《Flame-Eyed Immortal》Chapter 14

For the purposes of THIS novel, Meridians DO NOT exist. They are interpreted as a lack of knowledge for science. This means that it is an ancient technique in comparison to modern medicine. Thus I am not writing that I claim whether they exist or do not exist. This is for fantasy purpose alone xD
I only say this to avoid offending people~!~
Well enjoy!
Owen continued to stare at his teacher and didn’t make a comment on his words. Owen knew he was being praised, he also knew that his master must have been lonely in the millions of years he waited. But Owen couldn’t wrap his head around such a concept. Thus he decided to not voice anything. He was looking straight at Kovinth as he didn’t know what else to do with his eyes. He felt awkward with them. He almost unconsciously closed his eyes because it would be harder for him to get used to being blind again. But Kovinth didn’t allow him too as he raised his hand to quickly stop him.
“Boy, how can I not know what you’re thinking? Take this chance to learn everything you can. The more you learn the better.”
“Yes master.”
Owen replied quickly learning no time for Kovinth to even catch his breath. But he didn’t mind and soon got up gesturing for Owen to follow him.
Now that Kovinth wasn’t looking at him, Owen’s eyes started to wonder. He realized he was inside a room, but the walls were made of stone. There were no decorations, and other than the chair a candle and the bed there was simply nothing else. Although he noticed the candle earlier he was after all still talking with his master and wouldn’t dare to be so disrespectful as to look around. But not that he had a chance, he couldn’t help but think it was entirely beautiful watching the flame dance around. At least he assumed that this was a so called flame. As he waved his hand over the candle to double check. Sure enough it was a flame just like he thought. It was hard to describe while he was blind but now that he saw it, it was way off from what he originally had thought of.

Owen couldn’t help but think a flame was a cloud like substance that was emitted from lighting something aflame. But even while surprised, he didn’t linger long enough for Kovinth to call him. In fact Kovinth purposely slowed his steps in order for Owen to get a good look around. He was curious, and because of that reason alone Kovinth wasn’t willing to stop him. After all curiosity is what leads to success. Or death, that happens as well, but Kovnith just shrugged. Future problems were problems for the future!
As Owen followed after Kovinth entering into a giant clearing he saw 1 giant crater, and 2 filled craters. The empty crater naturally didn’t have anything inside of it. The other, Owen could guess was water from the scent. The other was a mud like substance but he couldn’t smell the regular mud after rainfall from it and could only assume it was something similar. As Kovinth approached the empty crater and turned around to face Owen.
“First, we need to get you to learn how to breathe.”
“Master I can breathe just fine.”
“From the fact that you’re alive right now that was clear. Thank you disciple.”
“You’re welcome Master.”
‘Smart brat.’
Is what Kovinth thought but decided not to voice it. He knew that Owen was a clever boy and realized he wasn’t talking about breathing in air but something else entirely. Kovinth then gestured for Owen to come closer. Following his teacher's gesture Owen arrived in front of him.
“Owen, I have forcefully imparted Essence of the Solar Eyes to you. But that doesn’t mean that you can all of a sudden practice it. To walk on the Path, everyone must learn to absorb the world’s Essence for themselves. In the multiverse it is known as many things, only the lesser planets call it things such as Mana, or Qi. Where I am from we call it Essence. There’s no need to differentiate between them, as they all mean the same thing. As such, Essence for a Pathwalker is what gives you energy and what makes you stronger.”

As he voiced the words stronger Kovinth gave Owen a deep look. Owen met with his gaze and understood immediately. Kovinth was telling him, that his Path started here. If he wanted to be able to see again, it was gathering Essence that truly mattered. Seeing that Owen understood while holding a blank face, Kovinth only smiled and continued.
“That is only the first part. The next part is fusing the Essence into your blood.”
At this Owen titled his head in confusion. What did blood have to do with anything?
“Haha! Looks like your world is truly ignorant on the ways of science. However, do not worry, I will teach you the secrets behind your body. For now just take my words as truth. As the blood absorbs the Essence, it will give its energy to your muscles. In turn this will cause them to strengthen.”
“Is what you’re describing Meridians Master?”
Kovinth smirked at this remark. He knew that this world had a very ancient way of thinking when it came to medicine. However that was fine too, if he taught his disciple properly he would have a much better chance than the rest of the Pathwalkers on this planet. He then shook his head and continued.
“No, while it’s fine to think of them as a similar structure. They are not the same thing. What allows the blood to flow through the body from the heart, is what we call arteries. This will allow all the blood filled with Essence to travel through the body. When the Essence is all used it, it will travel back through what we call veins. You see those blue lines on your body? Those are called veins. As for the arteries, you can not see them, but you can feel them.”
As he said that he lifted Owen’s hand and placed it on top of his wrist. He only applied a little bit of pressure and Owen was able to feel a ba-dump motion. Owen never thought to ever try this so he was momentarily surprised considering it was his own body. He immediately realized it was the same feeling as his heartbeat that he could feel from his chest. And when Kovinth removed his hand, Owen brought his head to his chest to feel the similar feeling. Kovinth nodded lightly impressed and spoke up.
“That’s right. Your heart connects all of your arteries so naturally you can feel the same sensation through your arteries. Come enough of that, you will find out more of that later. For now jump into this crater.”
As Kovinth pointed to the crater Owen immediately walked over.

Criminal Lord
Terry Isenburg, the greatest assassin who killed thousands of powerful officials and even led an army of people to reform the world had finally killed his final target after many years of suffering and effort. Changing the world was in sight. Until he was betrayed... Although, even in the abyss of death, two choices were placed before Terry. Enter the Trial or Hell? Watch how the man who nearly took over the world now attempts to take over a world of sword, monster, magic, and one hella strong tarantula... I made this story because I always wanted a dark fantasy isekai with a hella fine backstory rather than an idiot being run over as well as having sustainable, epic scenes with a badass main character. All of which I believe my story has. (Although I'm bad at managing levels and experience and I have little imagery since I hate imagery) One other thing, the first volume may be kinda boring/repetitive but I can guarantee loads of badass action in volume 2 so please stick around. (I would also appreciate the views) If you like or dislike the story, please write a comment or review about this story to help me improve, but please don't hate on the story without explaining why. I also hope that you readers share the story to give me more support. Thanks and I hope you enjoy the story. [The cover is something I made poorly but it represents something in chapter 9-10]
