Two shadows dove towards the ancient tree Lyle was sleeping, from the dark sky.

The attackers were two D-Ranked demonic beasts known as Ice Feathered Owl. These demonic Beasts frequently appeared at night to hunt. Like the normal owls, they are nocturnal and they used their sharp claws to rip their prey apart.

What’s most troublesome about these demonic beats was that this owls are extremely cunning. They always hide in the shadows of the night and when they deemed that their prey had lowered their guard down, they immediately attack by firing dozens of Ice feathers that can freeze anything it touched …

Unfortunately for them, there are two guard dogs, er, foxes quietly protecting their beloved master.

When the two Iced feathered Owl fired their ice feathers, the two thin swords immediately floated in front of the sleeping Lyle.

One of the black sword began to burn and cut the ice feathers causing it to melt and disappeared.

The other black sword transformed into a golden fox and glared at the two owls. Its eyes were filled with hostility and its body began to emit some golden lightning’s.

In an instant, it appeared behind the two owls and slashed its sharp claws.

“”Kkrrrrhhhhh!!!””

The two owls were hit and began to bleed. However, they were still alive and decided to escaped but they apparently choose the wrong prey.

The black sword which was burning in flames appeared in front of them and mercilessly cut them apart, scorching them to death.

Since the beginning of the owl’s attacks, the whole battle only lasted for a couple of seconds. Anyone would feel surprised and shocked if they learned that it only took an instant to kill two D-ranked demonic beast … much less, Lyle himself didn’t even moved and continued to sleep soundly; without any care in the whole world~

The two thin swords reverted into their original forms as thin black swords and quietly placed themselves besides Lyle; afraid that even a single sound might wake him up.

A quiet night passed.
