Chapter 52: Spatial
In the practice room, Fang was experimenting with several different targets when the door to the room opened once again.
At this time, the servants inside the tower wouldn’t come to disturb him, so the only person would be Valeria. However, he was confused – it hadn’t been that long, and it seemed that she and Yume had a lot to talk about.
Perhaps she had to leave early?
His thoughts came to halt as the person walking in didn’t resemble Valeria at all.
Yume!
Seeing Fang’s dumbfounded appearance, Yume proudly came forward. “Hello, it turned out that instead of Valeria, I’ll be your trainer for today!”
Her aggressive behaviour took Fang by surprise, and he lowered his head hastily from those peaks that strutted out in front of him. “I’ll be fine on my own today.”
She frowned. “Why, are you afraid of losing?”
“Certainly not…” There was no shame in losing, after all, Yume defeated Vincent’s father at the first blow, and there wasn’t a chance he could withstand a single attack.
“Then tell me why.”
Fang slowly explained, “Well, senior, you’re part of the judging committee from the country’s headquarters, but I’m just a normal person from a small city, so I feel a bit anxious.”
Unexpectedly, she burst out in laughter. “It seems that you are really shy and adorable! I’ve already said though that I’m not part of the judging committee right now. Also, Valeria’s pretty close with you, and a friend of hers is a friend of mine.” She paused. “To be honest though, I’m very curious as to how you defeated William, and if I went back now I probably couldn’t fall asleep. Do you want me to stay up the entire night, and make me look miserable, with bags under my eyes?”

“That…” Fang’s voice traced off.
Yume waved a finger at him. “So then, why don’t you show me how strong you are?”
Unable to come up with a response, Fang released his energy, promoting him to the 4th intermediate level, and a ball of energy flew out towards her.
In response, she answered with a release to the 3rd grade intermediate level; yet, her energy was different in color, being a shade of light grey.
A cube appeared in her hands and spun to meet the colorless energy in the air.
Hiss!
Fang’s energy disappeared upon collision, while the cube drastically shrunk in size.
Seeing the results of the conflict, Fang was slightly shocked. William, who was several levels above him couldn’t win in a test of how strong the energies were, but Yume’s energy, which was a level lower than him currently managed to break through.
Mirrored on the other side, Yume was also surprised. The defining attribute of the spatial element was control, as it would exert its dominance taking up space. Although it wasn’t too powerful, its ability to steadily overcome all the other types was unparalleled, yet Fang’s blast depleted it quite significantly.
Even as it decreased in size, the cube still accelerated towards Fang. With his experience though, Fang didn’t stay still admiring the tenacity of the energy - he quickly sunk in his knee and flashed a small distance, firing a blast of energy before disappearing and sending another blast.
V Shadow Step!
Again, Yume’s eyes lit up with interest; she clearly knew that this technique was incredibly difficult to perform if the element of the energy assisting the movement wasn’t wind.
Like in William’s match, Fang didn’t stop there. He rushed right next to Yume, and kicked his foot in a precise, large arc.

Clink!
Immediately, a small grey shield appeared on Yume’s arm, completely nullifying his kick. Regardless of how talented Fang was, there was no chance for him to break through that durable energy. However, he didn’t relent with the single kick, and with a turn, sent down another arc, only to be unsuccessfully blocked for a second time.
Rapidly, bursts of light filled the room as the two clashed together.
By then, Yume had a clear understanding of Fang’s current strength.
It was a monstrous amount of talent, she thought. Not only was he a 4th grade intermediate, his techniques were honed to an eerie perfection. Even the higher difficulty skills such as Shadow Step was flawlessly executed, and the timing as well as the chaining of a skill onto another spotless. To change this much in such a short period of time was scary, indeed.
However, this shouldn’t have been enough to ensure an easy defeat over William, was William just not performing that well?
She came to a stop.
Seeing the chance, Fang also stopped, and energy started to condense around him.
Her eyes narrowed – was it that he had a stronger attack in mind?
A sphere of energy rose above Fang’s head, then a second, a third…
In moments, Fang had littered the air with numerous spheres, and a second later, they accelerated towards Yume.
The air heated up as one, two, three balls collided against a large barrier.
Explosively, the balls shredded at the wall, and then, unable to take the hits, the barrier collapsed.
Instantly, the energy around Yume grew brighter and brighter.
Another barrier appeared, but as soon as it appeared, it became battered to a point where a single poke would take it down.
With the end of the small meteors, it wasn’t over yet. An overwhelming large mass of energy started to crash through the barrier.
Yet, even that came to an abrupt end as brilliantly, a grey box engulfed the energy and diminished to nothing.
The Meteor Shower was too strong, far stronger than anything she had expected. She had to promote her energy a couple of levels, and throw out a green staged technique to oppress it. This technique, it was something that she neglected as she thought it wasn’t worth the time invested, but she never thought she’d see it from Fang.
No wonder William was defeated by him!
Never would she have expected that unknown youth she scouted for Valeria could possibly be this talented!
