《Re:Asura》Chapter 6: Twist of Fate

"Doerba!" a voice boomed out from the Blood Devil Residence. Doerba, who was just doing his everyday chores had finally heard his lord's voice after a full twelve years!
"Your servant Doerba is here!" Doerba put down his broom and wrapped his fists and bowed towards the Blood Devil Residence. At the same time, the iron doors swung open and a red-robed man stepped out. "Tell the Elders to meet at the Peaceful Hall. It is an emergency." Shane instructed Doerba, his voice filled with urgency.
"That son of a bitch Varcas..." Shane muttered.
"Hut! Huuuahhh!" Asura screamed. After his spars with Yong, he would sometimes find ways to counter Yong's attacks, or counter his counters. "If I release a burst of mana at Yong's legs, he will definitely shift his guard to his legs..." Asura started simulating his next spar with Yong in his mind. Suddenly....
"Cawww!" a giant Three-Legged Crow landed outside of Asura's pavilion. The Three-Legged Crow that was picked up by Shane had transformed into a monolithic avian over the years. Shane did not bother giving it a name, so Asura decided to call it 'Sanzu'.
Sanzu cawed at Asura, ruffling its feathers. Over the years, Sanzu had developed an intimate friendship with Asura, as they had been together ever since Shane picked them up. Four years ago when Sanzu was already big enough for Asura to climb onto it, Sanzu would let Asura ride on its back and fly around the surrounding valleys.
"This Sanzu has gotten bigger again. What on earth does he eat?" Asura chuckled to himself. Asura got up from his sitting position, and climbed out from the windows and got onto Sanzu's back in a flash.
"Sanzu, let's go!" Sanzu cawed loudly in reply, and flapped its black wings before ascending towards the skies.

At the Peaceful Hall....
"Clang!" a clay cup shattered upon being thrown on the floor. "Outrageous! I, Elder Poong have never seen such an unreasonable person!" a white haired old man shouted. He had a white beard that was smooth and reached his waist.
Angrily stroking his beard, he looked at Shane. "Lord Shane, what should we do? If we don't take action, the Kingdom of Blackfire will forcibly disband out school!" Poong was already on the verge of tears. He was so mad that he had wanted to pick up his walking stick and march towards the imperial palace.
"Calm down. There are many friends of Varcas working for the King. If we unnecessarily offend the nobles, even I will have a difficult time..." Shane replied to Poong. Even though he appeared calm, he too, was also about to explode from the indignation.
"But if worse comes to worst. we will have to transport our disciples to my old villa. Elder Moba, start preparing the Mass Teleport Spell immediately, just to be safe," Shane instructed.
"Yes, Lord Shane" a short middle aged man with a pot belly answered back. He wobbled out of the Peaceful Hall to prepare the Mass Teleport Spell.
If there was no one that knew him, all they would see was a weak looking middle aged man that had digestion problems. However, the Elders in the Peaceful Hall all knew not to mess with him. In fact, he was actually an Arch Magus!
"Lord Shane, do you have any solutions? That bastard Coran, feeding the King with lies!" Poong was already starting to stamp his feed on the marble floor. "Cease your pathetic display, Poong! You're an Elder, you must remain calm and hold yourself with dignity!" Shane glared at Poong.

"As long as I am around, I will not let Coran have his way! The secret arts of White Serenity School must never fall into his hands!" Shane reminded the Elders of the importance of the secret arts. Every School has its own secret arts. They're commonly mana techniques or training manuals, instructing the reader on how to effectively train his body and mana.
"Coran must be after the 'Thousand Essences Absorption Skill!" Poong exclaimed, his eyes bloodshot with rage. In the Peaceful Hall room, except for Elder Moba who went to prepare the Mass Teleportation Spell, the other 3 Elders that were present couldnt help but look at each other, their frustration visible on their faces.
Among the secret arts of White Serene School, the Thousand Essences Absorption Skill was a legendary skill that only the School Leader could learn!
Shane, having been the best disciple in his generation, inherited the title of School Leader and had learnt the Thousand Essences Absorption Skill. What that could have taken him to reach the 8th level from the 7th level was originally 50 years, was reduced to a dozen years!
"Hmph!" Shane was furious, and decided to end the meeting for now, and to get ready to 'greet' Coran.
Meanwhile......
"Swoooshhhh!" Sanzu and Asura soared above the valleys, relishing in the pleasure of the air whooshing against them.
"Sanzu, slow down!" Asura was enjoying the scenery when he noticed 'ants' going towards the hill that his White Serenity School was located at. Focusing mana into his eyes, Asura's range of vision was several times better than an eagle's.
"It's an army!"
Asura quickly realized that the 'ant's were actually humans wearing steel armor and cloth robes. Most of the infantries seemed to be 2nd level warriors, but who knows what the commander's levels were?
"Sanzu, let's go back, I have to tell Mother!"
Back at Blood Devil Residence....
"Doerba,,," Shane's weary voice rang out from the iron doors. There was no reply. "Where has that Doerba gone off too? I hope he didn't get into trouble." Shane had wanted to tell Doerba to take some of the most powerful and talented disciples to flee, but it seems that Doerba had disappeared off to somewhere.
"Caaww!" a huge gust of wind came forth from outside Blood Devil's Residence. Sanzu and Asura had returned. Asura was about to run off to find his mother when Shane's voice rang out from within Asura's mind. "Asura, come find me. Immediately!"
"Huh? Did Lord Shane already find out about the army?" Asura wondered if Shane had already discovered the approaching army. "Creeakkkkk...." the iron doors of Blood Devil Residence ominously opened. Just a millisecond after Asura had stepped in, the iron doors immediately shut!
