《Rain Revert》Chapter 30: [ Rain's Magic Test ]

After a few hours of resting, with a layer of thin fog suddenly appearing, the group had already gotten ready for the path ahead.
Zarda was still a bit weak so she was being carried by the other Lamias on a small platform that almost looked like a sedan chair in Ancient China – Though only a chair without roofs or walls.
Rain pretended as if what happened between him and Zarda didn’t happen at all and continued chatting with her like he did before. Zarda did the same; however, sometimes she would act and smile ambiguously causing Lafetti to be extremely annoyed.
As for Rain, he just turned and whistled, pretending not to see it.
Along the way back, the group encountered many monsters, however, they were killed easily.
Apart from that, nothing really happened that is worth mentioning.
After a long time of traveling, the group finally arrived at the tribe. They were greeted by all the lamias waiting for them, even Starl and the others excitedly ran out towards Rain, welcoming his return.
At first, Rain wanted to rest for a bit and then go to Zarda to check his Magic Power and Affinity.
He was really excited and wanted to use magic, after all, there was no magic back in Earth, and everyone had dreamed even in once in their worthless – Ah, sorry, slipped of tongue, in their happy life to be able to use magic and be like, ‘Dormammu, I've come to bargain!’ then ‘woosh!!’ so epic…
However, as soon as he turned around to go home to Lafetti’s house, suddenly,
“Big brother… can, can we play again…?” Starl suddenly asks timidly.
The girl bit her lips nervously, begging. She was concerned that Rain wouldn’t agree.
Of course, Rain doesn’t have a heart of ice.

While smiling bitterly, he grabbed Starl’s waist and made her sit on his arms. “What does little Starl want to play?”
With Rain’s answer, Starl and the others immediately smiled in utter happiness. The other kids immediately encircled him, took his hands and dragged him away.
Starl’s mother; Vakni couldn’t help but smile happily at her daughter’s cheerful laughter and Rain’s friendly and amiable attitude. It seems like her Chief’s decision to let Rain stay peacefully in the tribe, completely unlike how the men were treated when they had to kidnap some before, was the right one.
Rain, was better or worse, a real member of their tribe.
Although he was a human, in the eyes of the entire tribe he was their one and only treasure… just look at the children’s laughter, no human or beings can make their dull, boring and dreary tribe to have some colors again, especially in this isolated hell-like place.
Many Lamias shared the same thought as Vakni as they watched Rain and the children play happily, without a care of the world.
Zarda see Rain off with a satisfied smile – Though, completely unlike before, a tinge of affection could be seen flashing in her eyes.
Who knows when or how it began… even Zarda herself didn’t anticipate nor expected such feelings.
Probably even now, she hadn’t realized it herself.
Hide and seek, freeze tag, chain tag, storytelling, Rain played with the Lamia Children… after exhausted, Rain bid the children farewell and went back to Laffeti’s house.
Surprisingly, he found Lafetti sleeping soundly at the nest or lair whatever it was called…
She must have been exhausted or tired from the trip…
Smiling gently, Rain entered and lied beside her, pulling her body towards him.
Lafetti opened her eyes and saw Rain. Without saying anything she circled her hands around his neck and her tail moved coiling herself on him.

This was her favorite sleeping posture. In this, she can feel Rain’s warmth and existence with her entire body – she loved this feeling so much.
She burrowed her face on Allen’s neck, sniffing his scent and continued sleeping.
... ...
... ...
Rain look at the grey colored stone on his hand.
It was a pale grey stone, like ashes were gathered together, squeezed tightly and molded into this shape. Unlike other stones he had seen before, the texture was soft and seemed to be malleable.
“So this is the Magic Stone?” Rain asked curiously.
Zarda nodded. “That’s right. Just let your mana flow towards that stone and your magic power and affinity will be tested…”
“Ahm, how will you do that?” Rain scratches the back of his head, embarrassed.
He didn’t know how to start. What do you mean by flow your mana? He can’t even feel anything…
Zarda pondered for a moment before finally saying, “…Let’s see, let’s do it like this, just hold it and closed your eyes while thinking of a stream or a river inside your mind and the stone will do the rest… that simple…”
Rain frowned but he didn’t ask anymore and did what he was told. After closing his eyes, Rain imagined a river, a flowing river he had seen on television.
The image was vivid and clear.
Zarda expected for Rain to be able to do it after half an hour or so, that was the most conservative estimate so she waited in the side patiently.
However, her expectation actually fell short as after a few breathes since Rain closed his eyes, the stone started shining.
The color projected from the stone was pale blue…
Water Affinity? Zarda was perplexed, after all, Water affinity was always shown a blue color but Rain was a pale blue instead. As Zarda was confused suddenly, the Magic Stone started releasing bluish electric sparks around it.
“Lightning Affinity!!?” Drova exclaimed.
But Stagna shook her head, “That can’t be possible. From what we know, Lightning Affinity shows yellow color but he is pale blue… like water, just what is going on?”
Zarda wasn’t the only one in the place but also Drova, Stagna, and Lafetti was watching Ran’s Magic Test and they couldn’t help but show some confusion. Even Lafetti couldn’t help but frown.
Weird...
Just what is going on?
The stone was getting brighter and brighter, shining on Rain’s tender yet slightly matured face, and then small black spots began appearing around the Magic Stone.
Judging from the color of the Magic Stone; Blue, Rain seemed to have been already reaching the E rank in terms of Mana Quantity! And this fact shocked Zarda and the others.
It should be Brown. All creatures who are not mages should start at Brown color means that their Mana quantity is at the beginner level. Violet for G, Indigo for F, Blue for E, Cyan for D, Green for C, Yellow for B, Orange for A and lastly, the highest would be Red for S ranked level.
Rain was certainly at a Beginner level since this kind of Magic Stone can only be used for Lv1 people.
That should be normal… Zarda thought inwardly.
If Rain did lose his memories and he had really come from a noble family, Rain should have already been tested by his family before.
But still, was he originally a mage?

Keter
They called him "Keter"; The Top-Most; The Crown. An unsurpassable, unstoppable, unkillable soldier. Etched with a twisted set of morals and studded by an impossible drive for lachesism, Keter terrorized the world for ages. But time, you see, is a most patient thing. As sure as it gives, so does it take. Even the Crown saw the eternal spindle drawing on him. He blinked, for the last time, and saw a world anew. Synopsis. So, basically, I’ve gotten tired of all these stale mcs that keep popping up left right and center. Either they are painstakingly good-natured or horribly written ‘evil’ characters. So, here’s my take on the concept of a Villain. Someone ruthless, cunning, and not shy of seeking darker means to an end. Hell, as long as it’s effective, he’ll prefer the blacker side of business. The new world will be, like many others, one in a medieval-type setting with traces of magic and the like; though I hope to make better use of this than most others who simply steal ideas from classical novels or other sources.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.
