《A Man and His Greatsword》Chapter 16: Demon Lieutenant

When the harem left the Inn, I looked outside and the sky was dark. Jane also noticed it was nighttime and muttered something before grabbing my wrist and dragging me up to our room. She opened the door and threw me inside before locking the door with a mischievous grin. I got up and inched away from Jane while looking at her fearfully. Our eyes met before she pounced on me and we both crashed onto the bed.
Jane forcefully pulled off my clothes and I was fully naked in a few seconds. I stared at her as she undressed and showed her magnificent body. Jane had me pinned down with the strength she showed in the bath back in Krell and all I could do was squirm as she started riding me. She let out moans of pleasure as her hips moved and I laid there, my mind going blank. We were both going crazy from pleasure and our eyes locked.
Jane bent over and started kissing me, our tongues entwining as she kept moving. I was getting close to climaxing and Jane was too. She looked at me with coy eyes and grappled me. I tried to free myself, but it was no use. We both climaxed and I let it all out inside her. I gasped for breath and Jane was laying on top of me, a white liquid leaking from her privates. My eyes widened in shock as we made eye contact and she continued to move her hips.
"I'm going to milk you dry, Michael." She said with a wide grin. I felt fear and constantly tried to escape, but it was no use. She grappled me with all her might and stuffed my face into her cleavage.
I passed out after the twenty-minute mark.
When I woke up, I was sore all over. Jane was sleeping naked peacefully next to me. I looked at the bed and it was a mess. I would have to replace the sheets discreetly. I sat up and got off the bed. I walked into the bathroom and got a pair of combat clothing ready to change into. Heating up the bath, I entered it and relaxed. Even though I was pretty sore, it would clear up in about an hour due to my vitality.
"How'd you like it, Michael?" I heard a playful voice in the room. Jane was standing in the bathroom staring at me bathe.
"I'm so sore, also I passed out after twenty minutes. How long did you go with the unconscious me?" I asked her while rubbing my shoulder.
"Well, I've been holding back for a month and really wanted more after that time in the bath. So maybe another twenty or thirty minutes with your unconscious self." She looked too happy saying that. "I feel so refreshed now." Jane yawned and entered the bath with me. We sat inside and soaked to rid ourselves of the fatigue from last night's session. Mostly my fatigue, Jane seemed unfazed.
I sighed and fifteen minutes passed before I got out. I dried myself with a towel I produced from my inventory and dressed in my combat clothing, which consisted of a short-sleeved tunic and comfortable trousers. I grabbed my armor from my inventory and put it on before turning around. I saw Jane dressing in her gear and I waited for while switching out the bed sheets. I'll probably burn these sheets sometime. We grabbed breakfast and started heading over to the Guild.
Since it would be a more casual day, Jane wanted to pass through the town square and I obliged. That was when we saw a messenger run into the town square.

"Everyone who is an adventurer, report to the Guild straight away! We have a dire situation at hand!" He said this frantically as he scanned the surrounding crowd. His eyes landed on me and Jane.
"You two, hurry! We need strong adventurers like you there immediately!" I nodded and looked at Jane. She returned a determined look and we sped off to the Guild. When we arrived, I felt that the atmosphere was heavy with tension. I heard people whisper things about demons and warp gates. I started getting anxious, but I was calmed down when Jane put her hand on my shoulder. She gave me a concerned look and I gave her a smile. She seemed relieved by it and clung to my arm.
I'd grown a bit in the time I've been in this world. I was now about 6'2 and Jane was 5'9. Naturally, we were pretty easily found in the crowd. I saw a familiar group approaching us. Kudo appeared and asked me a question.
"What do you think is happening, Michael?" Kudo was genuinely confused. I thought he would know since he was a summoned hero. Maybe this was an urgent summon.
"I thought you would know since you're a hero. I guess not. I don't actually know what's happening either, I was told to go here." I looked at the stage ahead of us and a man in his late 40s stood upon it.
"Attention, everyone." The man spoke two words, but those two words managed to make the crowd of adventurers become quiet instantly. He continued after looking around at the crowd. "Maybe you've heard from the criers, but the Demon King is going to attack the capital soon. He has an army ready to go about three kilometers north of here. We're one of the two kingdoms responsible for holding him off, after all. We'll be clashing with the army to drive them off."
He looked at me and Jane as soon as he finished his sentence. "Both of you, you're close to being AA-ranked adventurers. Am I right?" I did level up a bit recently. I was at the level of an AA-rank adventurer or close to it at least. It looked like Jane was too. I nodded quickly since I was intimidated by the Guildmaster. "Good, both of you will lead the charge with me. Got it?" I nodded furiously. Seriously, this man was scary.
"Alright! We'll meet up at the northern gate in three hours! Get prepared and we'll move out!" The Guildmaster walked off to the side after saying that. I looked at Jane and nodded to her with a determined look. Jane and I didn't need to prepare since we were always adequately supplied by our inventories.
A noble wearing expensive armor and a flashy spear on his back approached me.
"So you're the second in command?" He asked. He had orange hair, and his armor was made to be a balance of mobility and protection. The immobile parts of his body like his chest had plate metal covering them, while his joints were covered by a flexible material.
"Yeah, I'm Michael. Your name is?" I politely responded. Maybe he was a nice noble.
"I'm Lance." He reached out and shook my hand. I see where his name came from too. "I'll be working with you. You look pretty strong, keep the others safe out there. Alright?" He gave a genuine smile with that.
"Yeah, I'll try. You look pretty strong yourself. What's your spear made of?" I asked with a hint of curiosity.

"It's made entirely of Mithril. Some parts have been lined with gold for that flashy look. Your weapon looks just as good, mind telling me what it's made of?" He asked the same question back to me.
"The blade's edge is made of adamantium. The core of the blade is steel and the handle is made of a special alloy." I explained to him.
"That's good and all, but you wield that thing with one hand?" He was perplexed that someone wielded such a large blade with one hand.
"Yeah, I wielded it with one arm before I got this." I waved my prosthetic in front of his face.
"No wonder. Well, I'll see you guys in three hours. I gotta go buy some things." He waved goodbye and left. Jane and I decided to just kill time by talking with the harem about things from back home. Once the three hours passed, all the adventurers were assembled at the north gate.
We set out to the army's location. It took a few hours, but we made it onto a plain. The only problem was, there was no sign of them. I looked around before I saw them in the distance approaching us.The demons were basically humans with horns and dark skin. Their mages had runes on parts of their bodies. That was when the magic flew. The adventurers threw magic at the demons and they responded in kind. I summoned some ice spears using my Mithril arm and launched them at the enemy.
The spears effortlessly pierced through the grunts and impaled multiple at once. I couldn't help but gag when I saw them pinned to the ground by icy spears. Once they got into melee range, all hell broke loose. We charged right into the midst of them. I looked at my sides and saw Lance to my left. Deciding that two was better than one, I slaughtered my way over to Lance and we fought back to back. I killed them in many different ways, and I felt small pangs of guilt every time I killed one of these human-like demons. We covered each other as both of us cut through the demons that surrounded us. I thought we could hold out.
Until she showed up.
I heard a thud behind me as Lance was knocked unconscious with a blow to the head. I turned around but I felt a force hit my sword away to the side. I saw a woman that was scantily clad, with a body every man would lust for. I resisted the urge rising in me when I locked eyes with her. Cold sweat was forming on my forehead, she was above my league. I guessed that her stats were probably at AAA-rank.
"Oh? How interesting. Usually, my stare would make men go crazy. I wonder how you resisted. No matter, you're lucky to meet a demon lieutenant anyways." She had a seductive tone in her voice and licked her lips while staring at me.
I was unnerved and she charged forward at me. I raised my hands up in defense and she took hold of them. I was locked in a grapple with her and both of us were in a stalemate. My strength was on par with hers and I tried to break free, only for her grip to become stronger. I couldn't escape and she started pushing me back. Strangely, all the demons weren't attacking and avoided us like the plague. Even Lance was unharmed.
I had to break her grip somehow. An idea popped into my head and I decided to try it. Stealthily preparing a kick, I kneed her in the stomach. She wasn't prepared for it and flinched, causing her grip to weaken enough for me to escape it. I dashed to the side and grabbed my sword. Resting it on my shoulder, I got into a combat stance while observing her.
"I didn't expect you to do that. Looks like you managed to get your weapon back, I'll have to get serious now." She summoned an icy blue shortsword that seemed to emit frost into the air. Dashing forward with incredible speed, I barely managed to block her sword before she punched me right in the gut. I was pushed back a good couple of feet and resisted the urge to puke my guts out. My armor had a new dent in it now.
I charged at her and feinted a downward chop, turning it into a stab at her midsection. She was caught off guard and barely dodged to the side. The stab grazed her side and made a large gash. I overswung since she dodged, however. I got punished since I wasn't able to recover in time and she kicked me in the side, which knocked me to the ground. I coughed up some blood and a trail of it leaked out of my mouth.
The succubus pinned me down and stabbed me in the shoulder, which caused me to scream in pain. A punch came from the side and knocked the succubus aside. I looked over and saw Lance bleeding from his head. I quickly extended my arm-blade and tried to stab her, only for her to roll away and get back up. She gave us a venomous stare and dashed for me. I expected a swing from her sword, only to be met by another kick to my chest.
I was forced back to the ground, coughing up mouthfuls of blood. While painfully getting up, I saw Lance trying to fight her. He was being overwhelmed by the succubus's speed and was slowly succumbing to smaller wounds. I rushed over and swung at her, making her dodge backward. Lance and I stood shoulder to shoulder, breathing heavily.
We were covered in wounds and bleeding all over. Seeing our condition, the succubus licked her lips and dashed at us again. This time, she went for Lance. When she swung, he blocked the attack with the shaft of his spear and I stabbed at her. She blocked the blade but got caught off guard when I tried to stab her with my mithril arm-blade. The blade sank into her side, but she used this opportunity to trade a blow and stabbed me in the side too.
Lance stabbed at her with his spear which made her dodge backward. I fell to my knees and grasped at the new wound on my side. My agony was being converted to anger. Anger at everything that threatened me. This anger surpassed what I could control and Blind Rage had been activated. Grabbing my sword, I slowly sealed off the pain as I rushed at the Succubus with new vigor. I swung with all my might and she barely managed to parry it. I was focused and made another swing right at her side, the side I grazed. My greatsword cut deep into her midsection and I ripped it out of her torso.
The succubus fell to her knees in pain and looked up at me with a pleading face.
"Mercy..." She said with a tear-filled face. I became even angrier. Someone that loved torturing people weaker than her begged for mercy? She was an enemy, and I would treat her like one.
"There is no mercy for someone like you." I said with a deathly cold tone. I swiftly drove the greatsword through the back of her neck, beheading her.
Once I executed the succubus, I felt my anger leave me. What replaced the anger was the pain. Nerve-wracking pain. I disregarded the wounds I had when I went berserk and made them even worse. I had a large gash on my shoulder and several broken ribs from being hit twice in the torso. My arm also throbbed with pain. I fell to my knees, barely managing to stay upright using my greatsword. Lance came over and offered his shoulder to me, which I took.
I reached over to pick up the head and raise it high. I looked at Lance and he nodded. Both of us gave the loudest war cry we could.
"RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Both of us yelled out as loud as we could and the demon army turned around. They saw the succubus's head and retreated with fear. They receded like the tide on a beach, leaving many corpses in their wake.
I looked around and saw corpses upon corpses. Some were bisected, beheaded, gutted. Body parts lay strewn about, both human and demon. I couldn't resist the urge and vomited while falling to my knees. I emptied my stomach and wondered if this was really worth it. Gritting my teeth, I steeled my mind and thought of this as normal. Maybe it would make this less gruesome for me. I was only human after all.
Limping back to the surviving adventurers, Lance and I collapsed onto the ground. Both of us were in horrible condition. Lance was bleeding from his head since he took a hit from his blind spot and suffered some internal injuries similar to mine. I felt someone shaking me as I lost consciousness.
When I came to, we were in the Guild infirmary. I was feeling sluggish from going berserk. I realized we weren't wearing our armor. Our gear was on separate tables located on a side of the room. Lance himself was laying on a bed next to me and was still unconscious. I tried sitting up and felt that my wounds were gone. Even my broken bones were mended. Healing magic was literally a miracle. I saw Lance sit up in his bed and scratch his head. He looked over at me and looked like he remembered something and reached for something on a table next to him.
I was presented with a familiar icy blue shortsword.
Iglis, the Frozen Sword Damage: 345 Durability: 172/172 A shortsword made from Mithril and imbued with an ice element. It was created for the Demon Lieutenant Julia and given to Michael Adkins upon her death.
Unfortunately, I couldn't learn the mastery for shortswords, but maybe I could learn a different mastery that would help me quite a bit. I got up and placed the sword on my belt. I helped Lance up while three people entered the room. Jane, another woman, and the Guildmaster entered the room.
Jane rushed over and hugged me while the other woman hugged Lance. The Guildmaster had scratches and dents all over his armor. Seems like he took quite a beating too.
"Nice work, you two. Looks like you killed Julia. I would've been done in if you didn't distract her for that long. I took out their commander while you guys were getting beaten up, though I could say the same about my fight." He chuckled after saying that. "Keep up the good work." He said this simple sentence before leaving the room. I looked over at Lance and his girl.
"Wanna do requests together sometime?" I asked him.
"Sure. We work well together. I'd love to do requests with the both of you." Lance agreed with almost no hesitation. After going through a battle like that, both of us had a large amount of trust in the other. Lance looked down at the girl in his arms. "This girl here is Rose. She's a combat healer and a damn good one at that." Rose turned around and waved at us. I introduced myself and Jane to her.
"Well, I'm Michael Adkins and this lovely fox-girl here is Jane. I got beat up along with Lance." I gestured to Lance.
"I can tell. Both of you were heavily injured and it took about six hours of healing to completely get rid of your wounds. Especially you, Michael. You were being continuously damaged by the ice element from that shortsword." Rose explained how bad our wounds were. Rose was a woman of average height but was just as beautiful as Jane. She had a magnificent body, with flowing red hair and sapphire-like blue eyes. In her hands was a staff that looked like it could be used to cast and bash heads in. The staff itself was made of a light and durable looking wood with a glistening white crystal floating around at the top of the staff.
I went over and checked my gear. I wanted to purchase a new armor set and coat since mine was now out of commission after that battle. The steel part of my sword was damaged and I realized I would need to get a blacksmith to reforge this completely out of Adamantium or risk it breaking against strong foes like that succubus. What was her name? Right, it was Julia.
I stored my gear in my inventory and Lance did the same thing. I looked at him and nodded before Jane and I left the room. Leaving the Guild, Jane and I decided to first pay a visit to Lisa's Blacksmith.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Dead eyes. Lifeless dead eyes stared back at him. Tokoyami Fumikage was looking through a portal. Like a one-sided mirror, everything he sees cannot be seen from the other end. He was held captive by a villain of murderous intent, wearing a sadistic smile. The whole of Class 1A was at the mercy of the villain and Tokoyami had to experience first hand. He was scared to death, scarred for life, but he had to act. This fanfiction shows us the different ways the characters in the story suffers. They all suffered differently. Unfortunately, there will be no major pairings in this story. However, there will be minor fluffs here and there. [Italics = Thoughts Bold = Mostly Dark Shadow's speech (if combined bold and italics, it would be Dark Shadow talking to Tokoyami in his mind.)
