《Winter Sovereign》Chapter 14: Guidance

Serra was currently pondering in his room.
Lucas prepared a magnificent and luxurious room for him in a secluded part of the castle.
There were also some guards and maids posted nearby to answer to his demands.
"For the continent I'll raise, it shall be the Meis continent. I suppose I should go raise it right now."
If the various heads of the alliance heard those words, they might cough out blood.
The withdrawal of the Demon King's forces already caused them to worry, now the rise of a new continent?
They might cough up blood for real this time.
They would undoubtedly connect the withdrawal of the Demon King's forces and the rise of a fallent continent together.
As for what they imagine what will happen in the future...
They might get so worried that they might not be able to sleep easily.
"But before I go, perhaps I'll check on my two descendants?"
Serra smiled lightly before reaching out towards the bell in the desk near his chair.
The two descendants he was referring to was undoubtedly Eisel and Meileen.
*Ring*
The bell let out a melody.
*Creak*
The door opened to reveal a young lady dressed in the clothes of a maid.
The maid outfit fitted her black hair and eyes quite well.
"You called for me, milord?"
She asked in a respectful tone.
I wonder who this youth is for the king to tell us to obey him unconditionally and treat his words as the words of the king himself.
The maid wondered to herself.
Still, it didn't show in her face.
On the other hand, Serra felt a bit troubled.
So Lucas gave such orders? Well, it can't be helped but still... I'm not really fond of this kind of treatment... Also, maids nowadays are quite professional. Her thoughts aren't showing at her face at all... The maids back in the day weren't this good at all... Her cultivation is quite impressive too.

As a supreme expert, reading the thoughts of mortals is a simple matter.
Although this maid was quite a skilled expert as well.
Serra felt troubled at how his descendants worshipped him while impressed at how domestic workers improved their methods and standards.
Of course, it didn't show in his face at all.
For a moment, the two who didn't let their thoughts and emotions stared at one another.
Serra with a gentle smile and the maid with an expressionless face.
"Tell me where Princess Eisel and Meileen are."
The maid bowed.
"They are cultivating at the sacred grounds at present."
"I see. Take me there."
The maid furrowed her brow a bit.
Cultivation at the sacred grounds usually shouldn't be disturbed.
She would caution him if it weren't for the king's orders.
"Please follow me."
She bowed and began to walk gracefully out of the room.
"Oh yes, I forgot to ask something."
The maid stopped walking and turned towards Serra.
"What's your name?"
The maid was silent for a moment.
"It's Cordelia, milord."
Inside the Sacred Grounds.
The Sacred Grounds was large underground chamber.
The elemental essence of water and ice here was very high.
There were many experts of the Recquir Empire cultivating in silence.
Within the center, the place with the highest quality of elemental essense, were two girls.
Eisel and Meileen Recquir.
"This is where they are, milord."
The maid respectfully bowed towards Serra.
"Good work."
Serra gazed at the two training seriously.
Eisel, the graceful and elegant princess was cultivating letting no expressions show on her face as she gathered elemental essence and refined it.
Meileen, the mischievous princess was the same and was sitting beside her.
Looking at them, they truly were twins.
If they showed the same expression while cultivating, their aura's match.

Making it difficult to determine which princess is Eisel and which is Meileen.
But for Serra, he can peer at their souls and determine their identities easily.
It would be inappropriate for him to disturb them right now.
So, Serra sent out mental messages towards their minds directly.
Passing out information and words.
Eisel, Meileen heed my words. Cultivation is like sailing the rough seas. Be steady and cultivate at a steady pace. Here are some techniques to absorb elemental essense much more smoothly. And some techniques I once practiced and developed in the past. Continue your cultivation.
There was change in the expressions of both princesses.
A large amount of information detailing high-level cultivation techniques and combat techniques flowed into their minds and they instantly memorized them.
They simultaneously opened their eyes and gazed at the youth in front of them.
Serra smiled lightly and signalled them to stay quiet.
"Let's go."
Serra began to walk away.
How strange. He's not even going to say hello or cultivate? This is the Sacred Grounds! What a strange senior. He must be some supreme expert who hides his true appearance. That or some eccentric weirdo.
As usual, the maid Cordelia didn't show her feelings in her face but Serra clearly heard her thoughs.
...I'm not really fond of being called a weirdo but I suppose it looks that way to others doesn't it...
Serra was slightly depressed, but as expected, it didn't show in his face.
In a way, this was truly a weird pair.

Live by the Sword
--Follow a bandit prone to making poor choices in life. He lives in a somewhat medieval age where steel is king, blood is shed fairly lightly, and weakness gets you punished fast. But that's okay. As long as he has his sword, he'll be fine. Right? --This story is tragic and contains some depictions of violence and nudity. The attitudes of the characters don't represent my views and some of them are highly questionable. Due to these reasons, I've flagged the story as adult content. --I've been working on Live by the Sword since as far back as 2012 and it is my first actual effort at completing a book. Maybe I'll stick with it and there will be paperbacks of it some day. Who knows. Either way, I hope the words I tell give you amusement and perhaps some cause to think. Cheers.
