V2 Chapter 171
"Still, this place is really a beautiful place!"
There were no constructions within, but it still had some natural and muddy hovels found here. It seemed as if this place had been made by the heavens. In fact, this place was extremely shocking and amazing!
A burst of faint and wonderful scent was coming from flowers hidden at a distance. This scent hit Cian’s nose, and he couldn't help but eagerly stretch his neck to breathe it in. He suddenly felt a burst of extreme comfort, and his spirits rose up. He followed the scent and hadn't gone far when he saw something.
Cian looked towards the river bank and saw something, in small and lithe figure lying on a huge rock by the riverside. Its body was slender, thin but not long. It has no feet or limbs—it was a snake. However, its size was just barely half a meter in length, sprawling on top of the rock. The rock was dyed red as fresh red blood was flowing out from beneath the body.
A snake…
It’s the most normal-sized snake he had seen after a long time. Thus, it caught his attention. Not giant snake, nor monstrous serpent… but a beautiful snake with silvery-white scales. Its silver scales gave-off a very comfortable feeling and looked very elegant as well. In fact, compared to the serpents he had seen in this world, up until now, it looks extremely cute. Was it a small snakelet?
Curious about it, Cian started walking towards it and saw that besides its grievous wounds, there was a silver-colored snakeskin beside it. Did it shed its skin?
When Cian arrived in front of it, as if sensing his presence, the frail thing turned around and looked at Cian. However, its eyes didn't display a single trace of fear. It merely turned to look at him with eyes that were filled with tranquility, clarity, and even an indescribable sense of arrogance…
“Ho?”
These eyes are not the eyes of a dying beast…or an animal.
However, what’s this? I can’t read its mind. Cian furrowed his brows. Either the snake has a high mental defense he still couldn’t breakthrough, or that the snake’s mind was clean and empty—treating him with absolute indifference. Ho…?
Cian was suddenly curious.
Then, the tiny creature seemed to have resigned to something and lowered its head. It had suddenly gone so quiet that it seemed as if life and death had no meaning in its eyes anymore. However, that small body was curled-up so helplessly, its tiny body trembling from time to time, and the sight of it could evoke a strong feeling of tenderness in one's heart.
Cian held nothing against animals. But, his temperament had never been of a man who'd be fond of pets. He didn't exactly like or dislike dogs and cats. In fact, when he was a child, his mother had bought him a dog, which he loved and cared so much, every night it sleep with him. Every day was a bright day… however, that day didn’t last long. His father came and ordered him to kill it—Cian was scared and terrified, at the same time, he was confused why?
‘Killing someone precious to you will awaken your true self. Our Family has special powers, only awakened by the trauma suffered from witnessing the death of someone close to us—since we can’t kill your sister, which was the closest to you, you can kill it…!’ saying that, Cian immediately realized that time, that his mother didn’t give him the dog with good intentions, instead, it was an act of an alternative.

They waited for him to come close and open his heart, only to let him kill it in the end…
It was cruel…
Horrifying to say the least.!
Since then, Cian never likes to have animals with him, nor did he even care about them. Pet for him was not something that could bestow grand happiness, but an awakening of cruel memories.
Cian was not fond of adopting animals and beasts, but, for some strange reason, he suddenly felt a strong urge to protect the little creature that lay in front of him. Even if it was a snake—recalling the fact that he seemed to always encounter giant serpents, it seems like he really did have some fate with them…
He smiled wryly.
This is unusual for me...
"Hey, little one… which idiot bullied you this much?" he asked in a rare gentle voice. Then, he crouched down and softly sat on the ground while looking at the tiny beast.
The little thing lowered its head indifferently. It seemed uninterested. It wasn't clear whether it couldn't understand the words the Second Demon Prince had spoken… or had simply ignored them from the start…
In fact, when one looks closely, it was rolling its eyes—it was pretty cute. Cian who was watching this creature's lazy and adorable mannerism, seemingly not caring about the injuries in its body couldn’t help but raise his impression on it. Though, perhaps because of its grave injuries, it barely moves at all.
But what’s wrong with these wounds?
Cian’s hand reached out, tracing the wounds with his finger. Feeling his touch, the cute snake’s head turned around and glared at him, hissing dangerously but perhaps it’s body was paralyzed it cannot move. Hence, it can only glare threateningly at him.
“Don’t worry, I’m not so low I’m going to bully a dying little snake,” Cian smiled faintly while gently stroking the snake’s head. The snake seemed to not understand or it just that it didn’t trust him as it continued to display a threatening gesture, which, he hardly cared about. His attention was on its wounds… how terrible…
It should be done by another monster—these claw wounds, and there’s even poison on it. The poison is so strong, this snake cannot completely expel it, hence it’s corroding its body. However, what made Cian even more confused and surprise was the fact that this little snake was actually able to endure it? If it was a normal magical beast, they would have been dead by now, no matter how resilient of poisons they are.
After all, this is not a normal poison—this is a Curse—Life Draining Poison…!
It’s a high-level Corpse Poison. But this kind of Poison was only used by high-level undead! How can such a monster appear in this place, and even attack this small animal…? Cian wondered.
I had never seen such fierce vitality before.
Then, under the shocking gaze of the small snake, which its eyes totally rounded, Cian suddenly leaned down and licked its wounds, scooping out a disgusting dark-purple goo that was oozing out from its wounds—what is this man doing?! He, he’s actually licking her so pervertedly?! This lecherous bastard!! I’ll kill him!! I’ll surely kill him!!
The small snake felt its little head exploded, and its entire head even turned crimson red in shame. However, because of the toxin it still cannot move, and all its powers were focused to suppress the toxin and expel it from her body. And yet this man… this beast-man with a horn was actually molesting it?!

This had far too gone to endure!
She didn’t care about this man even though he seemed not simple due to his aura and appearance that looks like a Fox Beastman, because she can kill him with a swat of her hand. However, she forgets her current condition which was actually rather bad!
The creature was motionless, but its body had become stiff.
Her half-awake eyes suddenly turned into fear and anxiety.
She can’t move! She’s too weak right now!!
“Filthy man! You are seeking death!” Her eyes revealed the anger of a woman. She wanted to scream and curse at Cian, but too bad, she was merely a small snake. The scream had turned into *hiss* *hiss* and *sha* *sha*- the weak cry of a snake.
“Guhhh!!?” Cian winced, his brows furrowed. If he didn’t [Venomous Blood], just a tiny bit of the poisoned blood would have immobilized him in an instant, and slowly kill him. However, his [Venomous Blood] was displaying its value as the pain slowly receded. Because of this, Cian was able to continue, and even the pain he experienced slowly decreased.
[Consuming high-grade poison. [Poison Blood] has been enhanced!]
There it goes again, the strange Voice of the World. This kind of moment really makes Cian felt as if he was in a Game. Though he didn’t know what it was, or where it came from, he started to not care about it. After spending such a long time in this world, the fact that he didn’t get how it worked now didn’t surprise him. Even Gods and Goddess existed…
And besides, since those guys leveled up, perhaps they too can hear this voice…?
[[Inhibit Regeneration Poison] has been successfully plundered!]
[[Epidemic Poison] has been successfully plundered!]
However, every time he hears it, it makes him extremely excited. Still, to get three scary abilities, as I thought, this poison is really terrible. The monster that created this must be an existence closer to a Monster King. Poor snake, it must have been attacked indiscriminately, after all, Undead was infamous for being a jerk towards the living. They hated living beings and even want to make everything into an undead.
Still, it’s strange… on the way to this place, there is no sign of any Undead creature…
Well, whatever…
Cian shrug his shoulders and continued to suck all the poison on the small snake, completely ignorant about the raging wrath and shame of the small snake. It turned to him with a threatening eye expression, but the murderous intent in her eyes wasn’t captured by the Demon Prince.
He was a human, he couldn’t understand the meaning of *Sha* *Sha* made by the little beast.
He naturally felt happy when he saw that the little sable a little snake seemed to be more energetic than before. After sucking every poison he could, he then scooped its little body and slowly circulated magical power, while also slowly helping it to recover from its grave injuries using [Life Channeling] Spell. He was trying to channel some magical energy into its body, using his own. Though little, it was not an issue, after all, he was a Demon Prince, as well as his own powers, his vitality was stronger than most in this world.
And besides, he can slowly recover his lost vitality with rest.
However, this was still a miraculous event coming from Cian. After all, even the loyal Manticore didn’t have an opportunity to receive his incredible and unique life force. When the snake slowly wriggled, as if struggling and even bit into his arm as some sort of retaliation, Cian still ignored its minuscule attack and felt it was just a dog’s bite. With his current strength and defense, he had already bid farewell to this previous and slightly weaker body from before with his new Demonic Fox Inheritance. His body had washed out most of its filth done by Aanuel.
“Don’t move, your injuries aren’t recovered yet,” Cian warned, not minding the little toxin coming from it. “I know you're scared, little thing! Don't worry; I'm a good man… a very good man.”
A good man…?
This was the first time that Cian had called himself a 'good man' in the combined time frame of his two lives so far…
However, he was truly a good man in this little snake creature's eyes…
He circled his aura around the little creature he now held in his arms and inspected it for a bit. However, there was something Cian hadn't come to notice. He had held the creature for barely a second when its eyes had narrowed into a slit, slight surprised. In fact, a sharp glint had arisen from the depths of its eyes. But, it then sensed the wonderful magical power that was coming from the Demon Prince Cian’s body.
With a hint of Pure Nature power of an Elf, the terrifying vitality of a Demon, and lastly, the strange but full of magic power blood by the ten-tailed Fox, Cian’s blood and life force was beyond anything the small snake had seen. What kind of monster is this man?
Although it was confident that it would survive even without Cian’s help, it would take quite a long time, and might even overlook some hidden danger that would become a terrible problem in the future. But with the help of this kind of life-force, the small snake would be able to recover much faster, and in fact, perhaps would even enhance its strength even more after its full recovery!
That’s just how magical Cian’s magical power and Life-force was!
The small snake stopped biting Cian’s arm and then stared blankly at him for a second. In fact, it looked extremely confused at first. But, it slowly closed its eyes shut soon after.
