Soaring Dragon Continent, Sky Serpent School
“You Damn Brat!!” A voice that penetrated the room was heard. The owner of that voice was a man with white hair down to his shoulders, and had a beard that reached his chest. The wrinkles on his face was very clear, and the air around him started to heat up causing many surrounding him to leap up and run away.
The armrest on both sides were broken and the back of the chair started to burn, making the once luxurious seat turn black. His eye’s heated with fury as they were locked on Qiu Zhen. His teeth were grinding against each other, and multiple veins could be seen on his face, which was flushed red.
Qiu Zhen didn’t turn his eyes to look away, rather his eyes drifted to the man and stayed steady. Qiu Zhen was about to say something when the man slowly stood up, and as he stood up the chair he was seated in burst into flames.
Clearly the man was furious, and the qi he was emitting was something that caused many others to tremble. “A Paragon of Truth!” Many spectators started whispering to each other, while some others stared at the scene happening in front of them. The old man floated in the air and started drifting towards Qiu Zhen, who stood there completely unmoving.
The old man’s voice was rough and contained a bit of killing intent within it. “Boy, you dare harm the young master of the Scarlet Clan! Today you must pay twice the pain you caused the young master!” Once his voice was heard the other youths started to shiver, they have seen the damage done to Xin Zhao’s body.
After his body hit the wall the bones in his back were broken, his face seemed distorted; which was caused by him crashing into the wall, and he was unconscious. For one to pay back twice the pain that was caused to him would only mean death!
“Senior must be joking, this was only an exam to enter the school, and if elder brother Xin Zhao didn’t have enough power he should have forfeited, I mean he always has three years to try again.” Qiu Zhen’s voice was gentle and calm, he didn’t feel the slightest bit of pressure from the old man. Currently in the room were countless Paragon of Truth’s from multiple clans, and the elders from Sky Serpent school. If this old man were to act up and kill Qiu Zhen, then whole kingdom would know about it, and he would bring disgrace to his clan.

“That kid is courting death! Does he not understand who he’s talking to!”
“I’ve seen many come and go in my time, but never have I seen someone who gives their elder no face! Truly this Qiu Zhen doesn’t want to live anymore.”
“If he survives, this is a huge IF, then the Scarlet clan won’t let this go, and he’ll have to live the rest of his life hiding! That’s elder Xin Mu, he has a nasty temper, and countless people have died by his hands.”
The spectators and even the youths were discussing what was going to happen to Qiu Zhen now that he had the nerve to disrespect an elder. This wasn’t just any elder either, it was one from the five major fire clans in the kingdom of Fu. The Scarlet clan’s fire techniques could be considered first class, and even a touch from their flames would be enough to cause one to burn to death.
Xin Mu never would have thought that Qiu Zhen wasn’t the slightest bit scared of him and actually had enough guts to slap him in the face. The words he threw at him were basically the same words Xin Zhao said to him before he got flattened, in one move. When Xin Mu thought about it, his blood boiled more and more. The young master of the Scarlet clan got flattened in one move, One Move! If it was by someone who was a level or two higher he could accept that, but it actually happened by someone who was a realm lower than him.
The Scarlet clan could never forgive this, in front of so many people their pride and joy, the person who they all knew would take over the clan, was beaten by a brat with lower cultivation. Once this news got out the Scarlet clan would be talked about wherever they go, this was truly a disgrace.
Xin Mu’s eyes never left its sight of Qiu Zhao, the one who could ultimately cause this was this brat in front of him. Xin Mu was an elder of the Scarlet clan so he would accept any punishment given to him later on, but for now he had one thought, “Kill Qiu Zhen!”

Xin Mu’s hand stretched out at a terrifying speed, faster than anything Qiu Zhen could see. Qiu Zhen felt a cold drop of sweat dripped down his spine, this elder wanted to kill him no matter the cost.
“Stop!”
A slightly rough voice called out. Almost instantly a figure stepped in between Qiu Zhen and Xin Mu. “Xin Mu, you dare attack a disciple of Sky Serpent in front of me!” The figure that intervened was the elder at the entrance to Sky Serpent, who Qiu Zhen exchanged a few words with.
Xin Mu retracted his hand, his mouth curling down. He never thought that an elder of the Sky Serpent school would intervene in this matter, his clan might lose face, but they could deal with that. What he couldn’t understand was why someone would interfere, if it was anyone else Xin Mu would still act, but this was an elder of a first rate school. Not only did he interfere, he even called Qiu Zhen a disciple, which meant that he was already viewed as someone who would enter the school.
“Elder Fang Wei, he injured the young master of the Scarlet clan! This can’t go unpunished, if I don’t pay him back then it’s equal to someone pissing over our clan and laughing in our face!” Xin Mu was extremely angry, but his voice was calm when speaking to Fang Wei.
“It was a fair duel, and the young master of the Scarlet clan shouldn’t have underestimated his opponent. This is only an exam, and once the young master heals up he can come again in three years.”
Xin Mu’s voice shot up, “Three years! Three Years! Young master Xin Zhao is already sixteen years of age, there is no next time!” The anger in his voice clearly could not be contained anymore, and he no longer spoke calmly nor with respect to elder Fang Wei.
Fang Wei patted Xin Mu’s shoulder and lightly said, “Well then, I guess he wasn’t good enough. I suggest you go back and further his training, i’m sure with the help of the clan, Xin Zhao can still reach his peak.”
The words Fang Wei said replayed itself in Xin Mu’s mind, again and again. ‘Not good enough’ although Fang Wei didn’t say it directly, this was equivalent to calling Xin Zhao trash.
With elder Fang Wei in front of Qiu Zhen, Xin Mu couldn’t do anything, if he tried to attack Qiu Zhen then he would make the whole serpent school his enemy. Gritting his teeth Xin Mu walked away grabbing the unconscious Xin Zhao, and floated away.
“Qiu Zhen, if you dare step foot outside of the Sky Serpent school you will die!” Xin Mu’s voice was heard and everyone clearly understood. If Qiu Zhen didn’t get into the top five hundred, then he would die, and even if he did get in, he would never be able to leave the school until he reached Paragon level. Reaching that realm would take decades, and no one believed that Qiu Zhen would ever try to leave the school in his lifetime, if he knew what was good for him.
Bowing to Fang Wei, Qiu Zhen’s voice had a hint of admiration in it. “Elder, junior disciple Qiu Zhen has many thanks!”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, you still have to place in the top five hundred in order to be a disciple of my Sky Serpent school. As long as you do, I can protect you!”
Hahaha, wonder how powerful I should make that clan .....
