《Kinda Real Online》13. Full Party

It wasn't until after I left the coffee shop that I realized how convienent it was for me to end up in a city that happened to be ruled by a family that speciallized in removing curses. Almost like I was given a place to start, or someone planned for me to be here. I would have thought it was my mother, but from what she told me about human culture I wasn't too sure she knew what she was talking about. So maybe it was the universe, or there was some kind of game master who took pity on me, or maybe there's a dragon god that's sad about all the cursed dragons. Whatever the reason I was thankful.
The plaza was still busy, but I noticed a familiar blue jacket moving through the crowds.
Shadow Step.
When I got there I noticed that it wasn't just Marcus, but Lily too. I wanted to see how long it took them to notice me, so I just followed along without saying anything. For a while. I followed them all the way through the plaza, into the adventurer's guild and up to a receptionist.
"Welcome to the adventurer's guild, what can I do for the three of you today?"
"Three?" Lily looked back at me and squealed, "Bwyd! Bjorn went to get someone to scry you, we thought you were in jail or something."
"Uh, jail? Why would I be in jail?"
"Oh I just assume the worst if anything isn't what I expect. Also, you can understand me! I improved my speech thing so I can talk to dra... you. It was really cheap."
Marcus looked at the receptionist, "We were just here to sign up our party for the expedition, and Bwyd needs to register as a member of the arcane guild."
"Alright let me see your party papers, and Bwyd's identification papers and I'll get everything taken care of for you."
Marcus handed her a paper, and I took out my papers. Once the receptionist finished with the party papers I got a notification about the party joining the expedition, and then she took my papers. Her eyes widdened when she read them, probably because it still said something about my princess status... But she quickly did something with the orb, and my papers, looked at me a couple times, then pressed a magic stamp on my papers.

"You are all set for the expedition, and Princess Bwyd you are now officially associated with the arcane guild with the title of apprentice. If you need anything else do not hesitate to let us know." When none of us said anything she continued, "Thank you for your help on the expedition, and have a wonderful day, your highness."
We walked out in silence, with Lily giving me wierd looks, and Marcus slightly shaking.
The moment we were outside Lily pulled us over to a bench and said "Privacy zone. What. Was. That?"
Marcus chose that moment to burst out laughing so I had to explain, "Marcus."
"What? Did he mess with your identification papers to make you a princess?" She had her hands on her hips, and was kind of angry looking, but she almost looked like a child so it was hard not to laugh at her. "Hey, I'm serious!"
"Mirthful Laughter"
Alert!
Your servant Marcus is attempting to cast an enchantment spell on you
Do you want to ignore the effects?
Y/N?
'I'll ignore that, and Curse of Stup... Oops that's permanant. Why can't I remove curses?'
"Marcus! Sleep." Marcus suddenly fell to the ground, and started snoring. "There, the smart idiot is asleep, so what happened?"
"Well, remember when we first met?" She nodded, "Well he did something that made it so the orb thing could see something when I touched it, and for some reason it said that I was a princess. I have no idea what else it says though, I can't read it."
"Hmm, let me see I can read it if you want. That I'll know how badly he messed up." She had a creepy smile, but I figured I could trust her, so I gave her my papers. "So it says here that you are Princess Bwyd Dider of the Scathy clan of the Bairseach Kingdom. Daugher of Queen Fawrioscatha Dider and heir to the kingdom. Race, half elf. Also affiliated with the arcane guild."

"So, that almost sounds right."
"What! You really are a princess?" Lily's eyes were wide.
"You know what I am, and I think I heard my mother say something about Bairseach, and she does kind of rule the area, so... yeah. Also Dider is close to my actual name, so I bet whatever he did took some of the information about me and made it make sense."
"As long as you're ok with it, and we're not going to have some noble from Bairseach calling you a fraud, I don't see a problem with you being a princess." She started kicking Marcus.
"Is it wierd for royalty to run around on adventures?"
"No, there's quite a few kingdoms around so princes and princesses often go out on adventures. They just usually have an entourage." She started kicking harder and Marcus finally woke up.
"Hey, you don't have to kick me. Just dispel it next time."
"But that isn't as much fun." She looked like she was pouting.
"What kind of healer likes to inflict pain?" He brushed the dirt off his jacket.
"Only on the ones who deserve it. And you."
"Ok guys, stop fighting. Don't we need to find Bjorn?"
They both smiled at me and said at the same time, "We aren't fighting." Then they started walking off.
I followed them, shaking my head just thinking about what I just saw. I was pretty sure that both Marcus and Lily liked messing with people, and Bjorn was the member of the group that kept things focused, but they all cared for each other. I was still reletively new to the group, so I really hoped I'd find where I fit in, and they'd accept me just like they did each other.
"Bjorn just messaged me and said he got a new member. He won't tell me anything, just says she might be a handful, and too much for me to handle. I think he's underestimating me, but I'm teleporting to him. Meet you guys back at the house." And Marcus disappeared.
"Well, that was sudden. After the speech, and all the build up. I'm glad we're going to have more girls than guys, but if Bjorn says she's a handful then from now on, we might have even more fun." She had a gleeful look as she took off running. "We have to get things ready at the house, and you need to pick your room before the new person."
I was able to follow her by running and using Shadow Step, but even with her short legs, Lily was fast. She was so fast I had to use Shadow Step. I may have been bad at running, but her speed was unnatural. So, needless to say, we made it to the house in record time.
Waiting for us in the dining room was Bjorn, Marcus, and a woman who was about the same size as Bjorn, but that was the only similarity. She had blue skin, short black hair, leather armor, and lots of weapons. Every inch of available space was used to carry some kind of weapon. She had daggers, swords, maces, javelins, and hand axes for small weapons, and she had a massive sword and a halberd on her back.
Oh, and she had four arms.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.

Legend of the Guild: Point Blank
Status: On hiatus indefinitely, because I'm going to be busy and the story is now at a place where it needs major reconstruction. Curt is a young gunslinger from a small town called Ore Town, situated in a barren wasteland known as the Dusts. While sabotaging the gang threatening his town, Curt is forced to take a leap of faith, literally. He plunges into the sea of clouds expecting death, only to arrive in an entirely new world beneath his own. Saved by a young girl using magic, Curt isn't too sure what to make of his second chance of life. When he meets a fellow Duster who had fallen years ago, he's roped into becoming second-in-command of a brand new guild. Guild duties aren't easy, especially as Curt is tasked to recruit fighters to take on the Grand Guild Tournament, where the winning guild takes home an enormous prize pool -- and most importantly, a mysterious ticket to the fabled "Star City" that exists above the clouds. Going with the flow only takes him so far, and Curt soon finds himself burdened with more responsibility than he bargained for, including the fate of the two worlds. ==============================Wordpress This webnovel is written for fun, and everything posted is essentially a first draft. Beware of typos and lack of creative descriptions — my main priority is to get the story out over writing quality. Still, I hope you enjoy the story. Updates are sporadic, but I aim to release a chapter (~2000-3000 words) at least once a week. Average release time is 1 chapter/3 days. I took inspiration from the lore of the MMO, Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon & Fighter), and there may be easter eggs or references to the game, but the story and characters have become wholly original and standalone. [Note: Profanity tag is up because profanity is present, but infrequent]

The Bracelet I Got Was More Than I Bargained For
Andrew and his friends, Isaac, Lisbeth, and Cameron meet a shady man on the way home from school. This man promises them adventure on another world, called Calorin, if they are willing to help him with an experiment. This experiment requires the use of a bracelet, one that cannot be removed once bonded to but will give them abilities such as healing or enhanced strength. Thanks to some peer pressure Andrew reluctantly agrees to join the experiment. The friends are soon on their way to Calorin but Andrew notices feelings coming from the bracelet, ones that want nothing to do with the strange man. It is just before they arrive at their destination that the bracelet changes everything for Andrew and he finds himself separated from his friends and the strange man. Stuck in the middle of a forest Andrew will need to find out where he is, how to find his friends, and why the bracelet has been acting the way it has. Author's Note:This story is a sidequel/prequel to Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As it only has one or two connected characters there is no need to read one or the other to understand them.
