Book 2 - Chapter 11
In the halls of the Prometheus, several armed guard were escorting the ghost to see the Nathaniel. The Ghost as famed for his name however looked completely normal, who was only wearing simple lightweight cloaking armor. As he traveled the hallways, through the security cameras Nathaniel could see him.
“To slip onto a ship, survive our attack, track a team of marines through a heavy firefight, and then without any of them knowing knock them all out and take control of an entire ship on their own. These Ghosts are pretty amazing aren’t they?” Nathaniel asked
Ira only shook his head, “You don’t understand, Ghosts are trained from a young age. For maybe over ten years they’re trained to become special soldiers. Psionic soldiers used to enhance focus, will, and mental fortitude. The ideals of compassion are completely stripped away.”
Nathaniel looked at the ghost who walked down the hall and even from a monitor, he could see that this ghost was not someone to mess around with.
“Come on lets go check on the others first, I want to make sure they’re all alright from this last excursion.” Nathaniel said to Ira.

Sadia sat next to the medical bed where Leo was resting. They were currently waiting in the medical ward of the Palace. Awaiting the prognosis, Sadia sat there holding Leo’s hand. She looked at him and prayed for him to regain consciousness. It was all she could do until the detailed medical report came back.

As the Dimensional Jump concluded, Guy got out of his ship and prepared for a ship wide broadcast.
‘Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to see a depressing scene. Some of you know what I’m talking about, some don’t, so let me explain it to all of you here and now. The planet we all originated from… Earth. In this dimension has fallen to their own creations of rogue A.I and on this planet… billions have died. All that remain are a few million. They are led by a man named John Connor.

He is the bastion of humanity’s last hope and if we can convince him to join us. Then we will rebuild earth, and turn it into the utopia it deserves to be!” Guy said as the ship roared with applause. As he sat down he ordered the ship to head towards the Sol system. The time to travel was two hours, so there was enough time.
“Eden, how confident are you in taking over Skynet?” Guy asked the ships A.I
-I estimate an 88% chance of success and in the off chance that I should fail. There is a 95 percent chance of me shutting them down remotely.-
“Good. Tactical, whats our situation with our dropships?”
“They’ve been outfitted with speakers and basic data cards on how to contact us since most of the human settlement is now located in underground bunkers. The others are pocket resistances we’ll have to recruit slowly.” The tactical officer reported.
“Alright, after we have this planet secured we will begin sending down materials for them to begin their new lives. As for us we will be heading to some coordinates that should have prime mining spots to send back to earth.” Guy said as they continued on their journey.
Two hours was not a lot of time, seeing how he had two companies of soldiers. That meant he had 500 soldiers to fight an army of psycho A.I robots. Not that it would be too much trouble, just extremely annoying. By the time they arrived in orbit around earth, the scene took their breath away. Craters of desolate land and the fallen ruins of human society.
“Eden, what date is it?” Guy asked as he looked at the desolation.
-The current date is of this universe is July 3rd, 2032-
Guy frowned at the date. July 3rd, 2032… a day before John Connor was killed.
“Okay I want surface scans of all possible human resistance locations. Eden I want you to begin probing Skynet, but don’t hack them yet. I want you to test it a little before you decide to take it out.” Guy ordered as the crew began to work. Today’s quest was that like a movie… save John Conner.
-Prometheus-
Guy and Ira walked down the long corridor, towards the holding cell where the ghost was currently being held. Normally, one wouldn’t treat a guest with such a disrespectful manner, but when the guest is an assassin, you make exceptions. As they neared the holding cell the guard at the door let them in. Inside the room sat the ghost, who hadn’t removed his helmet and armor. The only thing he didn’t have was his gun, but who’s to say he wasn’t still armed.

“Took you long enough.” The ghost said through his special ops mask.
“Sorry, just had to check out my guys, make sure they were still breathing.” Nathaniel said as he pulled a chair out from under the table to sit across from the ghost.
“I see, so what do you need a ghost for?” he asked.
“Well one would be recruitment, we’d like to recruit a ghost admittedly. The other thing is though, we’d like to study your tech and weapons.” Nathaniel told him.
“Thats it?” the ghost skeptically asked.
“Well, to be honest we’d like to study your psionic abilities as well, but -” Nathaniel said but as soon as the words left his mouth, the ghost had jumped up and had pulled a knife from somewhere.
“Wait! Eden detain him!” Nathaniel shouted as he leapt back.
Like that the movements of the ghost was completely sealed off as a force field had already encompassed him. The ghost however was still able to yell and voice his displeasure.
“Let me go or I’ll melt your brain!” he roared as he struggled to get free.
“Calm the hell down, if you had let me finish I’d have told you thats not what we’re mainly after. We’re looking to understand Ghosts, not make more of them. If we could understand you then we can help you.” Nathaniel said quickly to try and
defuse him.
The ghost looked at Nathaniel and laughed. “Help us? How could you possibly help us?” he asked.
“Well for one we could make your stealth tech work better, we could give you personal shields, even improve your psionic abilities to give you more control.” Nathaniel said right off the top of his head.
The ghost listened to what he had to say and all he could respond with was, “Really?”
“Yeah we could possibly do that, hell maybe we could give you an actual home. Not just for you but for all Ghosts who don’t want that life of pain and death.” Nathaniel stated.
Again the ghost just stared at him, with the eerie glow of green night vision goggles.
“Fine but I wanna talk to your boss before I make any promises but for now I’ll shake on it.” The ghost agreed.
“Sure just drop the knife first.” Nathaniel said.
With a chuckle the ghost dropped the knife.
“Drop the field Eden.”
As the stasis field dropped, Nathaniel walked over to the Ghost and they shook hands.

Leo woke up to a new ceiling he’d never seen before. Before he could get worried though he felt the soft hands on top of his. Looking up to his side, he saw the beautiful woman who slept with her head on his bed. Sadia had spent the entire night by his side, not leaving for a moment.
As she felt him stir, she slowly peaked her eyes out. Seeing Leo wake up, she smiled and kissed him.
“Move over.” She told him.
Seeing that she was going to lay next to him, he scooted as much as he could. Gently she slid into the bed, pulling Leo’s arms around her. As they laid there wrapped up in each other’s embrace, they just stayed wrapped up together.
“I was so scared that you’d leave me forever.” She whispered.
Hearing the concern in her trembling voice, Leo had forgotten that she needed him as much as he needed her.
“Sadia, will you marry me?” He asked.
Pulling Leo closer to her body. “Of course you idiot.” She said.
“Great, I just hope Sara doesn’t get too mad at me for not being overly romantic.” Leo chuckled as they waited for the doctor.

Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Hugh Johnson was having a bad day. First there was the stupid long line to get into Comiket, then Truck-kun smashed him into paste, a lolii-goddess who punched him into another world, and finally, a wolf that decided to snack on him. And that was just the last 15 minutes. Now he needs to save Eternasy from the Seven Evil Alternate characters he created while playing Endless Fantasy before they destroy the world. Who knew that your actions in a game would have real-world consequences? Join Hugh as he takes on his first Evil Alt and journeys to the Lair of Daemon Wyrm. Hugh Johnson and the Seven Evil Alts will contain tropes familiar to readers of Japanese isekai light novels - a humorous progression fantasy with slice of life scenes, cute girls, burley men, dungeons, magic, and mayhem. Be warned that the MC is not a clueless weeb who has no idea how women or the world works. Expect this to read like hot garbage, and you will not be disappointed. I never expected to toss it into the Writeathon, but I have poor impulse control, so here we are.

Updates Sunday - Tuesday - Thursday![successful participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Rating: This should align pretty closely with your typical MCU movie, so PG-13 for scenes of fantasy violence. There'll be gore and some swearing but not much beyond that. If that changes, I'll warn you. MC: Shaya is analytical, but begins the story emotional and impulsive. She leans towards rationality and uses this to control her demonic impulses to the best of her abilities. She begins the story as a somewhat capable protagonist, but grows in power steadily through hard work and diligence. Fights: ...I like fight scenes. They’re going to be detailed, but I won’t drown you in description of individual hand movements or footwork. I like fights that can be solved like puzzles by the audience, where creative thinking wins the day using tools you know the protagonist has at their disposal.
