《Transported into another world with a parallel-version of myself》Chapter 9: Preparation

As I pushed the handle down, the door sounded an old creak and started to open. Seeps of light entered its way into this house and while that was happening, my nose began to smell faint traces of that heavenly air from before.
Then, the door fully opened, letting a massive wave of light hit my body. It was neither cold or hot, rather, it was the perfect temperature for a perfect day.
"Too bright," she said, as she covered her face with her hand. Gradually, our eyes adjusted to the light and,
Wow. I never knew the outside world can look so beautiful yet so vibrant at the same time. It looks so similar to the worlds of a fantasy video games and isekai's I've watched before. Everything about the atmosphere in this world just fits into the genre.
All of a sudden, before I could enjoy the view further, she pointed at something from here,
"Look at the houses. They're all destroyed," she said.
She was right. All of them were in ruins. By the looks of it, this village was probably abandoned a long time ago as seen of the variety of plants that were growing on top of the remains of the houses.
That meant... The plan has already failed the moment we opened this door. What a shame.
We thought there would be houses still intact because we didn't see the full view from the window, but after seeing it now.
Both of us heaved a sigh at the same time.
"What are we supposed to do now?" she said.
"This abandoned village is surrounded by the forest and we have no food nor supplies to help us."
She continued.
"...Well, the forest is our only way out of here. But, dangerous creatures might be lurking about."

Even if we continued walking to the forest, we might end up somewhere dangerous and risk losing our lives.
We are literally surrounded by the forest. Any path we take is a gamble. Basically, it was too risky.
But I came up with an idea at the spot.
"Alright, listen to me, I just had an idea" I said to her, "First, we stock up on any sharp rocks or sticks that can act as disposable weapons."
"Do you understand where I'm getting at?"
She heard what I said and seemed to think about it while looking at the ground. After a few seconds, she re-positioned her glasses and looked up to me.
"Ah! I understand what you're trying to do. So, we explore the forest and at the same time, gather materials, and once it turns dark, we return here right? Is that it?"
I looked at her with an approved look.
Once again, she really is me from another parallel world... Just different gender.
