Jessica's jaw almost dropped. She checked her one, sure enough it was glowing.
"....same here..." Jessica.
"Well at least I don't have to go throught that shit again." Eian had a smirk on his face.
"Yeah man that looked bad." Alex
"Bad? BAD?! Understatement of the year bro." Eian snorted
Her mind tattoo had not finished yet however.
"I can't choose mind yet." Jessica.
"Here." Sarah handed her left leather sleeve.
Jessica carefully placed it on her right arm without touching anything. Each of the others selected something and Jessica saw them close their eyes. She looked at the exit and felt anxious to get out, but she supposed a few seconds won't hurt.

This was my first attempt at writing a story, in hiatus indefinitely. This story follows Silvy, half-elf, a rare race despised by both humans and elves. Having never met her father, the first years of her life were spent together with her mother, who had to leave her native village because of the blasphemy she had committed by giving birth to Silvy. At the age of eight, Silvy became an orphan and was left to fend for herself. Her mother had died of illness, Silvy’s life turning upside down: the child went from living in a modest but cozy home with poor but daily meals to live outside the walls in the slums, where crime was commonplace and food was scarce. Luck had yet to abandon her completely though, because a group of orphans like Silvy decided to help, integrating her into their group and teaching the tricks of the trade; that is, stealing and swindling. But fate had not yet finished playing with her. Kidnapped and frightened, her life will turn upside down again when she awakens as undead, but still able to think clearly.

At least until he and three classmates are unrealistically transported to Nibiru, a legendary fantasy world ruled by mythological gods and inhabited by strange races and nightmarish monsters. The Garbage Man
2021/10/20 - Taking this down for a complete rewrite. I like the plot but the writing on the first attempt is... Garbage :/ Jack was just waiting for the storm to pass. It wouldn't. What it did was take him on the journey of a lifetime. A lot of lifetimes, in fact. This is a cultivation/wuxia story at its core. May contain young masters, martial arts and magic. * 14/08/2020 - Rough editing done on the published chapters, hooray! Now to resume normal - edited! - releases.
