《The Demon Lord will have his revenge!》Chapter 37.2: At death's door step

“Foolish human…the demon girl escaped…” Shin replied with a smile on his face – despite the agonizing pain he was in. Shin’s expressions revealed no lies. At this moment, Shin was no different from a small boy who lay curled on the floor, grimacing over the pain plaguing his tiny body. The assassin did not deal with him lightly when he hit Shin. Shin bore the full force of an adult man with his child like body. Even though Shin exercised daily and did his so called ‘fortitude training’, it could only be considered playing around in front of a trained killer.
The killing intent in the room went up several notches as the assassin heard Shin’s words. He had been toyed around by little children! The Baem had no need for useless people who did not accomplish their target. No, even if they did not punish him for failing to kill the last member of the Night Clan – the humiliation would be too great!
His mission was relatively simple, kill the child. As an assassin, his pride would be in tatters if the target, who is only a child, managed to escape from his clutches. It would still be excusable as they were dealing with one of their own – from the Murim – but opportunities would be hard to come by in the future because this was Japan. The Baem did not have operations outside Korea. This mission was the only exception that Baem was willing to make. If a tiny gang like Baem began rattling the superpowers of the Murim world, they would be wiped clean from the face of the earth overnight. Many of the Japanese clans would be considered amongst the elite of the Murim society. The Baem was not foolish enough to take on these super giants just yet…

In the end this all means I need to wipe out all traces of our involvement, find that brat and kill her…
It was no easy task to find that girl, and the Japanese Murim Association was already on his trail. Each passing day meant he was taking on more risk – the assassin swore loudly before plunging the dagger down at Shin.
It was at this moment, Akito made his move. Akito had been waiting all this while for this opportunity. He had been lying on Shin’s bed and watching everything unfold. At first Akito was shocked to learn that the caretaker of the institute was the assassin. Akito could not even fathom when or how did the assassin take place of the real caretaker without him realizing so.
Akito had been watching everything from the start. From when the caretaker entered the room to him torturing Shin. Although, the original plan had been that Shin lure out the assassin and Akito pounce on him. Akito found Shin’s plan good but naïve. A well trained assassin would never have his guard down. Just because Shin had lured him out did not mean that he would be easy to kill. The timing had to be right. Of course, Akito didn’t mention his thoughts to Shin. He was certain if Shin is true to his character that alone should be enough to enrage the assassin who would loosen his guard.
True to Shin’s character, his prideful nature tore the calm demeanour of the assassin who forgot to check – who was sleeping on Shin’s bed. Akito was about to move on the assassin when he first kicked Shin but was momentarily when Shin did not give away Hime-sama’s location. For the first time, Akito saw Shin in a different light – he may be crazy but at least he is loyal. As a retainer, how could Akito not understand the value of loyalty. Loyalty was something Akito prided over and Shin now proved his loyalty to Hime-sama. Anyone else, even the elders of the Night Clan in the face of their death would have sold off Hime-sama long before, but this boy in front of him protected them even though he was being subject to unnecessary pain. There was no need for Shin, who was a complete stranger to them, to go this far for them – yet he did. He did so despite Akito not sticking to the original plan proposed (more like commanded) by Shin. So how could Akito not act to save Shin?
