When i first saw the car i thought it was for someone else until ileana told me to get in alissa and her duo of friends were already inside the limo waiting for me.Alissa looked a bit bored and didn't as much as bother to look at me but i wasn't troubled by it the reason ileana was helping me was obviously to gain some favor but i didn't voice that she was obviously thinking that i could build a relationship between me and alissa but i don't know her goal why she would do so...after all i was just an ordinary bodyguard working for the greenwood house she wouldn't gain much from me because i didn't have a high social standing...

-I remember that thank you

I smiled at ileana in the end we were all using each other to get to our own goals her smiling face was in the end nothing but a mask hiding her true colors and i wasn't different in that regard no one really was its how the world works after all.

Ileana nodded and shut the door leaving me,rupert,alissa and that other girl in this big limo which was quiet and calm.

A few seconds later the driver started the motor and we soon were on our way to that person called "caine" i wasn't sure how helpful he would be nor if he was trustworthy but it was my cause after all i was doing this to stay alive.

The inside of the limo was still very quiet alissa wasn't talking and just look out of the window rupert was a bit fidgety and tried to avoid my gaze he probably remembers our very first meeting so i can't blame him.The girl who was a bit shorter then me just stared at me like as if i was not even here i couldn't quiet make out the meaning of her it was as if she didn't care about me but at the same time she was wary towards me as if i was about to jump up and eat her i truly couldn't understand her.She had brown shoulder long hair and also pale skin it seems like all vampires get that trade for "pale skin" her eyes were also brown and i could also see some traces of scars beneath her neck...

-tanya cut it out your making him uncomfortable.

Alisaa said she didn't even turn her head when she said that.The girl called tanya nodded her head and closed her eyes for a second and looked the other way.

-I understand princess

I made a wryly smile and looked out of the window...the limo was going fast without a obstacle but it still felt like it took forever other then that i could see a lot of buildings flashing by and pedestrians walking by the street there was nothing really special about it but it was a bit fascinating to see so many different humans going by living their lives and i was one of them i guess ?

With that thought i was a bit dazed by the scenery until alissa suddenly spoke up.

-I heard you broken ruperts arms and legs when you first met him

I froze for a second...yeah that was not really the best conversation started was it ?

I looked at rupert for a second he seemed a bit panicked when alissa mentioned it and tried to look out of the window to avoid the stares he was getting from both me and tanya.I looked back at alissa who was now staring at me her face as usual held no emotions to them she looked like a blank paper to me and her almost normal heart beat also reminded me that she wasn't a normal vampire either no she was a pure blood vampire even leraje thought that this girl was a massive threat in the future and offered to kill her but i refused because for now she was nothing but a normal teenager like all of us.

-Yeah we had our disputes when we first met but i think there aren't any now i believe

I smiled and i could feel my smile cracking for a bit but i didn't mind.

Alissa just rolled her eyes obviously annoyed but i didn't let that rude gesture get to me.

-Do you know who this caine is ?

I asked a bit curious if i had to be honest.

-He is a witch doctor so he says.But i know him better as an assassin an heavy drinker and womanizer he lives in the outskirts of the city near the wild life he owns a massive mansions where he usually receives his clients my grandmother once took one of his services...

I could see her face contour disgust when she said that...i better not ask what "kind" of services her grandmother took.I just sighed and looked at alissa and asked her.

-If he really specializes in assassinations then how can he help me ?

Alissa thought for a bit and said.

-I don't know i only saw him work ones or twice but he also takes bodyguard requests and bounty hunting requests i never really saw him fail no wait he has been mistaken a lot of times but he never really "failed" a request before he is very well known in this city and a lot of people come to him for a request he prefers assassinations but takes on other requests if he feels like it other then that i know that the fey society is very wary of him for some reason but i never really heard anything concerning his background but it is said he has ties with the current demon lord of this city

Demon lord ?Is he the head or something ?

-Are you talking about abrax ?

I asked a bit confused.Alissa made a smug smile for a bit and said.

-He is only a minion just a outer appearance for what the demons really want to show their true leader is someone who operates in their fort and never goes out

That was really one piece of helpful information...i wonder what kind of ties does that caine have with them ?I pondered while looking down and as i did so i could feel someone looking at me and to my surprise alissa didn't seem to be finished.

-I want to ask you one thing how did you get into the office last time?

I narrowed my eyes for a bit and looked at alissa properly i could pick up signs of confusion and eagerness in her gaze.I giggled for a moment which threw her off for a bit and said.

-Don't you know how i did it ? I just walked through it,it was that easy.

She made a skeptical face for a bit and sighed at the end and didn't say anything she probably knows that i was talking the truth i still remember that stabbing pain i got on my wrist when i past her on some points leraje was right she was really dangerous and i really wouldn't like to show my back to her.

The other 2 people just kept quiet tanya thou seemed like she wanted to beat me half-dead through her aura it wasn't killing intent no it was just plain anger it seemed.

As i was about to say another the car suddenly stopped so i looked outside the window for a second and noticed we were close to a forest there was also a paved path leading to multiple buildings.Mansions i believe but something was odd about this scenery...a lot of things were messed up the path was also cracked here and there the greenery was also destroyed it looked like chaos.

Alissa also looked at it intently she also seemed a bit surprised for some reason...

-Is this how it usually looks like ?

I said a bit jokingly..

-No and we gonna find out what happened

She opened the door and started walking outside her two bodyguards followed suit...i really don't think this is a good idea.

Regardless i stepped outside the limo and told the driver to go back and tell ileana about this.The driver seemed confused for a second and looked outside a bit wide eyed and quickly drove off leaving us in this ravaged land.

As the driver left i sighed once again and summoned the black dragon hilt holding it to my right hand ready to use the other 3 also seemed to have noticed me summoning my weapon but didn't say anything.

The 4 of us quickly started to move down the paved path looking around the street it was truly as if an army marched through these streets wreaking havoc and chaos.The houses weren't unscattered either missing some parts of their walls,doors,windows and even roofs i could also see some parts of the insides of the houses which were broken too...what happened here ?

-Look over there

Alissa pointed at one of the doors which was painted red......no that was not paint...i could even smell it from here it was blood.I could not see any corpse or anyone indicated it was their blood making me even more confused....was it in the house ?

I gripped the hilt stronger and looked around a bit more vigilante the blood was fresh meaning this happened not all too long ago.

I looked at alissa who also turned to me she had a stubborn gaze that said she refused to leave this place...

-(Crash)

Everyone looked to the left a bit startled by the sound it seemed like some pieces of the floor fell down and crashed but no there was more to it...i could hear the sound of faint crunching and slight movement...someone was there.

I readied my hilt about to push the button.

Alissa and the others also noticed and alissa made a hand gesture towards the place tanya just nodded and started to advance forward i really wanted to say this was a bad idea but they were already doing it so i had no other choice but to follow them.

As we neared the place the sound got louder and louder and soon we reached a pile of rubble hiding behind it from this distance we could hear a slight disgusting squishy sound.We were actually standing in the backyard of a house...

No one really dared to look at what was behind the rubble but alissa soon nudged rupert with her elbow and told him to take a look.

-why me....

He whispered i could see he was really scared witless...poor guy.

-because i am telling you to

Alissa countered and while they were arguing me and tanya looked at each other for a second and it seems like we had the same idea...

I gestured with my arms and said.

-Ladies first

I whispered i could hear her making a faint snorting sound and like that we looked at what was there...

First of all i gonna tell you what kind of place this backyard we were in was.It was really green and had a couple birch trees here and there with healthy green grass growing and even a small pond...but in the middle of the backyard the grass started to have a weird coloration..it was turning into a disgusting purple like strands the sound was also getting more clearer instead of crunching it was munching the smell of iron was in the air with a really sour aroma...it was blood no doubt and when i saw from what it came i almost made a sound out of pure disgust.

-(crunch munch crunch)

There was something...its back was turned to us and the color was pink or white it didn't have hair when i saw it the size was very big almost reaching 3 meters but it was currently crooked on place looking a bit smaller feasting on its meal disgustingly.Its arms were long and sturdy but looked like a branch its hands were big and i could see long and sharp talons attached to it cutting pieces off the corpse and then stabbing it putting it into its mouth even the bones were devoured in a crunching noise it almost made me want to puke but i held my disgust in place...the body figure looked disfigured and ugly its legs were also as long as its arms and its feet big and wide with ugly purple nails to it.

-Its a werewolf..

Tanya said with surprise...wait a minute..

-Don't werewolves have hair ?

I said with a bit of confusion this guy right here was bald having not a single strand of hair on his body but i could see he was wearing some ripped jeans covering his nether regions if i ever would have saw him without those i swear i would have puked my stomach inside out...

Tanya nodded at my question but it seemed like she didn't have any way to explain why it didn't have hair.

I was about to say something to the others until suddenly..

(BANG)

A shot it sounded like a gun shot...it came from the right not too far away maybe 2 houses away maybe thats caine ?

This was a chance...maybe i could find some answers i needed them very badly and so i looked at monster again...and sighed.

-HEY YOU SHIT FACE

I shouted at it.

-what are you doing you fucker

I walked out of the pile of rubble in the open tanya was panicked like the rest and wanted to drag me back but she stopped and just stayed at her place still hiding they weren't going to help me but i didn't mind.

The hairless werewolf turned its body to show its ugly face to me it looked like a skull covered in skin the eyes were pitch black and its mouth and chest were covered in guts and blood...i took a moment to glance at the corpse to see a woman and its child ripped into pieces i was a bit astound by the bloody image and shivered a bit i felt regret for them but nothing else their luck wasn't good is all i could say.

The beast looked at me with its lifeless black eyes and raised its head to the air and howled.

-AHOOOOOOO

With that howl another round of howling resounded throughout the area i realized what he was doing so i quickly slowed time and activated the black hilt and like last time a golden beam came to life as i approached the monster and with a quick slash through the neck i walked back to my original spot and started time normally again.

-...

It wasn't howling anymore as it stood in place frozen but time was still going and i knew what was happening as i counted down.

-7...6...5..4..3.2..1..

(Stsssss)

With a spurting sound its neck showed a cut the time delay was still on taking effect after 7 seconds but it seems like its nerve system was already shut down when i cut it huh ?

With a thud sound i realized its head fell down onto the ground red blood was coming out of its open neck like a waterfall as its body collapsed.

I turned my head to the place where the shot came from with the black hilt in hand i started going to that direction i could hear the sound of marching and running coming to this place..

-One down more to go

I muttered nothing was going to stop me.
