《The Abyss Gazer》Chapter 1:Hello Darkness,my old friend
Advertisement
It was dark. Completely dark. Not a shred of light to be seen
"So this is the after life, uh? Kind of bland"
Andrew commented while his body was floating in some kind of dark matter.
"I'm really dead.... But i saved Emma, that's the only thing that matters... Still to think that i have to pass the rest of my li...death in this place, it's quite depressing"
"Oh, I'm sorry, is my pocket dimension not to your liking little prince? Do you want some tea filled with rainbows and sunshine? Maybe you even want some light"
A sarcastic and clearly annoyed voice broke the perpetual darkness.
"What th-"
Andrew was surprised, there was someone else there? Well at least he wouldn't feel lonely, even if he was with a sassy asshole.
"Just to inform you, this dimension is completely under my control and as such i can hear everything you think... prick"
Fantastic, another mind reader in his life, because Emma wasn't enough. While he was reminiscing of all the times she beat him when she realized he was ogling another girl, he gave a good look at his new friend. He was tall and unnaturally slim, his skin as black as the dimension they resided in, he wouldn't even have seen him if it wasn't for his round, white eyes, which didn't have pupils nor irises. Now that he was paying attention, the figure in front of him didn't have ears or a nose, not even a mouth. To compensate for those he had a grey, broken halo floating on top of his head. He also wore a vest that covered almost all of his body, decorated with some kind of white runes which were glowing very faintly. His cheekbones were also very prominent, like spikes and his hands fingers looked more like claws than anything.
The figure stopped his train of thought
"Ok, now that you know how sexy i am, let's get down to business. Andrew Tenebris, you are dead"
"I know"
".....Well you just ruined the drama of the moment. Anyway, you died in an incredibly brave manner, and also i like your personality, so i revived you and brought you into my world"
Andrew.exe stopped processing for a moment, does that mean it's like one of those japans novels he liked to read?
"Exactly, my dear friend,i t's like one of those novels. With one difference: you're the protagonist! Celebrations! Yayyyyy!"
Suddenly confetti came out of nowhere. Andrew just stood there, not impressed in the slightest
"You REALLY are ruining this for me. Nevermind, the reason i summoned you here is simple: to become my Champion!"
Andrew was actually surprised this time and his mouth gaped open saying.

"Seriously? Ooook, so what would i have to do as your Champion?"
The figure replied with a devilish grin .
"It's really simple, you have to do only two things: to protect monsters whenever you find them in trouble, as long as they deserve it and...."
His grin grew wider.
KILL EVERY SINGLE HERO YOU FIND IN YOUR WAY
"Wait, what... what are you talking about.. I CAN'T KILL SOMEONE!"
Andrew may have been less empathetic than most people, but he wouldn't kill someone just because he was told to.
"This is not negotiable. But don't worry, when the time comes i will help you. And now let's stop talking about this, so i can explain you how this world works, ok?"
Andrew nodded, terrified by the revelation of the dark side of his benefactor, he thought that if kept complaining or questioning him, he would have died again
"Yes, i would kill you"
He replied to his thoughts with a deep voice, and a strange hint of regret in it.
"I just realized i didn't tell you my name. I am Murgin, the Forgotten God of Darkness, Ruler of the Abyss, the dimension in which you currently reside. I come from the world of Ghendrel, the Abyss is merely my majestic home. As you already probably realized it's one of those "fantasy" worlds you Earthlings seem to love so much. The main characteristic of Ghendrel it's that it's three times as large as Earth, as such there are many races, kingdoms, gods, magic, etc. Still the world is divided into two main factions:The"Light Dwellers"and the "Dark Almighty". They aren't true forces, but indicate the ones who serve the Gods, which are "good", meaning they prefer Order, and the Devils, who instead prefer Chaos. In my case that differentiation doesn't count, since i am a Primordial Elder, but i'll explain that another time.
Quite obviously, the Light Dwellers are mainly formed by humans, elves, dwarves, some beast men tribes and the angels, be particularly careful with them since not only they're stronger than most people ,they're also Mary Sues, so they'll never shut up about Good, Justice and blah, blah. At least some of them are smart enough to stop that bullshit and become Fallen. Also, angels are created by gods and will assume the power and characteristics of their creator, so the angel of a God of Fire can control fire, the angel of a God of Earth controls Earth, that kind of thing. The Dark Almighty are instead formed by monsters, the majority of beastmen and the demons. Demons are not created by the Devils, even if many of them become their servants, but are the race with the most variety in the world, since there are Ice demons, Dark demons, rarely you can even find Light demons. While i don't belong to any of these two forces, you will side with Dark Almighty. Did you get all of that?"

Andrew took a while to reply, since he was still assimilating all the information, he was just starting to understand how amazing this worlds is after all, then he nodded
"Good. Now i will proceed to teleport you into the Kingdom of Kieris, which is regrettably in Light Dwellers territory, but that's the only place which has an Abyssal Altar under my control, so you're gonna have to deal with it. Be careful, they're a country which has strong ties with The Church of the Holy Light, who worships Lux, that CONDESCENDING, GREEDY, SELF-CENTERED BITCH!"
There was an awkward silence for a moment
"Hm,hm..*as i was saying, be careful, since they have a pretty active Inquisition. Any questions?"
Andrew thought for a moment, and realized that he didn't know how to defend himself, but another thing first came to mind
"Aren't you the leader of the Abyss? Why do you have only one Altar?"
Murgin got depressed for a moment but then answered.
"Well....i'm a Forgotten God, meaning that no one worships me and since Gods and Devils take their power from the Faith of the people, i lost most of it. So, even if i created the Abyss, other gods slowly took over it and my Altars, and so i only have one left"
Murgin suddenly turned from depressed to giving off a sadistic smile.
"Oh, but they'll pay, oh, they'll pay greatly, those fuckers"
He began to laugh silently like a madman*
Andrew just ignored him and kept asking
"So, how am i supposed to defend myself?"
Murgin stopped laughing
"Oh, yeah, i was just getting to that, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOX"
"My lord, the preparations are ready"
An old man, dressed like a butler, appeared out of nowhere. He was slim, but not as tall as Murgin, who was unnaturally tall now that Andrew thought about it. His face was the only part of his body not covered by his getup and showed what the boy thought were his main characteristics. His skin was of a dark blue color and his hair and long beard were white like snow and combed very neatly, with his hair going towards the back of his head, like he just had used gel, and his beard completely straight. He didn't have many wrinkles, but those he had only served to accentuate his aura of wisdom. His eyes were of a deep and intense violet color and his nose was quite sharp, he also had black horns that were more or less 30 cm long and seemed to be at an angle of 45 grades, which curved to form an upturned seven which went externally towards the tip.
After finishing the analisy Andrew asked
"Preparations for what? And who are you?"
The man known as Nox replied.
"The preparations to truly turn you into a Champion of Abyss. And i am Nox,t he first of the Night Demon race and loyal servant of Lord Murgin, the Light Eater, the Dark Lord, the Angel Slaughterer, the-"
"Ok, he gets it Nox, i'm a complete badass. Now let's wrap things up"
"As you wish, my lord. Now young master, if you would be so kind as to follow me."
"Young master?"
Andrew replied, for him it was strange to be called that, it's not like he was a noble.
"Well, you were personally chosen by my Lord to represent him, as such your importance is second only to him"
Andrew didn't protest, since he thought it would be useless and followed Nox.
After a while of walking into nothing but blackness, they reached some kind of dark magic circle.
"Please enter the circle young master"
Nox said
"Will it hurt?"
That was Andrew's only worry
"Immensely"
Saying so Nox pushed the boy into the circle. Suddenly it gave off a blinding darkness, making disappear the figure of the butler, and pain entered his body. He began screaming, feeling his body burning, his muscles being ripped apart, and his mind being dismantled and reconstructed like a puzzle. He cursed Murgin, promising him to beat him if he survived this.
"I CAN STILL HEAR YOU!"
The God's voice resounded from somewhere, making Andrew feel even more enraged. Finally it stopped. He sighed from relief and the target of his newfound revenge appeared in front of him.
"Fantastic, you survived! There weren't many chances of that happening, but i knew you would make it!"
Andrew would have kicked him in the nuts but he was still recuperating from the pain. Murgin clearly ignored his rage and continued
"Now your body is 30 times as strong as before and i installed the knowledge of all the dark magic i know into your brain and you even have regenerative abilities. Well they're not instantaneous, but you could regrow a lost arm in a month. Isn't it amazing? And if you train and keep fighting strong enemies, you'll get even stronger. And know finally i declare you the Champion of Darkness, The Abyss Gazer!"
While he was finishing the sentence Andrew got up and started strangling him
"Oh shit, Nox, adifab, teleport him ,fkvnvao, NOW!"*
Andrew's could feel himself falling unconscious and his body disappearing.
"Oh, thanks Nox, shit, that hurts"
"My lord?"
"Yes Nox?"
"You have been quite an ass"
*Hello guys, regarding the parts with this*, i am doubtful of them since i don't know onomatopoeias for clearing the throat (the first one)or being suffocated (the last one), and silently laughing is right, no? Like laughing at low voice. Also what did you think of my descriptions They're the first ones i made but i guess they're pretty decent, no? Tell me your opinion in the comments.
