《Rain Revert》Chapter 46: [ Werebats ]

Doram, Celia, and Garas immediately pulled out their swords.
“Stop!” Rain spoke and the Werebats immediately shut up. From this moment, Rain’s words were the most influential among the Werebats, after all, he was the only one who can save them from the rampaging enraged Lamias.
Rain then turned his head and looked towards the Princess who was looking at him similarly with a complicated expression. Her expression seems to be asking him what’s going on.
Rain flashed a boyish grin. “The one I called family are monsters,”
Princess Leticia had expected this the moment she saw the Werebats action at Rain and only frowned but the others were startled and confused. Human and the monster tribes were always at war. The moment they saw each other, they will immediately start killing until one side survive.
This war had already gone for over a thousand year ago. The records left said that due to the monster tribe siding with the demons in the Holy War a long time ago, the relationship between the monster and human race deteriorated and become that of enemies. With the addition of those mindless monsters that prey for flesh, even those humanoid monsters with sentient were hated and despised and had become humanity’s enemies!
A human treating monsters as a family was really a shock to them – and worst of all, it was a noble who did that!!
“Are they the one you are talking about?” Princess Leticia pointed at the Werebats. Is that reason why they were so protective when they save him before?
But Rain shook his head. “No, they are not the one. In fact, you really saved me from their hands before. They tried abducting me at that time…”
“No! Human, you misunderstand! No! We didn’t do it!” The Werebats immediately shook their heads in denial. They looked like children trying to deny their mistakes.
“Yeah right.” Rain snorted. “You attack us and kidnapped me… if that is not called abducting then what was it?” His eyes seemed to carry a mischievous glint as he glared at them angrily.

“… …”
“I’m guessing, Lafetti and the others was furious as of this moment to the point of exploding~” Rain smirked.
The Werebats immediately paled and their bodies trembled. What Rain said was right. Led by Lafetti and Zarda, they rushed towards their lair and started a massacre. Most of their kinsmen were slaughtered with no burial grounds. Even now, their elders and Queen were held hostage in exchange for Rain.
“Then, who do you mean by family… Aquarian?”
Rain turned his head. This time, he wasn’t as weak-willed as before because Rain knows that with the Werebats around, even if he somehow managed to anger the princess, they wouldn’t be able to hurt him. Rain smiled confidently, “Lamias, or should the humans call them, Lamians… they are my current family,”
“… …”

... ...
A huge group of people was walking through the quiet forest. There were numerous pairs of alert eyes that continued to scan the dark hidden spots of the surrounding forest while hands tightly gripped the weapons at various waists, ready to handle any sudden occurrences.
As veteran warriors and knights that had survived many precarious situations for many years, even though some of them were cooperating with each other for the first time, they were still able to maintain a basic understanding with each other.
When they briefly exchanged glances, they could recognize the signs of both safety and danger from the other party’s eyes. Truly, one of the best warriors in the kingdom, cream of the crop!
Rain and the princess made an agreement. He would be allowed to return to the lair and his existence would be kept hidden in the world, especially from the Aquarian Clan as Rain felt that if they know of his existence, everything would become a mess.
Although reluctant, the princess agreed in a condition that Rain would help the group venture the Lair since it seems like with Rain, venturing the Lair would be a cinch.
Rain ordered the Werebats to return to their Lair and tell the Lafetti and the others to stop their killing spree as he will be coming back now. Although he can fly back with the help of the Werebats but he can’t leave the Princess group.

... ...
At the top of a tree’s branch, Rain was watching the battle occurring on the ground. He chooses this place because this was one of the places that could let him watch the battle safely and clearly.
“A pack of flame hounds? As expected of the Monster Lair located at the Boundary of the Monster Plain!” One of the best-looking knights murmured in bitterness.
Well, as expected of Desolate Plain, being called one of Death Areas, the Cave of Despair, and the entrance to the Desolate Plain, a place brutal enough that even the strongest human powerhouse can’t last for a year.
Monsters here are extremely high level!
Flame Hounds, considered as rank 4 monster hounds having the ability to breathe fire and [ Inferno Coat ] enables them to coat themselves with a blazing fur. These monsters don’t only have amazing abilities but also attack in a group making them a very dangerous monster to encounter!
“Water Wave!”
“Water Slicer!”
“Tidal Wave!!”
One after another, magicians launch their magic especially water type attributes was being fired one after another!
“Holy Light, guide us to victory and lead us to a triumph, Blessing of the Courageous Knights!” There seems to be paladins and priests too, giving the group of combatants blessings and buffs.
They’re not bad.
The group’s teamwork was emphatic.
Well, what a very nice world. I almost thought I was in some virtual reality game… Rain mused as he watched the battle with interested eyes.
However, if I’m really in some games, what class would I be? Now that was the most difficult question. Assassin? He could be but with his magic being all too rounded, it’s not quite there.
He could be a warrior as he was trained by the Lamias in several kinds of weapons like; swords, spear, bow, staff and et cetera.
Magician, with his amazing magic, he could be one. As of now, he can even use instant magic of water, wind, and fire. Fortunately, he wasn’t slacking on his science class~
Hunter or an Archer as he was quite proficient in bows. But that still not it.
Priest? Well, he doesn’t have any healing ability yet so that is not one of the options for now.
But probably if he eats one of those good-looking priests that almost seems like a pizza, he could acquire one – but that was a very disturbing idea! Let’s not do that or else he might certainly stop being a human!
So he could probably be a magic knight or a ranger – an all rounding type class~
As Rain was watching the battle with a face full of interest, princess Leticia with the usual group and some added members; Doram, Garas, the twin Geminin sisters and some royal guards were also standing not far away from the battleground. And the location they choose to retreat was actually under the tree Rain was at.
Although the enemies are quite dangerous monsters but the Princess was certain it wouldn’t threaten the warriors and knights she brought. Thus, she and the others retreated and just watched the others fighting.
Though, her attention was mostly concentrated to Rain, as she found Rain very mysterious.
What is the trip of this man?
Although Aquarians are eccentric but they are not as eccentric as this man! Rain was certainly an abyss she can’t completely understand!
Then she saw him clapping his hands, like a small kid being amazed. He looks extremely at ease as if watching a hero show. The Princess found herself smiling for some reason. She shook her head.
Rumbling!
The monsters kept releasing flames that the field’s temperature kept on raising. It was extremely hot! They could feel the heat waves coming one after another. Even just staying there made their sweat dry and vaporized.
[ Master, are you really not going to the Aquarian Clan? They seem to be quite connected with the master… ] As Allen was watching the battle, Sylphy suddenly muttered.
