Chapter 4: Recollection and Decision
When Tobias had left, Nalser laid down on the bed by the window and glanced outside. It was already late, the stars and the moon were high up in the sky. " The sky is the same as back home." when he saw the moon, a bit of nostalgia hit him and he recalled the moment before he was summoned here.
Every operative of Dragoncross had an exclusive Handler. Handlers were people who relayed the mission details, recorded either it was a success or a failure and distributed the specific weapons needed for the assignment. He had been in the Dragoncross for about 3 years. That was the time he first met the Handler, he still remembered the face the Handler had back then. It was obvious from his look, that if you could read his mind, it would just say "Is this a joke?"
Nalser was a war orphan. His father died on the front lines, while his mother died when he was 8. With no relative to take him in, orphanages were already stacked to the fullest, he was forcibly admitted to the military. For 3 years on the front line, he did what he was told. Gathered information, sabotaged the enemies supplies. At one point in time, a Dragoncross member stopped by the camp he was currently stationed in and heard rumors about him. After verifying the information, he made a report to the top brasses of Dragoncross and after an evaluation they took him in. At that moment Enn Tuul died and Nalser vi Dragoncross was born. On the records he died while sabotaging the enemy camp.

The only person he actually gave a damn about, in that world, was the Handler, Old Timer. He never learned his name, so he called him: Old Timer. "I wonder, how is the Old Timer doing. More importantly, how is he going to explain me being transported here without looking like a lunatic. Well, nothing I can do from here." While thinking about Old Timer, he remembered the dogtag he got from him. " Even for custom made dog tags like this, there are always two of them. Where's the other one?" While gazing at the dog tag, he suddenly realized that and remembered seeing a dogtag chain on the Old Timer's neck. Since he never wore any necklaces or the sorts, a warm smile broke out on Nalser's face.
" Wellp, whatever. At least he will remember me. Now then, the important question is: What to do from now on?" while clearing his head, he started pondering about what to do next. "If I stay here, at some point the King won't give a damn about Tobias and will either forcibly enlist me or kill me. Best option is to go on a tour across the continent. There will be a lot of places to see and who knows, maybe I'll find something interesting to do that won't involve me going to the front lines." While he was in his old world, he couldn't get away from the war and would've died if he wasn't enlisted in the army. Here he had a choice to go anywhere he wanted.
The war in his old world was a politicians game. 21st of March 2077 a nuke went off in a major city in Russia. No one took the blame but pointed fingers at each other, until it escalated into war. At some point in time, there were various rumors about a terrorist group doing it but it was never confirmed. Since everyone had different political views, the flame of war spread quickly from minor skirmishes to an all-out war.

"No use in thinking about it now, I have no part in it anymore. From what Tobias said, this room has a magic enchantment in it." Clearing his mind and deciding to not speculate anymore, he started looking around the room. He had heard from Tobiast that this room had a magic enchantment " Tranquility". It was used mainly in inns to let the people resting inside be at peace and do their own things without being disturbed. A person can't get inside the room while Tranquility is active. In the room were also a lot of books on the history of the world and different professions.
"Magic brings a lot of options... Just magic based professions are so numerous." Nalser sighed to himself while flipping through the book on professions. "Magic smith, Enchanter, Alchemist, Appraiser, etc. There are also healers and combat oriented magicians, seems like the options in this wolrd are as numerous as the stars in the sky," while putting down the book, he sighed to himself again and started thinking, what weapon he should use from now on.
"Guns are most likely out of the question, the cost to make one and keep it supplied with bullets is going to cost a fortune and will take a lot of time to make, even if I had the exact blueprints to a gun. An army knife combined with martial arts that I've learned will be enough but mostly against human opponents though. If I meet a magical beast that 10 times bigger than me, I won't do much with a little knife or it would be the same as to kick an iron board...." He started thinking to himself, while sitting on the bed with his back against the wall. He gazed outside the window, at the giant moon that illuminated the room.
"I should probably go for a single edged blade. They are generally light and emphasize on speed and accuracy instead of brute force that a sword or an axe would." He made up his mind to pick a single edged blade as his primary weapon. He had also heard from Tobias that there were special techniques in this world called "Sutras". Sutras were primarily used by cold weapon users. They basically had no set stances but focused more on the flow of Mana and it's specialities. Mid to top tier techniques also allowed the person to emit their Mana outside their body in their attacks. Some used Mana to blend in with his surroundings or boost their reaction time and movement speed.
Nalser also thought about using a Rapier but in his opinion it was too light. A rapier excels at short fights with it's thrust but since the blade is too light, it can easily be smacked aside by a heavier blade. He remembered what Old Timer said, when he first taught him martial arts and how to use a knife, " Mastering one weapon is a hundred times better than knowing how to use ten weapons. When picking a weapon that you want to specialize in, it needs to suit your strong point's. For example, if a skinny man, who is fast but not physically strong, picks a axe as his specialized weapon. He nullifies his strengths and puts himself at a disadvantage against someone who uses a weapon he's specialized in."
While the conversation floated in his mind, he started recalling his strengths: speed and precision. That ruled out all the heavy type of weapons. "I should also pick up some throwing knives, in a clutch situation they can save my life." While quietly murmuring to himself, he drifted off to dreamland for the first time in years.

Bloody Hell
Alan Maxwell has one exceptional talent. He can read peoples body language and micro expressions so well that, in many cases it's not hard for him to fake being psychic. When a foreign agency decides that said talent would make him an exceptional spy, events quickly begin to spiral out of control. With enemies on all sides, and friends that will as soon kill each other as his enemies, Alan will have to put his skills to the test in the ultimate game of cat and mouse. ===I came up with this story in response to a question. I once asked someone why there weren't really any Yandere harems. I realize that the answer to that is 'everyone dies' but thats boring so... here we are. A story I came up with explicitly as an excuse to create a harem entirely out of obsessive psychopathic axe murderers. Or in other words - "What happens to Bond girls when they disappear?"As a warning, there are sex scenes. Its tagged. I'll leave an authors note at the top of any chapter that has them if you'd prefer to skip it.
