Chapter 5
-Dalek POV-
Seeing the same scenery of lava and huge mountains everyday was dull. He loved seeing the beautiful scenery from the otherworld but the demons were reluctant to go there. Most of the demons has grown cowardly. None dared to attempt to go to the other dimension. Dalek however found an item capable of creating a portal to the otherworld, ever since he found it he will go to the otherworld to enjoy the forest where the portal will always bring him to everytime he used it.
He went to the forest as he would on a normal day. For the first time that day he finally saw a inhabitant of the overworld. He was prepared to kill her until he saw her crying silently as she continued walking.
“Why is she crying?” he thought to himself as he continued to look at her. She had very long hair with a streak of silver on it. Her eyes were mismatched with one being gold in color and the other blue. She had animals ears and a bushy tail.
“Wow she is beautiful.” he thought to himself.
Without thinking things through he said “ Why are you crying?”
She looked shocked to her a voice and even more shocked when he showed himself. He wasn’t surprised since its been a really long time since the demon has been banished. After some conversation with her he was delighted she hated humans similar to how he hated them. At the very least he didn’t think killing her would be necessary since the main aim of his goal is to take revenge on the humans.
She wanted to go to the underworld but it was dangerous to go there without demonic mana so he told her she can’t go. He didn’t want to endanger her after all. Eventually she had to leave and he was happy she wanted to see him again. After she had left he went back to the underworld happy with his encounter with her.
-Ria POV-
She was curious about her mana and decided to test something out. Someone who specializes in magic will have to learn how to release their mana before attempting to cast any spells. She knows this by observing the magic lessons during her time here. Since she was capable of controlling elements at ease she never bothered with this step and just practice controlling the elements. A weapon didn’t require the knowledge of how to release mana either since after pulling the trigger the weapon has a special device in it capable of extracting the mana so she didn’t see the need in knowing how to.

She went to the practice room. All the practice rooms were made to be private to prevent any accidental accidents injuring on other students who might be nearby. The service was provided to all the students so even the demibeast were allowed to use it.
In the room she started to try to release her mana in its pure form. It didn’t take that long given the fact she was extremely talented in magic. The mana that took form could only be described as weird. She had seen a lot of mana and they usually took the form of some kind of blue energy. Her mana that was released took the form of a orb with the colour blue and black swirling around inside it. No matter how many times she tried her mana always ended up looking the same ,a swirling ball of energy with both colours constantly swirling inside the energy.
-Several weeks later-
She has searched every book she could find that explains about mana yet she couldn’t find a single book explaining how a mana could turn out like hers. She wanted to ask Dalek but she can’t find him anymore despite going to the forest everyday.
Eventually the device started ringing for the first time since the mission to kill the rabbit daema.
She checked the device and apparently the quest this time required her to go in a team of 3 to check a town that reported seeing several Rank E daema. The device also stated the use of the teleportation device will be necessary in this mission.
In the school there was a device capable of teleporting the students to teleportation points built by the school at various areas. There was a teleportation point in the town in question so it will be easy to go there.
The thing that caught her eye is in group of 3. She wasn’t looking forward to doing a mission with people who hated her race with a passion. Nevertheless she was forced to do whatever mission she was given so she walked towards the teleportation point in the school. In front of the room she met the people she was gonna be going with. One of them was a elf and the other was a human. They were both male and they both looked upset when they found out their partner in this mission would be a demibeast.
“You will be fighting in the front lines mutt since both of us are long range type.” the elf told her knowing full well all demibeasts are close combat types.
Ria keep silent and just followed them into the teleportation point. It was the first time she had ever used one so she wasn’t sure what to do. Luckily the elf seems to know how to operate it as he typed something into a keyboard which caused the teleporter to activate.

“I have typed the coordinates we should be there in a few seconds” he said as he stood there impatiently waiting for the thing to start.
A bright beam of light shot down from the ceiling above them blinding her for a short time. When she opened her eyes she looked around and noticed that she was still in the same room as she was in previously. It became clear to her that she wasn’t when the elf opened the door revealing the scenery outside. They left the room with the door closing behind them.
She looked around the town admiring the buildings around her. It was the first time she has ever seen a city not including the time she had in the jail cell of that fairy city. The elf and human seemed unimpressed as they continued to walk towards the border of the town. The town wasn’t that big since it didn’t take long for them to reach the exit. The guards stepped out of the way after seeing their uniforms.
The daemas should be several kilometers away from the town. This information turned out inaccurate since the 3 daemas were spotted after walking for about a kilometer. The worst part was that the daemas looked like dogs the size of a horse. They had flames coming out its feet. Every time itheyexhales flames come out of their mouth.
“What the heck they are at least rank C .” the elf said in dismay.
“Who was the idiot that reported rank E.” the human said looking at them with fear in his eye. A second later he was running back to town.
“Mutt go fight against them and give us time to flee. “ the elf said as he was running back to the town joining the human.
She wasn’t surprised at the fact they ditched her.
“They are probably gonna report that I died in combat against the daemas” she thought to herself.
Since no one was around and she was was well aware that she was too weak to fight them with only her sword she decided to try her magic in real combat for the first time. The daemas were already charging towards her provoked by the loud sounds caused by her so called teammates for this mission running away.
She created a wall of earth in front of her to block the one of the daema. The other 2 attacked from her left and right. She easily stopped them by creating a blast of air strong enough to push them backwards. She quickly took out her weapon and pulled the trigger to create her mana blade. Compressing the air at her feet and releasing it at one shot she propelled herself forward towards the daema at her left killing it instantly with her claymore thanks to the additional force provided by her speed in which she was moving.
The daema from the middle blasted fire from its mouth towards her direction. She easily controlled the fire the daema created and pushed it all back into its mouth. The daema died from its own flames. The last one she easily killed by removing all the air around the daema. She could only do it to a small area so she was unable to use it when there were 3 of them but since there was only one left she could safely use it. The flames from its body disappeared due to the absence of oxygen. Needless to say it eventually died. After confirming they were all dead by cutting out their head she slowly walked back to town. At the entrance of the town she saw the elf and the human looking worried. When they saw her they looked happy and they immediately ran towards her.
“Hey mutt we never ran away got it.” The elf said to her
“Yeah we didn’t both me and Rick killed those 3 daemas without your help.”The human added in.
“DO you understand!!” they said in unison
“yes I understand” she softly replied to them.
Eventually happy that she was so easy to convince they started to walk back to the teleporter talking.
“Lucky us nearly though we were gonna get demoted to F class for running.”the elf said
“Yeah I bet they were really weak anyways. We could have easily killed all 3 of them.” The human added in.
Ria followed them back to the teleporter thinking that its fine if they take all the credit since she doesn’t intend to let the school know how powerful her magic is.She wanted to help the humans as little as possible knowing she was strong would mean getting sent to more missions so she was fine with the school thinking it was the elf and the human who killed the daemas
-The next day-
The elf and human got promoted to D rank.

The Grey Realm, an Erebus Story.
Written by: Staugroan and The Inklets. Edited by: Claudia Adams. In the beginning there was a god, who watched over and made one world his own. Soon after the god grew restless, but happened to stumble on a small world filled with life. This world was named Erebus by its peoples; humanity. The god was so fascinated with this new world that he started to copy it back home, creating oceans, forests, deserts, and so forth. Then the god created life and eventually his favored creations who would be immortals and be the better of mankind in every way-the elves. So often the god had traveled to Erebus that the two worlds became linked by magic and their inhabitants could cross at will. Relations between the races flourished, and a great empire was born in the Grey Realm, home of the elves. But the god once again grew restless, and set loose great beasts that stood at the top of any food chain, the apex. At first the elves met the challenge and fought them head on. But mankind was not so lucky, they died in droves to push back even a single apex. Something had to be done. Elves and man worked together to begin sealing off the worlds to protect mankind, to limit the ways in and out to better fight the apex off and keep their fellows safe. The ritual had adverse effects the likes of which neither the elves nor man could predict; the sealing of the worlds started slow, but the magic had never been done before, and in their ignorance it spread to completely cut the two worlds off from one another. It ejected the apex, and other magical being back into the Grey Realm, saving Erebus. At first the elves were content, they would find a way back once the apex were dead and gone. But the seal had done more than keep Erebus locked away. The powersource of the seal was magic itself, from both worlds, and it consumed it all greedily. The elves, weakened without their magic, crumbled into ruin, and the apex were free to hunt the other races of the Grey Realm. Two-thousand years later a strange phenomena is occurring and magic is slowly returning to the Grey Realm, and tears open that allow passage to Erebus. Thu'lain and a few elves must make the journey to fallen kingdom of the elves Anosora, in the hopes of reclaiming what was once theirs. They must face their nemesis the apex, and survive not only the species that have turned against them, but a terrible being left behind by the god to kill even the apex. Uch'l'thein, the faceless terror.
