《Re:Otaku Prince life in another world》Chapter 94: [ Burst Speed ]

There was no use waiting. She realigned her expression, looking very serious indeed.
She shouted then charged at him.
With a fixed gaze Lyle stared at the incoming attack. His hand rested on the sword at his waist.
In his eyes, the sword approached him in slow motion. He could see every detail of his opponent, the breathing, compression of muscles, enlargement of the pupils… everything!
... ...
"Wha!?"
In the instant that the blade fell upon him, he vanished. No, he just jumped fast enough while evading her sword that he seemed to disappear.
Marcia was dumbfounded after missing her target.
What was that, just now!?
Despite her surprise, she still surveyed her surroundings. Possessing the eyes of the dragon, her kinetic vision was way above the norm. However, even with this, she could only see blurred after images of him.
Another intense battle broke out. Both Lyle and Marcia's speed were raised to the limits and only afterimages were left behind.
The second strike, and then the third. Here and there on the battlefield, Lyle kept moving like a windstorm between her flashing strokes, completely dodging each attack.
His movements were impossible to follow. Forget her sword, even her eyes couldn't keep up with his speed. Eventually, Marcia could no longer catch even a rough visual of his position.
What's going on ?
This is the first time Marcia felt something like this.
She possessed the Dragon lineage! Her speed and strength isn't something any warrior no matter how strong they are could match. Her Dragon eyes could see even the tiniest movements of her enemy.
Even if these enemies came from the same clan, she could still follow their movements with her eyes ...
But this ...
She couldn't even follow Lyle's figure. He was like a ghost ... a specter!
However, the stronger Lyle proved to be, the more intense her fighting spirit would burn.
"You're good ..." Suddenly Lyle, who was moving around with movements that could no longer even be tracked by human eyes, used his astounding speed to appear at Marcia's blind side, and ended everything. ".. but still not enough. [ Iai; Sonic Blaze ]"
“What?” Marcia was sure that her attack was about to land on him, but then, her vision suddenly blurred and he went missing.
The next moment, Lyle appeared at her right. With a *slash* accompanied by a red colored light.
At a speed that could be neither dodged nor blocked, without even a chance to scream, Marcia took a direct hit.

"Ah―"
This was what Lyle did when they first exchange blows. An attack fast as the wind that couldn't be block nor dodge.
Right now, almost everyone couldn’t help dumbfounded watching Lyle and Marcia.
Marcia was someone with the Dragon lineage! She was also one of the top swordsmen in the class.
All the bystanders originally thought that Lyle was the one who would’ve been given a beating if they fought a pure sword battle without any use of magic.
However, in this confrontation, it wasn’t him who had the underhand; it was Marcia who appeared to have been utterly crushed during that battle.
They didn't saw him use swords after all. They just thought that the black thin swords dangling on his waist were just for show but this...
This was too shocking!
Wasn't he a mage? He can use a sword too?
Worse, they can't even see his figure when he was moving nor attacking! Just what is going on here?!
Was Prince Lyle also a strong warrior? An excellent swordsman?
That talent of his was borderline heaven-defying; was he still going to give others a chance to compete?
Everyone else stupidly exchanged looks.
The two instructors; Teacher Mirin and instructor Lowen were dumbfounded as well.
If one say that he was a great mage but still knows some close-combat skill, then that's fine. But to be both a great mage and a great swordsman at the same time in such a young age ?
What kind of concept was this ?!
An expert of long range and melee battle, how would his enemies fight him in the future ?! Should they just suck their thumbs and watched him ?!
Prince Feme on the other side was respecting Lyle more and more. Her level of worship increased while staring at him with fired up eyes.
Everyone was dumbfounded as they looked between Lyle and Marcia.
This revelation was too explosive. No one ever thought that Lyle was not just a genius in magic but also in swordsmanship. Everyone was completely dazed.
... ...
Marcia sat there in daze for a while, before she finally stood up and began to walk quietly towards Lyle.
Although it was her complete defeat, she doesn't seem to mind it as her eyes sparkled like jewels. Her heart started beating fast in excitement.
Just what she expected! Her young master was really strong! Strong beyond compare!
“Young master, I lost.” Marcia said respectfully.

“Not trying anymore?”
“There’s no need. I am thankful that you showed me your skills. There’s no regret in my life.”
“Don’t talk like you are an old woman. You’re still young.” Lyle smiled bitterly. It seemed like he went overboard.
"Your movement speed is excellent." Lyle said calmly.
Her movement speed was enough to earn admiration from him.
“That’s too flattering.” Marcia blushed as he heard Lyle's praised.
“I am saying the truth. It’s not easy to reach this level with your age.”
Everyone felt a shiver. Then what about you?
However, Marcia felt happy hearing that.
“Your kinetic vision looks quite good. But because of that you chased the target too much with your eyes. The trick to hit target that possess amazing speed like me is not to chase the target’s movement, but to have a wide field of vision and settle the target inside your sight..." Lyle started coaching her.
Realizing his intention, Marcia's eyes sparkled for a moment and then gradually turned serious.
"... And then, matching the target’s movement it’s not you that move, but you create the image of the target’s movement to calculate their position. If you do that you don’t even need to move your eyes, the whole body is visible so it will also becomes easier.”
Marcia's expression gradually became respectful as she carefully thought over Lyle’s advice. With a little more comprehension than the last time, she absorbed Lyle's teaching like a dry sponge.
Lyle's voice turned solemnly strict. "Mages and Warriors have major differences in using energy. From what I know, Mages used mana or what you call elemental energy while warriors used non-attribute energy called Lana to strengthen their bodies and also in their attacks."
“Eh, ah, yes-“
“Good child. ―Well, what I'm trying to say is that you need to use this so-called Lana to its utmost limit. Try to focus all of your Lana at one point and compressed it ... like your feet."
While saying so, Lyle's feet suddenly glowed in a golden light. When Lyle taps his foot on the ground, a sound as if something just exploded rang out and his figure disappeared.
He then reappear 10 meters away from his originally position.
Lyle repeated his actions with a 'BOOM!' and once again appears in front of the dumbfounded Marcia.
"That will happen. I called this [ Burst Speed ]... though at first you will likely be thrown away because of the impact, but if you mastered it, it will surely give you an upper hand on your future battles."
Honestly, Marcia had nothing to be criticized anymore in the attack power department.
But it would be artless to have her just swing her sword around, so Lyle decided to teach her some techniques he created when he was a child.
[ Burst Speed ] just like what name suggest, it was a momentary burst of speed by means of explosion under the sole of the user's foot. By focusing his mana on his feet, when he tapped the ground, it will then create a small explosion that will propel the user with an unbelievable speed.
It was like a one-second buff speed.
However, because of his massive improvement in terms of power and speed during these past few years, this kind of skill became useless for him and was never been again used by him.
And so Lyle decided to teach it to her.
"Yes!" Seeing the technique firsthand, Marcia was thrilled and excited. Like an obedient student, she wanted to immediately practice it.
Marcia's excited looks caused Lyle to feel good so he unconsciously petted her head roughly.
“Kuu~n♪”
She might be feeling good or happy; Marcia was surprised at first but then pleasantly cooed from her nose.
The rest of the students exchanged looks when they saw Marcia's excited and somewhat frenzied expression.
What are they talking about ? And what was that awhile ago ? Lyle seemed like he just teleported!
Instructor Lowen who was watching them from the distance was in utter shock and an expression that could only be described as ‘ashamed’ was on his face. He felt like he could no longer look anyone in the eye again.
As a mentor, he really felt that he had nothing to teach Prince Lyle in terms of confrontations between physiques, swordsmanship and techniques.
The other students were speechless. None of them could figure out how Lyle managed to possess such power and skills.
He was certainly younger than him but his strength was way above them.
Are the dragon clan really that superior compared to them? This really makes one die in jealousy!
Soon, the lesson was over.
