《Reincarnation》Chapter 4

-Ria POV-
Ria was promoted to rank E at the graduation ceremony for the elementary class. She was good with a sword but she wasn’t good enough to be a D ranker. The school however didn’t know that Ria was an extremely capable magic user. During the 5 years she secretly practiced her magic and if judged by school standard she would at the very least be a B ranker. Since they had no way of knowing about it she was judged based on her melee skills which was given a E rank. The ceremony wasn’t that big of an issue to the demibeast of the school since unlike the huge party held by the other race the demibeast will just stay in their dormitory for the duration of the ceremony
Ria didn’t feel unhappy about not being allowed to go since her classmates had naturally started to get influenced by their seniors since they tried to stay as far away as possible from her. She was by no means ugly as a matter of fact she might be the prettiest girl in the school but the simple fact that she was a demibeast made her classmates look at her with disgust. She knew it was bound to happen sooner or later so she felt no sadness at how she was treated.
The day after the ceremony all the students who made it to rank E lined up in a row in front of a instructor for rank E students. They were all dressed with the school uniform meant for the rank E students. The instructor handed a device to the students one by one. The device is worn on the wrist. The function of the device was to allow anyone you meet to know your rank. During missions it could be used to gain the trust of the people involved. Since Ria was a demibeast the device she got was in the form of a collar. The instructor used some kind of device to unlock the collar already on her neck and replaced it with the Rank E collar that had some slight difference to her old one. It wasn’t just her of course all demibeast in the school had a collar to show their ranking. Collars for demibeast with a rank no longer prevented them for exiting the school instead it allowed the school to know where they are at all times to prevent them from running away.

The next thing handed out was the low-grade weapons. They were all custom made for the weapon the student in question specializes in. For Ria it was a claymore type weapon. Ria took the weapon handed to here and observed it for a while. The weapon without any mana channeled into it looked like a claymore missing a blade. She attached the weapon onto the belt which the new uniform had built in. The last item given to us was something a small device with a screen on it.
-Intructor POV-
The device I just handed to you will be used to assign missions. The device will show you what mission you are given as well as the location. As a ranker you will no longer be taking any classes but you can continue using our facilities to hone your skills. This time next year the promotion exam will be held which will give you the chance to reach the next rank. That will be all you are dismissed.
-Ria POV-
The first thing she decided to do was to take a walk in the forest near the school. For the 5 years she has been here the only thing she could do was look at the forest from the distance. She has finally gained the rights to walk outside of school. The school was built in the middle of nowhere something she found weird but appreciate since she can see the beauty of nature everyday.
It didn’t take long for her to reach the forest since it wasn’t that far.She entered the forest walking quite deep into it enjoying the beautiful view nature had to offer, a view she had once enjoyed every day with her friends. When she still had friends. She could feel her eyes tearing up a little as she remembered all the good times she had shared with her friends she know she will never meet again.
“Why are you crying?”
She was shocked since she didn’t sense anyone around her. She slowly looked around trying to find out the source of the mysterious noise. It didn’t remain a mystery for that long since a kid who looked around her age appeared out of nowhere.

“Who are you…….what are you?” Ria slowly said after looking at the boy for a while. He didn’t looked anything like the 6 races. He had crimson hair and his eyes were red in colour. He also had two small horns protruding out of his forehead. His teeth were as sharp as hers but he was obviously not a demibeast.
“I’m a demon” he said as his faced broke into a smile.
Ria was obviously confused since it was a word she was unfamiliar with since she has always learned that the world had only 6 races and right now in front of her was a 7th race???
“hahaha”he cheerfully laughed. “ Its not really surprising you have never heard of demons before. My race was chased away into a placed called the underworld a long time ago. It was all because my ancestors tried to conquer the land but they obviously failed miserably and they even made their descendants suffer cause of it.” he said with a frown forming on his face.
“Where is the underworld??” Ria was interested in the prospects of a place far away from the humans , elves and everything she has come to hate.
“Its in a different dimension. You need to go through a portal to travel there.”
“Can I go there?” Ria was getting excited at the mere thought of getting away from her current life.
“Sorry you can’t go there. The 6 races here body contains the holy mana. My race has the demonic mana in our body. Only things with the mana of darkness can enter the underworld. Daema has dark mana as well.”
“Demonic mana…..Holy mana?”
“Our race discovered that there was a distinct difference between the mana we were born with and the mana the other races were born with. We called ours demonic mana and the other kind holy mana. The other races don’t know about this so it isn’t surprising you don’t”
“Who chased your race away?”
“It was a single human. He was extremely powerful according to the historical books I have read.”
“Humans are evil” she slowly said.
“ That’s why one day I will finish what my ancestors started.” he said with a smile.
“Whats your name? mine is Sera”
“I’m called Dalek.”
The small device attached onto her belt suddenly started ringing. She took the device and saw she had been assign a mission.
“Will you be here again?” she asked a little reluctant to split with her first friend in years.
“Yep you can find me here from time to time” He said with a smile.
She left the forest feeling happy for the first time in years. She was given a relatively simple mission. It was to eliminate a rabbit daema that was spotted near the school gates. It didn’t take long for her to find the rabbit daemon.
She took out her weapon and poured her mana into it creating a blade made out of her mana. She noticed the blade made from her mana had 2 colours. Blue and Black. Normal mana blades she has seen are always only blue in colour. She decided to not overthink things and proceeded to destroy the rabbit daema easily.
After her mission was completed she decided to see if Dalek was still in the place they met earlier. She deactivated her weapon and ran back into the forest. Unfortunetly the place was quiet without a trace of life to be seen.
“I guess he went back” she said to herself as she turned around to go back to the school she have learned to hate.

In this world the good guy doesn't beat the villain, in fact there isn't even good or bad. In this world there are only two beings, the all-encompassing darkness and a spark of flame that keeps to itself. ________________________________________ Hello there! Now some warnings; I am new to this, I don't have much experience so I'm trying to get some by writing this. So I don't stress myself out this will be a relatively short story but I don't know. Also this is sort of the beginning of my world, if this works out and I decide to write more I would love to keep it in this world. My grammar isn't perfect, if anything it's one of the things i struggle with. I don't have a release schedule, but I usualllt release as soon as i'm done with a chapter. Also I would really appreciate it if you can point out my mistakes, I can't learn if i don't know what i'm doing wrong.
