《The Man Ruined by The Gods》Chapter 12: Young Dhampir(Naive youngster) vs Old Dragon(Old Monster) Part 1

As he said those words Xenados riding on his steed Pluto charged towards the dragon of course his mother was taken by Kuro. The child and beast charged towards the dragon.
The dragon seeing the little boy charging at it riding a large beast could only laugh but he didn’t belittle the pair. He felt the child was normal although he is a dhampir a half-breed, in the dragon's eyes the dhampir was nothing but a worm.
On the other hand the beast that the dhampir was riding on made the dragon vigilant even wary of the it. It was a dragon an Epic class monster, he may only be a normal black dragon he is still powerful enough to be a rank S epic class monster. But the four legged wingless beast charging towards it made the dragon feel inferior.
Dragons may be powerful and most of them are muscle brained they still know how to asses the situation and in the eyes of this top class Epic monster only the beast gave it fear. But the beast was making the small insignificant dhampir ride on it.
This showed that the dhampir may not have power but he should more or less have some special skill to take over monsters.
Feeling that he shouldn’t underestimate his opponent the dragon let out a breath. It was not the standard fire but corrosive dark smoke. As a black dragon this beast had the power of darkness and with it is the corrosive darkness breath which it is proud of. Even the most powerful magic barrier of the elves would have a hard time stopping it’s onslaught.
Xenados looked at the dark corrosive smoke that was charging towards him. He didn’t faze or even flinch, instead he closed his eyes and pushed both his hand in front of him.
“Break!”
With his exclamation the frightening breath attack of the dragon for some reason was turned to nothingness. The corrosive breath that was supposed to destroy the puny dhampir disappeared.
The dragon looked at the beast and made it his prime target. The dragon completely ignored Xenados as it didn’t think that an insignificant dhampir would be able to stop the breath much less make it disappeared entirely.
But unlike the dragon the group of elves and Antonia saw what had occurred, they even rubbed their eyes as they thought that they seen something impossible. The most shocked of them all was Antonia.
Xenados grew up learning not even a word from his father and his mother knew only a few magic spells. But just a moment ago, when Xenados pushed his hands outward. As small as those two palms were a magic circle appeared from it, without any incantation whatsoever a magic circle appeared and with only one word, “Break”. The breath disappeared as well as the magic circle.

While the group were left speechless Xenados was secretly heaving a sigh of relief as he stared at the black dragon. The breath attack earlier was frightening and Xenados knew that if he was even touched by it he would become ashes.
But he was also confident in stopping the breath attack, although he hasn’t any problems with mana consumption as his mana is infinite but the problem he always thinks about is if his mana would someday have a value.
The reason he’s training mana manipulation and practicing how to use mana effectively and efficiently is because nothing will last forever. The value of his mana has for a long time been the same [-----].
But the future is obscure and uncertain, if he will have an infinite mana tomorrow or become a measly amount lower than that of humans he still doesn’t know. Though his soul is directly connected to the mana he has he still can’t be too complacent.
Also in his memories having an infinite amount of mana doesn’t make one powerful, if the one using magic is simply throwing spells left and right because of his infinite mana pool he would sooner or later fall because of fatigue.
The hardest thing that he doesn’t want to face is to fall because his body is unable to use that much mana sometimes even explode. In a sense his body is something like a machine that is powered up by mana but too much or too little would make it explode.
As such he painstakingly trained his mana control, perception and his control of the elements.
Looking up the black dragon was just making circles around the sky, Xenados is not an idiot who would belittle this dragon as someone who experience many lives he could only wait for a right moment to attack.
(Black dragons, no matter what world they are in the dragons would all have the same characteristics… black dragons are powerful in magic combat especially their defense against magic. They have an almost complete resistance to magic, save for forbidden or god class magic black dragons won’t fall even if an army of mages were to merge their powers to defeat it)
Looking at the flying dragon Xenados passes a mental communication to Kuro.
(Take the swords of the elves, tell them I will borrow them for a while, also Pluto cast a barrier around this whole crater, such that only me and the dragon would get damaged when we fight)
With a face filled with confidence Xenados jumped off from the back of Pluto and the beast howled towards the sky then dashed towards the outer edges of the crater.

Pluto sat like a watch dog at the edge and then a dark barrier formed in an instant, the black dragon tried to escape but it was too late. He and the small dhampir were stuck inside and seeing the beast at the edge it knew that this was the plan of the dhampir.
Filled with rage the black dragon flew down like a german dive bomber wanting to become like an atomic bomb and destroy the dhampir and turn it to mush.
As it felt that victory was too easy the dhampir disappeared, the small body that disappeared reappeared behind the black dragon the weird thing is that he was floating on a sword.
The black dragon didn’t have time to react before he dropped to the ground he felt nothing due to his scales but was annoyed. How? How was a mere dhampir able to avoid him?
He felt shame and rage towards the little bastard and like a mindless monster he turned completely berserk.
The change of the dragon was weird after all dragons are cunning beast. Although it had prior signs of going berserk it now is completely berserk. It’s eyes that were crimson red glowed with a light filled with thirst, a thirst for blood.
The killing intent in the dragon's aura soared right now the most feared monster of the whole world became a monster that would kill relentlessly. If this were seen by kingdoms they would not dare to throw their armies at the dragon fearing for it’s rage to get stronger.
The reason an enraged dragon is so frightening is because it could cause devastation not only to warriors but the whole area and even the surrounding nations. A dragon's rage is hard to quench and stop.
As such if the dragon is not dealt with immediately many kingdoms could fall, but in this barrier Xenados was fearlesly fighting such a dragon.
(Dragons are frightening because of the fact that coupled with their strength is a cunning mind but when they become enraged and turn berserk they become similar to a mindless bull. If a warrior is smart slaying this dragon is but an easy task but many casualties would appear)
Xenados dodged another breath attack, he asked the elves to give him their swords so now Xenados has in his hands or possession ten iron swords. The swords would not be able to pierce the dragon but infusing it with mana would make it possible for him to atleast scratch the scales of the dragon.
But what Xenados wants to do is slay the dragon as such he focused most of his attention towards engraving magic formations on the swords.
The formations are based of void magic as it’s the type of magic he’s most proficient with. He didn’t try putting darkness or shadow magic in them as the dragon he’s facing is a black dragon. Doing so would only create more trouble than solve it.
As he dodge the attacks that hit the barrier and get absorbed the dragon would charge at him but all these attacks and charges are in vain as Xenados would dodge every single one of the dragon's attacks.
The dragon on the other hand would only grow angrier as his attacks are dodge continuously by the puny Dhampir.
Dragons are prideful beings that would rather die fighting than surrender but most of all they would never allow themselves to be humiliated. Powered by his anger and rage the dragon continuously attacks not realizing that he already fell onto the trap of Xenados.
After ten minutes of dodging Xenados has successfully engraved all magic formations on the swords. If any blacksmith were to see the iron swords now they would gasp in surprise as the swords are already artifact class.
Xenados used his knowledge to continuously surpass his limits, along with his training in mana control and infinite mana supply he made weapons that would be useful to him when fighting this dragon.
He placed a different effect on each of the ten swords making them able to attack in many ways sparing the dragon no time to asses his own condition.
The ten enchants he placed on the swords are as follows; .
There are six swords with varying enchants and four with the same enchants. Corrosion would destroy the defense, devour would slowly suck up the mana of the dragon in every strike. Possession would slowly destroy the dragons self control and when that happens the sword corruption would make the dragon more mad and make it less focused on Xenados giving more openings.
Parasite would inflict void parasites that would break the dragon from the inside out, the four destruction swords on the other hand would slowly break the dragons hard scales.
These ten swords with their enchants is Xenados’ weapons against this dragon, but there is one problem, the swords would only last an hour. After which they would turn to dust.
With these thoughts Xenados got a fallen scale and used it as a board to make him fly. He charged towards the dragon with ten sword floating around him.

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
