《A Cursed Life.》21 - Pressure

"Surely, young master, you jest? Humans are weak and they do not possess any defining traits other than to be used for manual labor." The current king looked into Räel's eyes to see if they revealed anything but could not determine why he had actually come. "You have threatened royalty, and you must know that means nothing less than death."
Again the obsidian knife is put up to the kings throat, and a little slit of blood flowed freely. The kings scalp grew numb, but he knew if he backed down now he would be killed without question for not showing any backbone. The king pressed forward slightly and drew more blood, but locked gazes with Räel. In their eyes, mutually they saw that they were not as weak as others assumed they were.
"I am completely serious, I have spoken with the Thousand Eyes Clan, even you should know who they are. Considering they are a part of the same clan as your royal advisers. Perhaps you should confer with them before the humans get the upper hand and begin killing off our brethren. In seven days time, I will return here to consult you on what to do. Should you choose to take that time and squander more resources, I will kill you indiscriminately and take your place. I believe you know I am quite capable of doing it."
Räel put the obsidian blade back into the sheath and noiselessly walked through the hidden door. After the king had healed and looked for Räel, he could not find a single trace of his identity or presence within the capital. It was as if he had never existed in the first place. After confirming that Räel could not be found, the king spoke with his royal advisers.
"I have been told that humans will soon begin to cast off their shackles and rebel against us. Can you confirm or deny such rumors?"
"We cannot confirm nor deny such rumors my king. We must communicate with the elders of our Thousand Eyes Clan for a divination of such magnitude. It will take approximately three days. Once that had been done, we can absolutely tell you." The royal adviser spoke matter-o-factly but still hid embarrassment at being stared at by the king.
"Whatever resources you need, get it done. This is a priority mission from the king himself." The king breathed deeply and yawned, the previous events have racked his brain and made him tired. Without thinking, he called for his human concubines to join him in the royal chambers.
As they joined him in the large and soft bed, they gratuitously pleasured him until he felt like he was transcending to heaven. Just as he was about to climax, one of the concubines pulled a glowing red dagger from her skirt and stabbed it into his side. To the kings dismay, the dagger had been coated in a poison that cause the heart to rend and the mind to seize temporarily. Within a few seconds, the other concubines pulled out more daggers and began hacking and slashing at him fiercely.

Through a combination of the poison and fatal stab wounds, the king died without even muttering a sound of discomfort. His eyes rolled back into his head, blood pooling in his mouth and gushing from his sides. His major organs had ruptured from the multiple stab wounds and stained the beautiful linens on the bed.
Once the human concubines achieved their mission, they hurriedly left. As they opened the door to leave, their eyes went wide and blood began to flow freely from their throats. Räel appeared before them and peered through the door only to see the old kings cut up body. He placed the concubines back onto the bed, cleaned up the blood by the door and put a dagger in the hand of all but one concubine. The last dagger was placed into the hands of the king to make it look like he had put up a fight in the end.
Räel then walked out of the room and closed the door quietly. He muttered under his breath about the boys folly and went to find a guard to speak with. He explained to the guard that he was summoned by the king to speak about the Thousand Eyes clan. The guard quickly showed him to the throne room and went to go speak with the king, but as soon as he entered the hidden room he began to yell for backup. The nearby guards and seers all joined in the room and looked on in horror at the dead king and his concubines. From the stabs and cuts made to both parties, the only logical conclusion that could be made was that the humans had got the jump on him and he fought back killing all of them but not surviving his fatal wounds.
Räel feigned sincerity and gave his condolences to the seers with which he pretended to be acquainted with. He spoke with them about his lover, Rin, and the visions that The Thousand Eyes Clan showed to him. He connected his life force to theirs and showed them the visions he had been granted. With no choice but to accept the truth, the seers decreed that all humans within the magical kingdoms must be killed. That night, and the next day, a great culling happened and hundreds of thousands of magical beings were killed by their human slaves and lovers. Within a week, all the humans who remained within their masters homes were unceremoniously killed and their bodies dumped onto the roads to be swept away.
On the third night, the seers received a vision from their gods of the man who would lead the magical beings to a truly peaceful existence. Räel accepted the position as king, and received seven challenges within the first day. He accepted the challenges and ordered the guards to send the acceptance letter to the individual clans. The challenge was to take place at the training ground within the capital city on the same day at the same time.
Seven different clans all sat equidistant to each other within the training ground. The event had sent the city into an uproar, as a match like this had never been seen before. The king openly admitted that he would fight the seven strongest clans at the same time. To any other person, this was suicidal, but to the seers this would be a good display of the skills the king possessed. With this much, there should be no dissent among the tribes once they saw the strength of their king.

Räel was the first to enter the training ground, and all the onlookers pointed and whispered. He used sound amplification magic to announce that he would indeed be fighting the seven major clans at the same time, and that they may all step forward now. The elders of the seven clans gave a displeased look before motioning for their strongest clansmen to get into the training ground.
The first to enter the ring was the clan master of the Burning Viper clan. The clan master had sharp eyes, as if they were a serpent watching their prey. They practiced an ancient magic that allowed them to take the form of a fifty foot tall king cobra to reign terror upon their enemies. The next up was the Blue Dragon clan, who sent the elder's son to fight. His hair was short and slightly tossed, but gave off a very regal aura.
The third to enter was known as the banshee queen, and she was almost completely transparent. She had a very old and proud gaze, as if she had already foretold the way this battle would end. The fourth to make it to the training ground was a small boy with a cloth over his eyes. Though his stature was small, the aura he gave off was more powerful than any others yet. He was the son of the Blood Gaze clan. He took off the cloth around his eyes to reveal empty sockets and unfurled his hands to show that his eyes had been implanted into them. His eyes looked around warily, as if they intended to absorb the souls of the watchers.
The fifth was a young master of the Green Tree clan, who had ancient legacies claiming to be from the tree of life itself. The sixth and seventh entered at the same time, hand in hand. Respectively, they were from the Treasured Third Eye and Whipping Tail clans. They had entered into a tryst and were caught, so the punishment was that they could not separate their hands and must remain that way for forty years. Though others saw this as a disadvantage, by no means would anyone who understood the capabilities of the third eye clan think it was. They had the unique capabilities of clairvoyance during intense battle, making them indispensable tools during war times.
As the last two members entered the stage, the clans began to activate their abilities. To all the current tribes, the current king was a nobody who managed to convince the royal advisers to give him the temporary title. The seven clans made a deal with each other, they would quickly out this fool and then fight among themselves to find the true strongest clan. That clan would be the one to take the seat of king and rule the magical beings.
Before the battle began, the king again used his booming voice to promise the seven clans that he would hold back and not kill any of the important people who came to challenge him. This further whipped the crowd into a frenzy, and a few hoped he could truly do as he promised. If he was able to show that kind of restraint and still win, then the magical beings had nothing to fear when it came to being lead against any threat.
The Burning Viper clan master made the first move, and quickly transformed into a fifty foot tall king cobra to bare his poisonous fangs. The poison seeped from him and hit the ground before being absorbed by the earth quickly. As the poison seeped into the ground, it gave off a putrid smell and turned the dirt black. He twisted and writhed while hurriedly rushing to the location of the king, and his body began to burn from the friction of the speed. This was truly a frightening sight, and was the reason they took the name of Burning Viper clan.
The king took from his spatial spell the rapier he had originally showed during his first visit to the royal palace and imbued a little magic into it. A terrifyingly oppressive brute force emanated from the rapier as if it intended to swallow everyone whole. He casted a quick wind magic chant and began to float in the air. He raised his body to the height of the clan master and flicked his sword, sending a terrifying amount of wind pressure toward the King Cobra. The flames on the body of the King Cobra dissipated with reluctance, and the King Cobra was sent back twenty feet without even being struck. As if he was up being slammed against a wall, he could not budge against the monstrous force and had to retreat willingly. Just the force alone was enough to push his gigantic body back, and even more so he claimed to not attack seriously. If he was telling the truth and did not attack with conviction, yet generated this much power... That alone was proof he was at least a formidable opponent worthy of the title of king.
This caused the other members of the fight to take the king a little more seriously. No longer did they mockingly judge him, as they all prepared their legacy spells.
Before they all had a chance to finish casting their spells, the King pushed forward with a demonic killing intent.
