Chapter 14: To Slaughter or Not to Slaughter.
“Kumo-chan, wake up!”
“Onii-san…, welcome back.”
Effortlessly lifting Kumon off her bed, he princess carried her to the dining room.
The aroma of fresh miso soup filled the room. Accompanied with fresh salmon roe, grilled salmon and white rice.
‘Umm smells delicious’ her nose twitch as she looked at the moon and stars beyond the glass door.
And on the counter stood the treasure of the night, Mister Doughnut donuts.
Her eyes sparkles looking at her prey, ready to pounce at a moment’s notice.
“How was Tokyo?”
“Eat your dinner. I was told you slept through dinner again.”
“Too sleepy.”
“In the future, you are going to help me and be responsible to help me manage the company. To do so, you need to eat and be healthy” he said while cutting off some salmon and putting it in Kumon’s bowl.
“CEO Lesson Number 45 is ...?”
“Emotions are a tool to be used not to be controlled by.”
“Number 4 is ...?”
“When one is given a responsibility, one must be ready to carry it. If not, give it to one of the directors.”
“...Onii-san, can’t I just marry you? Like that, I can sleep all day long.”
“Is that what you want?”
“Yup!” She nods while smiling brilliantly.
“Eat. And don’t forget your words today. If you finish your vegetables, then you can get your desert.”
“Umm, ok….” she replied while pouting a bit.
****
“Calm down Mongered, rash decision does not befit you.”
Allina Angelia appeared out of the thin air and took her seat as the fourteenth member of the Council.
This is the iron rule of the Empire management. When there is four, let it be five. When there is thirteen, let it be fourteen. The secret member that will do what needs to be done. In this case, the Empire’s spymaster.

“Brock Allen, Hero of the Seven Star Alliance. He is currently the holder of a higher-tier attribute known as Slavemancer. His power lies on his slave. Under the Seven Star Alliance he had manage to enslave more than thirty million slaves which currently are used by the nobles governing the states. The huge amount was the result of the prosecution of all race except humans in the kingdoms.
By simply putting on a collar of his creation, one will be forced to be his slave. He can also use his ‘curse’ directly if the person is in his line of sight.
Our investigation shows he is a capable Hero. Using the slaves, he provides entertainment and security for the nobbles supporting him in exchange for their support to his cause. To say the least, the current predicament with the Seven Star Alliance was his doing.
In terms of his offense, his main asset lies with his seven slaves. To be the chosen seven, one must survive a rite of passage as proof of their capability. By enslaving the whole clan, the Hero will order every female member to kill each other until the last one survive. The best of them will receive the right to be his ‘companion’.” Allina continued.
“Meaning without counter measures in place, our armies will turn onto each other while he thrust his blades to us.” Sir Saniz Geft
“His skill, is there a way to oppose it?” Antonio
“Being a higher-tier, opposing his skill will require both creativity and flexibility as it will grow with the passing of time.” Allina
“For now, normal contract removal spell works fine with the masses but for the seven blades, there is no plausible counter measure as of yet. Unless they actual come to the Empire and step into the Six Pillar formation, we won’t know the effectiveness of the formation but until then don’t bank on it.” Allina

“Enough, let them play their façade. If they want to die, let them come. I don’t wish to expand the Empire far to the west. In the same time, the arrogance of the West will escalate even further if we let them be.”
This hold true. To pursue the Apex, the Empire need both offense and defense. In front of Armies, Demons and Beast Warriors, the Empire bear fangs to all. They will pursue power as they desired. Enraging warlords and kings. As many they were angered they were far more that were buried. No matter how they felt the might of Empire was never to be underestimated.
For those seeking revenge and send their armies to the Empire soon learned the folly of their decision. The Six Pillar formation was the most famous formation due to a certain beast king but actually was among many of the Empire’s defenses. Imagine having thousands crazy defense enthusiasts continuously competing to create the best defense while in the same time overlapping them with the Ancient Formations.
To allow the offense to develop, the Emperor of the past create a safety barrier around Castile. Positioned in the center of the world and becoming the door that connect East and West. With the passing of time, the Empires land grew and shrink. Yet, the crux of the Empire, the six city encompassing Castile as a hexagon position hold strong.
Once, a million beast men march towards the Empire lead by one named Red King Clifford. A true descendant of Fenrir. They best the Empire force and lead their army to Castile. The Empire wasn’t only blessed with a great strategic location, their land is blessed with fertility and water creating lush greeneries. Hidden inside these forest are rare herbs and plants that is essential for Beast Warriors. Not only that, the size of the plants is bigger than plants found near a volcano. And the quality of these plants were rivaled only to few others in this world. An environment desired by any best men.
Another of the Empire’s blessing is the sheer quantity mana centered in the Empire. Living in the Empire, the body of the lowest level human guard in the Empire are considered at least an Elite. Breathing the mana, conditioned by the pure saturation, the body itself become stronger and increase an individual maximum mana capacity. Unconsciously, the body will produce more mana for the body as the body crave mana itself.
Blinded by greed and temptation, Red King Clifford ignored the old advice. ‘Never march your armies passing the six cities of the Empire’. Using the high vitality and sturdiness of the beast kind, they mount the mountain range, passing the six cities and aimed towards the center. The Empire’s defense was rarely used as centuries would pass before anyone would dare attack the Empire. A million beast warriors and another million beast pets bear their fang. Even then, not one manage to survive the night. Their remains became fertilizers for the land as life in the Empire continue. And so a legacy came to an end.
“Your Highness, since the Humans grew tired of governing the West, how about letting others govern it for them.”

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!
