《Winter Sovereign》Chapter 23: Human Race

"So, respected senior, what do mean you're responsible for everything?"
"Exactly as it sounds. I'm the one who spoke to the Demon Lord and asked him to withdraw his armies and end the war in exchange for my tutelage."
The leaders of the human race began to protest.
"But, senior, if the war ends, how will we deal with the population?"
"Indeed. Furthermore, why would we need to deal with the Demon Lord with peace?"
"Humans will always be superior to others!"
Their opinions were indeed valid.
"I understand where you're all coming from, but that kind of thinking is too naroow and unfitting for a cultivator. In other worlds, there are worlds where demonic beasts and humans live together in harmony and there are indeed demonic beasts who became supreme experts who eventually journeyed towards the Higher Planes."
These words calmed them down but they were still reluctant.
"Indeed... There demonic beasts are as intelligent as humans and can be reasoned with but still..."
"Not to worry, I intend to stay here for a long time unless I leave for some momentary business, but I intend to make this place my residence. The Demon Lord would never dare to attack so long as I remain here."
This removed the suspicion and doubt they have.
With someone as powerful and immortal as this great senior, they truly have nothing to fear.
"Aside from my continent, I intend to bring back the other continents. It shall be ruled by both Demonic Beasts and by Humans. You all best begin preparations."
Afterwards, Serra began to explain his next plans to benefit the Human Race and the Demonic Beasts.
Serra didn't show mercy towards the Demonic Beasts due to benevolence. He had many friends and disciples who were originally Demonic Beasts such as Syrene. He had no bias towards them and he didn't have strong racial feelings towards the human race as a whole.
This combination of factors led him to spare them his power.
After all, they're still living beings trying to live in this world just like them. There's no need for any biased decisions that are narrow minded.
Furthermore, they should help strengthen the prowess of this world as a whole.

El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.

New Escape
In a world not that unlike the present exists a fantastic technology to transfer one's consciousness into a game. A new frontier for video games has been opened, and my first experience in this world is an rpg. An escape from monotony and school has led me to experience a brand new world.(I originally lost my motivation for this story and kinda wanted to kill it, but I brought it into this world so I will fix it. I'll probably re-write the first chapters and include a more compelling story. Didn't really write the story for people to read in the first place and after I put it on here I stopped caring, but I am changed!(not too much but just a little))
