V2 Chapter 7
“You dare attack my son….!!!? Know your place you maggot!!”
An angry voice once again appeared. It was evident that the owner of the voice was truly furious.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
And then countless ice spears rushed out instantly. They ripped through the air and descended down towards the pitiful Cyclops who couldn’t scream yet before his body was pierced by almost a hundred Ice spikes.
Under the dumbfounded and terrified gazes of every person present, the hard to beat monster Cyclops, transformed into a porcupine due to the Ice Spikes that had pierced its body. With a ‘thud’ the Cyclops massive body started to fall to the ground.
Awwoooohhh!!
An abnormally powerful magic power rushed out together with the howl and a formidable oppressive pressure spread throughout the region.
Boom!
The blizzard directly exploded, and snow descended down from the sky.
Shisha and Runa’s body couldn’t help but tremble as they stared at the slowly freezing Cyclops as well as the forest that had slowly transformed into a winter land. Such power, such pressure…
Just what had they disturbed…?
Shisha who was always expressionless and cold, at this moment started to feel regret in coming into this place. Did they come in a bad time…?
“Miss Shisha, I apologize but we need to leave now.”
The tall and handsome man who was the leader of the Mercenary called, [ Blood Blade ] muttered coldly while his back faced Shisha and Runa. He simply gave an order while he swept his gaze toward the suddenly quiet forest and involuntarily felt bitterness in his mouth. With his strength as an Lv3 Magic Swordsman, he could at the very most handle Lv3 to 4 magic beasts or monsters but this pressure—he would be a fool to think he could go against it.
“Captain, what do we do?” A middle-aged man walked out from the group of mercenaries and asked. He understood their Captain’s level of strength.
“Mister, I will help as well,” Runa said with panic evident in her voice. She was about to step forward when a long hand grabbed her from behind. At the same time, a lady’s cold voice sounded, “Don’t disturb them, Runa!”
Being caught by the lady, Runa pitifully turned her head and looked at the lady with an incredibly good figure and said, “Sister Shisha, I can go and help them temporarily hold the monster off. Then, you and the others can escape…”
“With the current people we have here, we would be killed off, one by one by this unknown monster. Now, we should listen to him and escape first, unless we wanted to drag them down. You should stop adding to the trouble. If you had not caused a mess before, why would we end up attracting this monster? Our friends had almost lost our lives earlier because of this!” Shisha frowned and softly chided at Runa.
Runa felt some grievances from being scolded like this but did not dare to say anything as she obediently stood beside the woman.

“Miss Cortex, if anything were to happen later, bring Miss Runa along and leave first. We will hold them here.” The mercenary captain said.
A pair of glassy eyes glanced at him as Shisha said faintly, “Then what are we doing now and still talking? We need to go! Now!”
Hearing this, the captain rubbed his nose in embarrassment as he waved at Runa who was purposefully displaying a grimace on her face.
The mercenaries didn’t bother harvesting the fallen Cyclops. It’s a pity but right now, their lives come first! Against this oppressive presence, it would be foolish to stubbornly remain here.
Mercenaries immediately turned around and carried their fallen comrades and even the vice-captain took the poisoned youth personally—however, at this moment,
“Humans… you have good guts kidnapping my son while I was away…?” As they started to leave, an icy cold voice rang out, enveloping the entire area as if they were dropped into a freezing lake.
Weaker mercenaries felt their knees given up and they couldn’t help but started to fall.
Even Shisha and the Captain whose level was the highest around started to pale from fear and panic. A monster that can talk human language…?
Such beast was already equivalent to dragons and mythical phoenix—Holy Beast…!!
And this Holy Beast is certainly none other than…a Monster King!!
Thud!
All the people simultaneously turned their heads in the direction of the sound and saw a large wolf, probably over two to three meters tall emerged within the snow, and at this moment, numerous individuals’ eyes narrowed.
It was an exceptionally beautiful creature. Its body was covered with a beautiful white fur. Cold breaths blew out from its snow-white muzzle and froze the surrounding air. A pair of oceanic blue eyes stared coldly at the numerous insects in front of it.
It was looking emotionlessly at the crowd, as though it was staring at lifeless corpses!
“I don’t have interest in reaping human’s lives but if you don’t hand my son at this very moment, then forget about leaving this forest alive…!!”
A cold but feminine voice muttered.
From its aura alone, the crowd couldn’t help but step back in fear.
The captain gritted his teeth and stepped forward, “Your Excellency, you have mistaken us for someone else, we didn’t touch any of your children…”
“Liar!!” The snow wolf stepped forward with an angry voice. “Do you think my eyes are for show?! That I couldn’t even recognize my own son…!? That filthy human over there, hurry and take off your nasty paw of my son or else I will kill you!!” Grrrr—!!
The mercenary captain frowned and let out a confused expression. He then turned around and looked around but he couldn’t see any cub in the vicinity, even a monster that looked like a wolf was nowhere to be found. So, which son…?
The others too made the same action and surveyed their surrounding in confusion.
However, there was really no wolf cub in this place… is this wolf king… delusional…?

However, Shisha Cortex was a smart woman. When she stared at the wolf king, she then noticed that its pair of chilling eyes never left, only one direction… and that is,
“… Are you talking about him?” Shisha asked respectfully while pointing at the unconscious youth who was being carried by a man.
All eyes immediately concentrated on the unconscious youth. All their eyes revealed a shocking expression. What?! Is he a wolf cub…?
If he’s a wolf cub… then what are we? Are we even still human?!
This wolf king is delusional!!
However, what made them trembled was because the wolf king actually nodded his head. “That’s right! Shameless human, just because I left for a moment, you dare steal my son? Do you all want to court death?!”
“No, no… of course not!” Shisha hastily denied. “My sister saw him poisoned so she brought back to save him…”
“… …” The snow wolf king narrowed her eyes. “Then, let loose him…” She coldly muttered as she slowly walked towards them. Her imposing manner was taken aback…
“Y, yes…”
When the youth was placed on the ground, the snow wolf king immediately rushed over, sniffing the body. Human-Like emotions appeared on her eyes—worry, pain, anxiousness, frustration—however, after checking the youth’s countenance for a few minutes, the snow wolf finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Stupid boy…” The snow wolf cursed affectionately. “I told you the Golden Toad King is not a good thing and you actually wanted its heart… Haaaizz seriously,” After saying so, the snow wolf king opened her mouth and a frozen heart was spat out.
When this thing appeared, the youth’s closed eyes abruptly opened.
His eyes surveyed the surrounding but then, when the familiar face of a beautiful snow wolf appeared on his vision, his lips curled upwards, “Mother!”
“You silly child! I said the Golden Toad King isn’t a cabbage… now, look at you! You almost hanged!” The snow wolf angrily growled. Her paw raised and smack at the head of the youth—the paw that could break a giant tree with a slap actually didn’t cause any damage to the youth’s head, and instead seemed extremely gentle. This scene was extremely comical yet no one dared laugh.
“Ha ha ha, I was actually almost there… never thought Golden Toad King has one last vicious trump card, I was then poisoned…however, with its heart, I will recover easily,” the youth laughed heartily—though his body was still numbed, thus unmoving.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid… fortunately, the Golden Toad King was gravely injured and couldn’t run fast… here, I have taken its heart…”
“Mother feeds me that thing, I couldn’t move…”
The surrounding people stared aghast at the strange scene in front of them. A beautiful snow wolf was feeding a youth a frozen heart was really a strange scene. They glanced at each other not knowing what to do.
After a few minutes, the complexion of the youth lying on the ground started to turn better. At most, he can finally move his limbs. Thus, he stood with great difficulty after a few minutes. During this time, no one dared to move afraid that even if they do, the Wolf King would turn at their direction and they would certainly turn into a popsicle. They could only stand, rooted in their places, watching this scene.
Cracked! Cracked! Stretching his arms and legs, cracking sounds of joints rang out like glass breaking.
Wearing a fur-lined black parka and long, drapey T-shirt, the youth’s purple dyed complexion slowly reverted to a pale color.
Being spring, the peonies bloomed vibrantly after the blizzard disappeared, but under that snow-like figure, they suddenly lost all of their colors. The hem of his clothes brushed past the green ground, passing through layers of hundreds of flowers around them. It was like a burst of cool breeze, dispelling all the noise and dusty smoke in the forest.
“Hello friends,” the youth muttered with a warm smile. The distinct edges of the youth’s face and the sharpness of his eyes made him appear exceptionally handsome.
He had lips that were even more tender and lovelier than roses; his twinkling eyes were slightly covered by his glossy obsidian-colored hair and invited the smiles of everyone present as his melodious voice flowed smoothly, “I thank you for your help, a while ago, actually was quite dangerous,” He he, he chuckled. Clear voice with a hint of laughter in it echoed within the quiet forest.
“You are…?” Shisha stepped forward, inquired curiously. Unlike the sickly impression he gave off a while ago, when he opened his eyes and talk, everything instantly changed. The youth in front of them somehow gave off confidence and sharpness as if his power poured out in magnificent torrents—as if in front of him, all of the people around her, including her were commoner in front of a noble, a peasant in front of a King.
However, the youth just smiled and didn’t respond. He turned his head towards Runa who was looking at himself curiously, he smiled, “Runa… right?” he had heard her name being mentioned in his paralyzed state and thus, remembered it.
“W, what?” Runa was startled. She stared at him vigilantly.
“Currently, I don’t have anything of great value… however, I hope you accept this gift as a token of my gratitude for trying to save my life,” The youth waved his hand and an oceanic blue colored knight sword appeared on his hand.
Throwing it towards Runa’s direction, the sword made a graceful arc in the air and then stabbed before the girl.
Even though he was immobilized, he was actually still conscious and was touched by the girl's desperate act of trying to save himself, even almost dying in the process.
Her courage, kindness, bravery—it's a rarity for the current world~
The youth smiled warmly as the sun, "Good people are always rewarded."
