《The New Start By Sudar》Chapter 1 Strange Start

Proof Read By DemonWing
After I looked around I wasn’t quite sure where I was but it seemed like a wooden house. It was gorgeous with many decorations and intricate details. I don’t know why I still have the memories of my past life. Right now there isn’t much else to do other to wonder about my current situation, after all trying to figure where I am takes priority.
Looking around I can see that I am in a bedroom with a bed big enough for two people. I figured that since I am a child that my parents should be nearby.
When I first saw my mother I noticed is that she was an elf. I don’t know if I can call her that or if there is a different name for her race, but I’ll stick with it for now.
There isn’t anything that seems to be out of place, but the room looks medieval so I suspect I was reborn in a different world with a variety of races and cultures. I quickly grew tired so I figured I should get some sleep.
The next morning I woke up and saw my mother sleeping. I wanted to get out of the bed so I cried out.
-Ahhaa!!
As I cried Mother woke up and looked over at me. She soon stood and picked me up, gently rocking me in her arms.
-Now, now, don’t cry Mama is here, smile.
As she said that I started smiling in order to try and cheer her up. She seemed to be a person to be able to handle such things. I looked once more into the bed and saw that Father wasn’t there. I haven’t seen him yet but I figured he must be busy.
After my mother dressed she carried me downstairs into the dining room. I saw her change so I expected to be embarrassed but when I saw her naked I didn’t feel anything. I think it must be because we are family.
When we entered the dining room I could see that it was indeed a medieval age house. She placed me on the table and began to prepare breakfast. I glanced around curiously and saw a window leading outside. Through the window I could see a village a little distance from here. It seemed like we lived on a little hill and were looking down upon the village. The houses were made of the same wood and stone as the house I was currently in. I was surprised when I saw the village it proved my assumption of time in this world.

Meanwhile Mother was preparing some meal at the kitchen. She looked my way and continued what she was doing. Because I couldn’t move from this place I started to look around for something interesting.
After a lot of observation I figured this house is a one-story house with a basement, and main floor, and a second floor. When my mother had been carrying me I saw that the corridor had seven doors, so there was a total ten rooms including the basement, living room, and the dining room.
Some time later mother seemed to finish what she was doing and placed some food on the
table. The food seemed normal it was a red soup with vegetables, meat, and bread. Seeing that mother has only prepared two dishes I thought that father wouldn’t come. I was beginning to get a little suspicious by the absence of my father.
Later when I finished the delicious meal my mother placed me on a carpet on the second floor in room full of books. In the room there was also a work desk and a lot of paper. Mother then spoke to me.
-Okay little guy, stay here and don’t go away, okay? Mama is going to work.
With a smile she got up and sat on the chair in front of the desk it seemed like she has work to do so I stayed put and looked around for any information.
When I think about it seemed like the language my mother was speaking was English. I was curious if the writing was any different so I approached the lowest part of the bookshelf and picked up a book.
As I opened the book and looked at the writing I quickly concluded that it was indeed different from what I knew. Since I couldn’t understand the cover nor any of the content of the book, I closed it. As I closed the book I saw that the letters began to wiggle around as if they were alive and the letters shifted from place to place. When the words finally settled back into place, I flipped through the book once again. I was surprised to see that the writing had turned into English.
I read the cover of the book it said: Introduction to Magic.
Magic exists in this world? In my old world magic was just a fairy tale told to kids. This book seemed quite suspicious.

After some time I started to read through the book and see if magic was real. I was astonished with the speed that I read the book. It only took me 5-8 seconds for one page. I finished the whole book just 30 minutes later. The book was thick so I was worried that I would be able to remember everything, luckily my body seemed to have a better memory in this world.
After I finished the first book I continued to read. I found a lot of useful information about this world. I read all the books on the first shelf. It was total of about 200 books, most of them were about magic or rituals, but some were history books.
When I was reading my mother seemed to be watching me with a smile, she probably thought I was simply looking at them. Hehehehe.
At one point, probably because I got through so many books, my mother seemed to be interested in what I was doing and approached. She stretched as she stood up from the desk. It seemed like her work is almost done. As she came close and bent down and examined what I was reading.
-Oh, what are you doing Damon? Looking at the history books?
Well, I had wondered what my name was in this world. Damon, huh... it’s a good name. As she said that she looked at the book and told me:
-Oh this is the part where the war of the six races ended, you know your mother participated in that war herself.
Wait a minute, the book says the war ended 300 years ago. Does that mean she is over 300 years old!?!? Is she trying to show off? But it couldn’t possibly be that... Wait, it can be! This is a fantasy world so maybe there are immortal beings, or ones with extra long lifespans. While I had been thinking Mother continued her story.
-Back then it was really chaotic but even now it isn’t much better if your father was here…
After that she went quiet. It seems like I made her remember an unpleasant memory. As she hugged her legs I tried to comfort her.
-Thank you Damon, mama will do her best even if she is alone. After all I am a powerful magician, haha!
As she boasted of her strength I could tell that inside she is a good person. She is strong. After she was finished talking she picked me up and placed me back in my bed and changed.
So far what I know of the world is that 300 years ago the six Great Races had a war for the control of the entire continent. There were Elves, Dwarves, Humans, Orcs, Beasts, and the last one was the Demon race. There reason they were called the Great Races is because they were the groups who had the largest numbers of people on their sides. Of course there are other races like Argonians. They are a race that is made up of a small group of people that look like lizards. The war ended 300 years ago because all the races suffered high casualties. The six Great Races came to an agreement to create a peace treaty. Although my mother had told me there is still some hostility remaining from the war.
For now I am more interested in magic. In my previous life I did nothing more than learn how to fight and smith a variety of weapons and armor. I have an advantage in combat because this new body healthy. Also, I read that this world has healing magic so even if I get crippled I can find a way heal myself. Although if one of my limbs gets torn off there isn’t much I can do, but let’s not think about that.
So far I don’t have to worry about combat. This world seems like a VRMMO. What need is more knowledge. Since this body has the ability to memorize things in couple seconds so it is a good idea to read as many books as I can. As I am thinking Mother comes and picks me up.
-Today you are going sleep with me Damon, hehe.
Hmm, seems like I can think more about all of this later. As the light turns off my mother and I sleep side by side.
